PART2: • Blender 2.8 Panorama s...
In this blender 2.8 tutorial I introduce you to projection painting and how we can use it as a texture extraction tool. This includes unbending curved surfaces. We go over texture painting, uv unwrapping, and projections. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
this is actually blowing my mind, absolutely amazing
From a Photoshop perspective, the rectangle extractions seem incredibly convoluted.
@@herrpez photoshop isn't 3d, I think
Hes actually doing this the hard way.. the Really hard way. Take the entire image into (image editor), cut out the section you want, straighten it, export, bring back into Blender as a plane. Would take 60 seconds instead of 6 minutes.
@@herrpez Your right, this is silly doing all this work in blender for something you could do in photoshop in 60 seconds.
Quack
Oh my god...this is history u doing there :-)
yeh I made a list of steps, I am not X- men ;)
Texture extraction and projection painting is nothing new.
That cube did nothing wrong and you deleted him without a second thought
4:10 :P
Cube lives matter
lmao, this is one of the funniest things I've ever heard about working with 3d
Tishard Natthaniel when they grow up, cubes become creepers...
The cube is a lie.
Omg thanks. Now I no longer need to use ugly copyrighted textures anymore

This is the best, straight forward, time saving, professional blender tutorial i have ever seen. keep it like this keep it meaningful
I appreciate it :)
Brilliant! You've made the process to make sense!
Waiting for part 2&3!
my head just exploded. and now i want to switch from maya.
you're like a shining beacon of knowledge
@@MrMr-oj7hlwtf
no idea what you're talking about but it is very fascinating.
It's amazing to be able to use these kind of effects. Something like this could only be used by a multi-million movie 15 years ago yet today it's completely open source. Technology is amazing
absolutely crazy :)
I'm totally blown away by what is possible in this future we presently live in. The minds at work behind all of this are unsung heroes that are shaping the history to come. Thank you to those who pioneered this magic and to those who have taken the time to learn how to use it and then share it. I'm overwhelmed but in the best possible way.
Wow. I have been learning Blender for a little while and seen various tutorials employing specialized apps for achieving this but THIS seems much more universally useful beyond just texture extracting. I am regularly blown away at how powerfully functional Blender is for its 2D tools as well as their intergration into 3D workflows.
Wow, after 18 months with Blender I'm still amazed at when this tool can do. I remember the first time I extruded anything in 3D space. I'm that amazed today after watching this. Thank you!
First of all, thank you for making these videos quick. I hate tutorials that have five minutes of somebody talking too much before they even do anything.
This is going to be super helpful. Great video. I love the speed and fluidity of your videos. I cant stand when it seems like people are learning as they go.
Totally agree. Great speed.
Sometimes the “learning as they go” is merely showing you the pitfalls.
It’s when you see their mistakes as they happen, that you know you have understood, rather than simply following a set of moves.
yeah sure ..you must be a master yourself sooo purrfect no mistake eh? its actually good when people do mistake..so we dont make the same mistake..
I have no idea what I just watched but now I understand how developers use real textures on their games cool video :)
Thank you for watching 😁
This is so useful!!thanks dude. Probably the most impressive things I ve seen about blender in years.
CG matter. You're the best. No matter whether I just want to watch some cool dude in a background while playing minecraft or actually seek help your videos are always a good pick. Thanks :)
This guy is actually sooooo freaking good at making tutorials it's amazing.
You just blew my mind dude, that's amazing. Thank you so much, now I can do stuff and things without worrying about textures anymore!
This tutorial is legit. I hope its in the blender manual. I read it a long time ago and remember sampling a texture then painting it. But I dont remember reading about unraping curved surfaces like the bark of the tree example and parking sign example you gave.
Bro this is a game changer!!!!!! You are truly a blending master!
This has to be the most useful tutorial I've even seen in my entire life.
This is why we all learn the next step as some of us try to get to next level of learning without schooling. We learn from us all sharing the lesson . Thanks to you that do..
Compact, concise information, perfection some might say.
I'm not a CGI artist or anything like it but this stuff is fascinating! I can't believe what we can do now!
Damn, I knew about Texture extraction before, but did not knew that you can do it that easily in blender.
Awesome tutorial! Looking forward to the next one!
This is fantastic. I had no idea this could be done. With this an your face mocap videos...you just got me as a subscriber.
Great video mate :) Really keen on seeing other tutorials you've done now.
thank you!!! hope you live a long, happy and healthy life!
You too 😊
Awesome video! Thanks a ton! Just two remarks for those less Blender savvy: You can use Fit or Crop when setting the camera background. That will maintain your ratio 1:1. Also, You don't have to add geometry for simple objects, you can use the Subsdivision modifier. Just switch it from Catmull-Clark to Simple. You can discard or hide the modifier after the painting is done. It will help you maintain you geometry clean.
The new UI is awesome!
This is fantastic. Being able to extract nice UV-ready textures from photographs
Right now my brain is a mess. Man, this is mindblowing! The possibilities are endless.
This is some serious next level sh*t right there. Super useful, super professional and super condensed tutorials. Thanks a lot for that!
I don't know what to do of i weren't aware of this channel. You blow my mind every damn time.
This is Godly ... I wanna quit my job and watch your channel all day and dooo the stuuff.
this is rad! I'm sure texture extraction is great for 3D work but for me I love the VFX cleanup/set extension applications. Can't tell you how many times I've bent over backwards to deal with planar surfaces that aren't facing the camera...I knew the concept of UV unwrapping was a thing but I found it all way too intimidating (and pricey). Doing this in Blender then plopping these textures into After Effects for compositing is going to be a game changer!
Photoshop's "Perspective Warp" feature also allows textures to be flattened as shown here
It only works with planes though.
@@aldobernaltvbernal8745 does it work with boats or cars?

gimp also has such tool

This is cool as hell. I may need to watch it a few times to fully digest it. Thanks
Yay for Blender 2.8 all these new tutorials!
Man I didn't thought you could do like this in blender, its so cool
6:30 is GAME CHANGING for me, I've been manually doing each one for years.
Wait he actually saved the cube instead of EXCOMMUNICATING it, what a twist
Unrivaled... So much respect for this level of content
Thank you so much 😊
Wow! I've have to follow this tutorial step by step when I'm home 😀
super good tutorial. taught with mindblowing speed.
This is very helpful I'm amazed by the power of projection painting. You explain it good thank you.
;)
This is black deviltry. I think I'll watch this video 400 times before trying it myself.
I'll be watching in slow mo while doing it lol!
That's magic, I've just witnessed!

That is just insanely clever. Wow, really amazing.
Glad you liked it 😊
Absolutely brilliant
Simply brilliant ..loving your vids by the day ....
mind BLOWN. I've done project-from-view to kind of cheat this but cloning across two UV maps is genius.
Really clever!!! Great job.
amazing! thank you very much for sharing! you're helping making Blender what it is community-wise! :)
This is crazy useful. So glad I found this video ^^

Awesome! I'll have to watch this a few more times, making heavy use of the pause button and rewind. This knowledge is really going to up my Blender game :)
Superb tutorial! You deserve more subscribes! I think your channel will grow to become a major source of excellent Blender tutorials! The pace of your tutorials may be a bit fast for novices(they can always play it slower or pause and repeat), but they are perfect for long time Blender users like me who want a quick reference!
