    We are newbies as we bought ours in 2020 we bought a 2019 2970rl ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT THERE HAVE BEEN NO ISSUES THUS FAR not to say there won’t of course… the only thing I would change is having pocket doors for bath and bedroom…. The bathroom has not been a major issue for us my hubby is 6’3 225 but our bedroom is a tad smaller as far as getting around the bed but nothing that bothered us bad bc we are only in there to sleep… but to have it has our first rv it’s really super hard to beat…… so glad you love yours it’s nice to see others as happy with their imagine as we are!! Safe travels!

      Hello Holly, thank you for joining us. Yes we love our Imagine. We bought our 2500RL because the bathroom is so big. The 2970RL was our second favorite. The bathroom was a little small for me. Nevertheless, we thought of going to a 5th wheel and changed our minds very quickly. Bigger trailer bigger problems. We love the fact we can fit in state Parks and National Parks 🏞️ Rhonda and I hope you will continue to join us on our adventures. Blessings and safe travels, Stan and Rhonda

    Fantastic video! Thank you for your review! We brought home our 2021 2500RL in Oct last year and love it. We are first time campers and this is the perfect setup for us. We painted our bedroom window with black paint and that fixed the morning light issue. Also, we ordered our new regulator through a dealer and had a certified tech install and test it, we had read that installing it ourselves could cause a warranty issue. We don’t use the shower door, we hung a regular shower curtain with a hanging shoe organizer (trimmed down to better fit in the shower) for all of our shower toiletries. Looking forward to more of your posts and videos!

Thank you for sharing how you resolved the morning light issue. We actually ordered our new windows today and will be doing a video on the install soon. Love the idea about the shower as well! Julie, We can’t tell you how excited we are for you!! We’ve had our trailer for 15 months now and absolutely LOVE it. My (Rhonda) favorite part is the spacious bathroom. I think you will really like having that extra window and counter space. As you saw, we just missed that change probably by a month 🥴 We have done quite a few upgrades that may be of interest to you. You may have already seen the videos. We are truly happy to help answer any questions when you get your trailer, just let us know. Just watched your video. We have a 2022 Transcend Xplor 245 RL we got in July of 2021. It's the Transcend version of the 2500RL. Actually got the 245 instead of the 2500 because at the time you couldn't get the recliner sofa in the slide instead of the dinette which we didn't want. Also at the time instead of a window and countertop below the tv it was cabinets/drawers all the way to the floor so it felt more open in the 245RL to us. Either way, the 2500rl or the 245rl we think it's a great floorplan and truly love it. Glad, you do too.

    It was my table that tipped over, because I didn't have it tied down correctly. I made some improvements to the tie down. I added more anchors (D hooks) to the floor and the table. I use the strap to tie down the base and two bungee cords the wrap around the the front part of the stand and connect to the hooks under the table top. The table damage was minor. The table top hit the floor cracking the front trim. I used wood glue to repair and a black permanent marker over the glue to make it look like the rest of the table. I can't believe the I had missed this video before, since I watch all of yours. Keep up the good work bringing them to us.

I agree working the table is a pain and will leave it there. We did notice the cutting board covering the sink, is that an add on, ours came with the roll up stainless rack. We like the cutting board better. Ordering the remote switch for the cap lights tonight also. Keep it up!!!

      @@OverTheHillAdventures Yes, we did subscribe! We've in the middle of one of the space saving videos right now. Good to know about the leak; we are totally anticipating the issues that come along with RVing. What's nice for us is we have about 6 months with ours before we hit the road, so we'll have plenty of time and short trips to work out kinks and get them repaired at our local spot. One question we do have, do you travel with your bike in the bed of your truck, or do they get stored in the RV when traveling?

    • @OverTheHillAdventures

      @@melvargo485 we travel with our bikes in the bed of the truck locked up. It is too scary to put them on a bike rack on the back of the trailer. There is a new bike rack that fits on the front of the trailer called Jack It. I am not found of that idea either just did not seem stable enough for me. We have super expensive mountain bikes and found traveling with them in the bed of the truck was the best option for us.

    I used all the storage containers you suggested as well as the container to keep papers/files available when on the road.

    A great follow up video to your others. I’m still on the fence between the 2500RL and the 2600 RB. I’m leaning towards the 2500RL because I like the windows along the entire back and side. My wife likes the extra perceived storage of the 2600 and the more direct view of the TV. We’ll see what wins out later this year.

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  Před 3 lety +2

      Scott, You guys are in the same dilemma as we were! We liked the 2600RB as well, and the 2500RL ended up with our vote in the end as you saw. It’s really just personal choice. The tv in the new design of the 2500rl is up higher now much like the 2600RB. The tv in the 2500RL is on a nice swivel arm and location hasn’t been a problem for us. I love the “en-suite” feel of the bathroom and the windows in the back of the rig are really what won us over. If you watch our rv beach camping video or Stan’s TPMS video, you will see why we love that back window. 🤗 Just some more food for thought, not trying to confuse you even more, lol. Hi Craig! Thank you for watching! We are happy to know this answered a lot of questions for you and your wife in your search for a travel trailer. We actually had sold a 2020 Jayco Jayflight 212qb a few months before buying this one because there wasn't enough space. This model gives us the extra 3 feet in the slide and an extra 3+ feet in the length and we feel it's been perfect for us. My husband just purchased a Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Duramax Diesel, but for the first year we towed this trailer with our half ton without any problems. We were just getting up on the mileage and, without a warranty on the half ton, Stan started to get a little anxious about traveling across country. Nice overview! I just changed out one door window to a Lippert shade. The kit included 16 white plastic shims that are inserted into each indent in the outside frame. Look at the new frame and you’ll see they release the grippers. I used a plastic tool to pull the frame out far enough to fully insert the shims, they have to be pushed in all the way to release the grippers. I mounted the main entry shade at the top, will mount the bedroom entry shade at the bottom. The propane regulator from Amazon arrived today, the pressure gauge will be here tomorrow so I can do the necessary tests (also Amazon, $50).

    We have a 2016 fifth wheel and we still have saw dust coming out places each time we tow it. I’ve worked for rv manufacturers for 13+ years and seen the units go down the line. The amount of debris left in the ducts, roof cavity and cabinet voids is so sad! Using a simple air chuck to blow it out isn’t sufficient. In our unit I believe a lot of the dust we find in the basement area comes out of the duct and we have a few places inside that I believe are coming in around the lights in the ceiling. We live 2 miles from Grand Design in Indiana and just returned from a 3 week trip to Spearfish, SD, Yellowstone and Moab. Hello Claudia, the reason we went with the 2500RL was the big window in the back. With all the windows in the slide it just gives you a wonderful open feeling. The other reason was having the bathroom in between the kitchen and the bedroom. It is like having an en-suite. The separation is wonderful for getting dressed or just taking a nap. It allows you to separate yourself from the living and kitchen area. Also, If you have guest, it allows privacy with the two barn doors. I hope this helps. We love our 2500RL it is really hard to beat. Thank you for joining us on our adventures. Stan and Rhonda

      Hi Wayne, Our view of the tv from the theater seating is truly great. As you saw, we have the 2021 model, but before they raised the tv, added more counter space and added an extra window. I imagine the tv arm extension is the same, which works great from both recliners, but the tv is now placed a little higher. Probably not a problem if you are watching from a reclined position with the heat and massage features going, lol. There is also a place to mount a tv in the bedroom which we haven’t done because we haven’t felt the need. Please keep us posted on what you decide. Thanks for watching!! Rhonda and Stan

I have a huge chain that I chain my mountain bikes to the front of the tongue. I have also seen them put large chains and chain the wheels together. Anything that can slow the process down. My wife and I are looking at the 2600RB and the 2500RL to purchase. The biggest concern I have with the 2500RL is the amount of windows in the back living area. Obviously it is great to view the outside but with that many windows is the A/C able to keep the inside of the trailer cool when the outside is very hot? Also keep the the inside warm when it is cold outside? The windows are not as good an insulator as a solid wall. The 2500RL has many more windows than the 2600RB. Great video! Thanks.

      Michael, we live in Arizona where it is really hot. When my kids visit, some of them stay in the trailer and no problem keeping it at 73 degrees. Our trailer has a Furrion 15K BTU air conditioning and it cranks. Most of the time in the winter we seldom use the heater. It gets too hot and will blow you out of the trailer. In Yellowstone it got down in the 20’s. All we used was a portable heater. Kept it nice at 60 degrees. Wake up turn on the heater in minutes it’s 75 degrees. The Imagine 2500RL is truly a four season travel trailer. Let us know what you decide. We hope this helps. Thanks for watching, Stan and Rhonda

Overall, what has your experience been with the camper and how does it tow? Thank you! Happy Holidays🎄

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Brenda, thank you for watching our videos. We absolutely love our 2500RL and it works perfect for a couples trailer. For the last year and 10,000 miles we towed our Imagine 2500RL with a 2016 Chevrolet 1500 Crewcab 4X4 half ton. The gross weight of the trailer is 7,200 lbs. We towed our trailer perfectly. We had weight a distribution hitch. Had no problem go up into very step mountains. Your truck needs to be equipped with trailer brakes. However, this year we bought we bought a 2022 2500HD Duramax Turbo Diesel. The new truck doesn’t even feel the trailer. The thing you need to pay attention about in a half ton truck is the payload of your truck. It is listed in the inside of your driver’s door on a yellow sticker. You can never go over that weight. That is the weight your truck can handle, passengers, the weight you have in the bed of your truck, a full tank of gas, the weight of your hitch, and the weight of the tongue of your trailer. The payload of my 1/2 ton was 1635lbs I was always close to to my max payload towing my 2500RL. My new truck has a payload of 3300lbs double. I don’t have to worry anymore how much I put in my truck like I did with the 1/2. I hope this made sense to you. So the bottom line is yes you can tow with a 1/2 ton but you have to know your weight to tow safely. Thank you for your great questions. If you decide to buy a 2500RL you will be absolutely happy. Please if you have anymore questions please ask. Stan and Rhonda

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  Před 3 lety +4

      Greg, It is only my opinion I am not an expert. The most important thing you need to look at is what is your payload. You can never change the payload of your truck it was engineered by the manufacturer. Can you tow that trailer with your truck? Absolutely!! The question is and only you can answer this for yourself can you tow it safely? It has been my experience that lots of people load their trailers way above payload and the max gvwr. Which makes it unsafe to tow. Having said that, I tow my trailer with 2.5 gallons of water in the tank never overload the trailer and make sure I’m below the manufacture’s payload for my truck. I get on a Cat scale and check to make sure. We have no sway when truckers pass us and we have driven in high winds with no problem. You must make sure you have trailer brakes set up correctly ours came with the truck. I feel absolutely safe towing our rig. So in my opinion you can reasonably tow this trailer as long as it does not exceed your payload. Thank you for your great question!! I hope I was able to help you. I know I gave you a lot to think about. If I can help with any other questions please let me know. Stan

      Hi Keith, can you tell me what your payload is on your truck. It should be on a yellow sticker on the inside of the drivers door. The tongue weight for 2500RL including the weight distribution hitch fully loaded is going to be about 900lbs. I would definitely get airbags. I had the Airlift 5000 airbags when I had my 1/2 ton. My original window sticker listed at 1540 payload capacity. I have airbags installed...

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  Před rokem

      @@AZDodgeViper you can never change the payload of your truck. I would definitely get airbags. However, you are threading a needle. The 2500RL unloaded is about 5,800lbs. Fully loaded 7,400lbs. Your truck is more than capable of towing the trailer. The problem is your payload. Be very careful how cargo weight you put in your truck. The airbags will allow you to tow level and give you stability. What doesn’t do is allow more cargo weight in your truck to tow safely. If you go over your payload and you have an accident you could be liability for to towing over your payload.
      Here is my suggestion when towing. Alway know your weight. I went to a Cat Scale to be sure. Like said before fully load tongue weight is about 900lbs fully loaded. That gives you another 600 left you could put in your truck including passengers and gas so your very close. The trailer holds 52 gallons of water. That’s about 420lbs. So I traveled with the little water in the tank. Just enough to use the bathroom during the trip. Being that water tank is the front of the trailer. This will definitely help. I was always thinking about weight with my 1/2 ton. Where payload comes in to play is your braking system. Smaller rotors smaller brakes ect. They become hot when coming down a mountain. That was the scary part for me. Make sure you have E rated tires on your truck. I hope this helps.
