If he had added some clarification to his comment in the first place, I would not have needed to comment. Atleast he was able to provide clarification in response, you just told me what I already knew.
2:08 Honestly given Stephen hadn't become a better person yet, I'd say Octativus wasn't obligated to do anything more than keep on walking. If Octativus had beat the shit out of Stephen or stolen from him out of revenge, that would absolutely qualify as a fucked up thing. But giving Stephen a twenty when he wasn't begging for help and swearing he'd became a better person was more than he deserved at the time
I laughed at that a little bit when he mentioned it cos $20 is probably more than most people would give a homeless person, let alone if it was someone they despised

But you have to take into consideration that doc ock is the machanical hands guy, if anyone could have fixed steven it was octavius
I love Superior Spiderman, and how Ock truly proves himself in many ways peter never could. To me Otto really cemented himself as his own Spiderman and as his own hero.
And then they ruined it when they gave him his own body again. Instead of being changed by the experience he just goes back to villain stuff.
Superior Spider-man deserves an alternate universe where both Otto and Peter agree to share a body together. Almost like fusion from DBZ. The potential would of been out of this world

@@KingRogue yeah. Although I haven’t actually read through it properly I admit, from what I can tell the writer pretty much tries to act like his development inside Peter’s body never happened. Because we have to have characters go back to their original ways for the sake of marketing or something.

This made me think of something. You know what would be a pretty neat idea for a video? Which of Spidey's villains turned good guy and when. Because Doc is this awful person, but he *has* been a good guy a few times even outside of being the Superior Spider-man. And Sandman was a straight up hero for a while. Would be pretty interesting to have all those face-turns compiled

What do you mean what he did with Mephisto made him bad? Mephisto forced him to go throw away his heroism and he accepted to save Anna Maria and defeat Osborn

Honestly, the worst part for me was when Otto pretty much destroyed peter’s relationship with kaine, that one hurt to the core

Watching this I remember when a friend told me that Octopus is more the nemesis of Spider-Man than the Green Goblin, since Otto has tormented him more through the years
I think it’s mainly the Gwen thing, though Otto was the one who murdered her dad if I remember correctly
Kind off true since in the entire ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN TV Show run Doctor Octopus (Doc Ock) remain a thorn in Spider-Man side despite the many antagonists display in the series proper.
Green Goblin has done a LOT more terrible stuff to peter than any of his enemies combined.
I’ve always said this, Osborn hasn’t done squat compared to what Otto has done.

-Tortured Spider-Man to make him become his heir;
-created the Dark Avengers;
-killed Flash Thompson as the Red Goblin;
-turned Carlie Cooper (Spider-Man's girlfriend at the time) into a monster;
-killed gwen Stacey;
-faked the death of aunt may and the resurrection of Peter's parents just to mess with him;
-made Mary Jane have as miscarriage as she was pregant at the time;
-impregnated Gwen Stacey, giving birth to twins that want to kill him;
-was the mastermind behind the whole clone saga;
-was ALSO the mastermind behind the whole "Goblin Nation", where he launched an attack at new York while the superior Spider-Man (Dr. Octopus in Spider-Man's body) was still active, and defeated him so HARD, otto had to give the body back to peter Parker just to stand a chance at defeating him.
And these are just the examples I can think of the top of my head. Green goblin defeated Dr. Octopus while he had the advantage of having Spider-Man's body. What other proof do you need to know that not only Norman Osborn is Spider-Man's ultimate nemesis (with their opposing stances on the theme of power), HE'S ALSO *BETTER* THAN OTTO?
Geez, I knew Doc Ock is a little kooky, but I never knew he was THIS insane!

They just…couldn’t let otto keep the post superior spider-man hero mindset.
As great as that would be, the general perception of Dock Ock is as a supervillain, and comics usually stick to that on the long run.
@@matti.8465 I mean the post popular incarnation was the sam reimy trilogy otto, who was a sympathetic villain with good intentions. They could have just shifted him to that.

You'd be suprised how many fans were upset that they reverted Doc Oct back to his basic villian mindset. Comics sometimes make stupid decisions.
@@matti.8465 I mean, Venom is a full-on superhero/anti-hero these days, even if the general public perception is that he's a supervillain. Marvel should've just stick to their guns and kept Otto as Superior Spider-Man. Or at the very least, let him keep the Superior Octopus design, because that design was sick af.

The fact I knew about Ottos plan for making everyone allergic to cocaine and then getting money from the addicts before this video was crazy
fun fact about when otto was going through his cocaine and turning-sandman-into-glass phase, one of those times he turned sandman into glass he got into a fist fight with the hulk and WON

I never was a fan of doctor octopus as superior Spider-Man because it drove me crazy nobody in peters family figured it out.
I feel like if you live in a superhero world, and a superhero starts acting really weird and not like himself, some sort of mind control should be one of the first possibilities that comes to mind.

Superior Spider-Man was a pretty fresh concept, but the execution can be absolutely bonkers, lmao. The core idea is interesting. And all in all, Otto did a lot of good as Superior Spider-Man, especially in the Spider-Verse storyline. But the finer details, like Peter's family and friends not figuring things out... yeah, that was just dumb.
I still love when doc ock was superior Spider-Man. That is one of my favorite comics

One thing I do like in the Spectacular Spiderman cartoon is that the sinister 6 at first fight Spiderman all at once, But since they suck at team work the next fight Spiderman has with the sinister 6 they decide to go one after the other, trying to wear him down separately. Which does show that they evolve their tactics based on past failures.

Well, for one, literally saved the multiverse. Multiple times too. He was a major player for the Spider-Verse storyline.

My favorite version of Dr. Octopus is from Spiderman TAS ( which alot of my favorite character designs and or character personalities come from) and my second favorite version comes from Spectacular Spiderman ( Which I love most of the character personalities, development and storylines but not the biggest fan of most character designs, Dr. Octopus, Tombstone, and Mysterio excluded ) Spiderman 2 Otto is great. Ultimate Spiderman Dc. Oc is hit or miss. Ok at best... 80s Dr Octopus ( amazing friends and Spiderman 80s ) is cool for the era...Comics Otto is awesome but it's hard to keep track of everything every character did
