Was literally looking for some form of review on this diff as i just had my soarer tuned and it wants to fry the inside tire now. This is great information!
You should put on larger tires. LS400's have similar size wheel wells to an ISF and those guys are putting on 285 front and 315 rear tires. Just gotta stay stock height or shorter.
Feel free to send me $1200 via PayPal for wider tires. Again, this vid was filmed on damp roads. I really don’t think wider tires would have helped much.
I’m not overlooking it. I agree with you to a certain extent. I am not in a position to drop $3K+ on new wheels and tires though. So I’ll have to manage it with my right foot and steering wheel for the time being.
Are you thinking of upgrading your tires anytime soon? I think wider stickier tires would absolutely put the cherry on top of your sick build. It would definitely highlight your new power and diff.
Probably not. It had just rained for the first time in a week or so and the roads were damp and I was putting my foot in it. I suppose when it needs tires someday I’ll consider it, but these are expensive, highly-rated GY Eagle Sports.
@@ForwardMomentum Loving all the GS content man. I wanted to chime in and give my experience on the GY eagle sports. I had been running these on my 430 for quite some time until I finally moved over to the Continental DWS06 Plus and more recently to the Yokohama Advan Fleva's. I can say without a doubt either of the afformentioned tires are MILES ahead of the Goodyears in nearly every way. The Advans, def not in the wet, but I don't daily my GS anymore so that's the reason for the switch. But the Continentals in the dry and wet are phenomenal. It was (at the time after the GY's) the only tire that would hook almost instantaneously from a 2300 dig. I smoked the GY's everytime in that situation. In any case, thanks for always making great content for our cars. I really love your channel and commitment to detail in all if your videos.
I think it was mostly due to damp roads. I have 245’s back there right now so they’re decently wide. It was the first light mist in about a week when I filmed that so the roads were extra slick.
You made a quick comment about losing vsc when you went to a manual. Can you please elaborate on that? I can't stand the vsc on mine and will be going manual soon hopefully. Do you still have abs?
Yes. I cover this in my MT swap series. If you go with some transmissions you lose VSC because there are no longer two VSS’s installed. On my AR5 I am able to install one VSS, but it’s reading off a planetary gear that is a completely different tooth count than the A650E, therefore VSC system does not work and the ECU thinks the car is going almost twice as fast as it really is, limiting my top speed to 85MPH. My speedo, odo, ABS all work. That’s part of the WSS system on the hubs.
Love it 👌👌 you e really transformed this into a beast

Glad I could help! If you order, use that discount code!
I had an 01 GS430 with the TRD Torsen LSD many years back. Bought it from Carson Toyota. Was super fun!

@@ForwardMomentum One of the most bang for your buck mods you can do is tires. Don't overlook the most important thing lol

Time for some wider tires in the back.
They have 8K miles on them and are expensive GY Eagle Sports, A/S. I think k my suspension contributes negatively. It’s soft and sits a little raked.

Thanks for your experiences with other tires. I’ll definitely take them into consideration when shopping in the future. 👍
Nice work! Did the poly diff and subframe bushings reduce the ride quality at all?
Not at all. If anything, it feels “new” back there now.
Nice!
Also, it's begging for wider rear tires...

@@ForwardMomentum I have 275's and it sticks pretty good

Was curious if you still like your lift and had any issues with the locking mechanisms like you did with the other stratus model. Thanks
Yes, I will like it a lot. I use it probably once per week, sometimes more, on average. No issues. 👍
@ForwardMomentum good to know, thanks
