    Hello. We just ordered an Imagine 2500 RL this week. It is expected mid October. I love the ideas you have shared and truly enjoy your videos. We are retired and have never been camping. Looking forward to a new venture in life.
    Many Blessings to you and Stan.

      Hi Cheryl, We can absolutely relate to your excitement! We were in the same boat about this time last year. The waiting was the hard part, but shopping for all the "necessities" and planning out trips certainly helped pass the time. We would highly suggest a shake-down trip close to home as your first planned trip. This will help you both get comfortable with camping, towing, and help you figure out what you still may need. Be patient with yourselves and embrace the adventure!! Please keep us posted on your adventures. If you have an Instagram, please follow us and we would love to follow you! Many blessings! Rhonda and Stan

    I really enjoy your channel. We recently purchased the 2022 model of this trailer. It should arrive any day now. I have found your videos about storage and safety tips very helpful. We live in Canada so we won’t be able to make use of your travel videos yet. Hopefully the border will reopen again soon and we can find some warmer locations for the winter.

      Thank for your kind words and supporting our channel by watching our videos. I too hope the borders will open soon. We have so many Canadians that stay in our home town Lake Havasu City Arizona for the winter.
      We have traveled over 10,000 miles in our trailer and absolutely love it!! We know you will love your Imagine too. Several of our Over The Hill Adventure family viewers are enjoying the same Imagine Travel Trailer. If you have any questions or need help please reach out to us we would be more than happy to help. Well done... Ironically 5 years ago we set out to buy the same Jayco, but ended up with a Whitehawk 27 RLDS instead . Fairly simular to yours. We can walk thru the whole trailer with the slide in. The large bathroom & closet is a plus. I've have no regrets. We use it a lot more & longer than we would have had with a smaller unit. We replaced our supplied "deluxe" mattress with a topper but shortly went to a matching make & model of our home mattress. We now go out & not miss our bed.

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  Před 3 lety

      Herb, You're right, your Whitehawk 27RLDS does look a lot like our trailer. We just watched a video on it! We did the same as you saw in our video, and upgraded our mattress with a topper, but what a great idea to upgrade to the same mattress as at home. Thank you for joining us! We hope you subscribe and join us on this journey. Stan and Rhonda

I am 59 and will be 60 in September and my mother died when I was 18 of cancer and my father died soon after that. We got through it with each other, family and faith. We are praying folks so I hope you don’t mind if we keep you all in prayer especially during this time. We pray God will comfort you, your husband and your MIL and give you peace. 🙏
      Thank you for your sweet comments Cecilia! You are too kind! We appreciate you faithfully watching our journey… even if it’s not in order, lol! If you watch them in reverse order we will only get younger, lol! Blessings to you and yours! ~ Rhonda and Stan

    We're loving your videos. Interestingly enough, we bought a 2021 Imagine 2500RL last April. Then we decided to trade our 2017 Chevy LTZ 1500 for a 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD a month later. Loved my old truck but gas mileage and towing power were big drivers. We chose the Imagine for many of the same reasons you pointed out (totally felt the toilet scene lol) and absolutely love it so far. We are based in NM and hope to get out and explore more this year. Cheers! Scott & Eileen

In the same side I have spray bottle with water and bleach to disinfect everything. Along the front wall you will find hooks with an extra 30 amp electrical cord plus a 30ft extension. You will also find my gas hose for my Blackstone 22 inch grill I keep on the door side of the trailer. A bucket with all my lubricants and grease gun and few tools. We don’t store a whole lot under the bench seats because we don’t want to add too much weight to the slide. We store our heavy items under the bed. Mostly we keep a small supply of drinks on one side and dog food on the other in bins so we can pull them out. We store appliances under there too that we don’t use regularly. Will do. Re the pre-wire for camera & TPMS, you might want to wait til you see what you want for a truck. After research, I decided NOT to go Furrion, but ordered Ford’s Ultimate Camera/TPMS pkg that integrates both into the truck’s systems. Plus the TPMS are real in the tire sensors, not screw on the valve stems. Pretty sure GM & Dodge have similar OEM systems, way better than the Furrions. Re propane, 20# is fine if you don’t use much, I’m swapping to 30s, maybe even 40s. Re dump, I have written several posts on several GD FB pages about mods I will be making come spring. We have the full entertain center, not the extended counter.
      Edit: the F350 is ordered w/the new 7.3 Godzilla engine. Delivery slated for the first week in April, will let you know towing mpg.

      BTW there is open space behind the frig, one could push the frig further back into the slide. Discovered that when I put bug screens on both frig vents (also on heater &!water heater). I plan to open the wall up between dinette & frig & make a cubbie for games etc. Also plan to add foam insulation to inside of the wall, since the vents bring in outside air. Also plan to insulate the back wall & top of the pass thru storage. Changing all 3 vents to MaxxFans & roof vent covers (rvupgrades.com), I hate those tiny fans.

      Terry, Congratulations on your new purchase!! We just came back from our longest trip yet, a month long trip, and we were so cozy and comfortable. Funny you should ask about the bedroom door window, because the light did wake us up in the morning so my husband started hanging a shirt on a coat hanger over the window before bed and it did the trick. I’m gonna be on the hunt for a better option than the shirt, but it worked in a pinch. If you find something that works, please let us know. I’m sure you got the newest design with the extra counter space. That will be nice for you. Enjoy!!! Rhonda and Stan

      There are a lot of trailers that you can tow quite well with a half ton ram. But a lot of the numbers that are provided by the trailer dealer regarding tongue weight and overall weight are almost always under or significantly under what they really are. So, It is easy to overload the payload capacity of a half ton , which is way more important than the number that the dealers say the half ton can drag down the road. The trailer I have is an outdoors RV 24, and the dry tongue weight was listed at 795 pounds. The actual weight on the scale dry with only batteries and propane was 1080 pounds. Just an example.

    Hi! Just watched your video. Love your enthusiasm!! We have a 2017 Premier with an outdoor kitchen and were quite pleased with our first purchase, but want a slightly larger unit and we're willing to give up the outdoor kitchen to keep the weight down so we don't have to buy a larger truck. My husband and I are seriously considering purchasing the Grand Design Imagine 2500 RL. We are in the same boat...no trailers in stock and would have to order from the factory, with an 8-week turnaround. Are you still enamored with your travel trailer? Do you wish you would have done anything different on your second purchase? Do you have any suggestions on negotiating?

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Denise, Thank you so much for your comment! We were in the same situation as you, wanting a trailer that was slightly larger while still being able to tow it with our 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. We also didn't want to go over 30 feet and the GD Imagine trailer comes in at 29' 9". We are still very much enamored with our trailer, and we feel the quality of Grand Design surpasses anything we've seen in other travel trailers. There isn't anything we would have done differently with this purchase. Since there were no trailers to look at, once we decided on this trailer we called dealers in our area that sell Grand Design. We were able to get a quote sent to us from one of the dealers via email, then we used that quote to secure an even better deal from another. We also negotiated the weight distribution hitch in the price of the trailer. Be sure to watch the video we made called "Are you saggin?" where Stan shows specs of the trailer and the modifications he has made to our truck for safer towing.
      I believe the new design of entertainment center in the Imagine is available so might be a question to ask the dealer and find out what design you will be getting before you place the order. On second thought, there is one thing we would have done differently. We wouldn't have sold our first trailer until we were closer to getting our other trailer because it sold so quickly and we couldn't travel. We wish you and your husband the very best in your pursuit! Keep us posted!

    Expected better from Grand Design. No max fans? That is pretty much a standard now. You have almost no closet space except by bed. Kitchen has too few drawers, also no pantry.
    We have been looking at Grand Design & other manufacturers.
    2021 Rockwood 2516S has 3 times as much closet space, kitchen has several more drawers, also has a pantry in a smaller pkg. Granted, this trailer is longer, but lacking.
    A bit disappointed in this GD.

      Hi Jade, thanks for your comment. We love everything about our new Grand Design Imagine 2500RL. Couple of things I would like to point out to you.
      The cargo bay in our rig is huge. We have more than enough storage all the way around in our trailer. The Rookwood does have some nice features like the 12 volt refrigerator, solar panels and max fans. However, it lacks in other areas. I don’t fit in the toilet closet.
      The Imagine 2500RL holds 90 Gallons of grey water and has a 45 gallon black tank. The Rockwood has 60 gallon grey water and a 30 gallon black tank. That would last you all about 3 days without full hookups. It’s all about choice and what fits your needs.
      The quality in our Grand Design is top notch. Plus, we enjoy the rear living area when camping at the beach. With the open huge windows. The Rockwood has a nice window in the front kitchen that looks into the parking lot. The lack of windows makes the Rockwood 2516S a bit closed in. Then again it’s about choice. Thanks for stopping by, Stan
