It is quite sad to see people being worried about creamy layer and not concerned at all about the representation of SC/ST/OBC in educational institutions, government offices, private companies, etc. People think that by getting reservation the underprivileged are getting better lives but even after qualifying tough examinations like UPSC/CAT they are simply sidelined by their colleagues. A simple data from any public office would show that the best of appointments and portfolios are often informally reserved for upper caste men.

It’s interesting how many who complain about non-meritorious LC candidates get thru schools with lower marks, are also the same people who after moving up the ranks in corporate ladder will make statements or motivational contents saying “marks?! School grades don’t mean anything in real life. Look at me, i was someone who barely passed, was a back bencher but i hustled, was creative and made things happen.” I actually don’t doubt school grades mean very little in real life success, but the hypocrisy in thought process is apparent.

Reservation is there to bring people at same level only after which there can be merit based selections. So anyone one who puts merits before reservation is trying to wider this gap of inequality.
Analogy: Ameer aur ameer hoga gareeb aur gareeb hoga

Sir but i am coming from lower middle class back ground my father had 2 acres of land we are total 6 members in family and my caste is general what i do now they are bothering me on the bases of my ancestors act that i don't actually involved today i totally understand what is caste and it doesn't matter it just old hypocrite bhrambhans game but now they are doing injustice with me some of my friends belong to st category and they are super rich then i have must be discriminate them on the basics of their caste because i am now frustrated i think reservation must be given on the basics of financial stability not caste if they choose caste then caste always get discriminate and this cycle Never ends if they choose money they it will ok i think 🤔 make detailed explanation please

The way we compare student experiences in this situation isn't fair. While I agree caste-based discrimination is wrong, expecting extremely high marks ( imagine 90-99 percentile) for college entry can be stressful for young students.
It's not fair to say a student scoring high didn't struggle enough compared to someone who benefits from affirmative action policies (reserved category).Students from reserved categories have struggles, but so do general category students who work hard.
A reserved category student might score 70% or even 50%, while a general student needs 95% for the same college. See the gap?
Getting a high score like 90-98 perce requires a lot of effort, even for those with educational advantages (English medium school). The challenges faced by these two student groups are different and shouldn't be directly compared. Just as an example - A Reserved category student might not be getting access to proper coaching, while a general category student might have sleep deprivation from studying ( now if sleep deprivation doesn't sound like a serious problem , imagine sleeping 4-5 hours most of the time because they have to manage school/ college assignments, cover syllabus for both the college and entrance exam, manage social life, etc). One other thing is, Not everyone in the general category can afford expensive tutoring (coaching), but they still need good scores( by good scores I mean 90 percent and above because 70 percent won't cut it ).
A student from reserved category may be facing discrimination but at the same time a lot of students these days are depressed, resolving to self harm or even taking their own lives because they can't achieve such high marks to get into good colleges. IIMs demand 99.98 percentile from students!!!! Even after scoring this much people are not getting calls from IIMs. Imagine ???!?!?!?
How can you compare the struggles when each struggle is justified and valid.
If you acknowledge that people from the reservation category face social discrimination, it's time to also accept that students from the general category are also struggling to achieve such high percentages and scores.
All in all both social discrimination and the pressure to score extremely high are valid concerns.

The world has its way to compensate. 🙃
It's just the way of the world. One party will dominate, another will be subjugated in various aspects. It's a cycle.

Also can we actually quantity the benefits of reservation? I mean does a student from reservation category has the advantage of skipping some part of syllabus, knowing they have to score less? I'm sure not, hence they work equally hard in much harder circumstances.

The degree's are not given on caste basis. One cannot skip biochemistry and become a doctor, reservations are in place to ease out ONLY the competition part. Hence it's given in Jobs/Competitive exams / Government.
Else it doesn't matter if you're a sc/st or general if you want to pass 10th class or 12th class or MBBS degree, or an engineer degree. there's no field of competition here in these cases.

EWS UNCONSTITUTIONAL hai....Jiska Dena ka motive sirf UPPERCASTE ko or jyada benefit deke OBC or SC ST ko general category main rokna tha.....Kyoki Representation dene ka intention Sirf social or Educational BACKWARDNESS hai....lekin EWS CASTE based RESERVATION hai...

    • @NeKo19113
      @NeKo19113 Před 4 měsíci

Ews should be banned but instead the economically weak ratio shall be added to the existing system... Like how caste inequality is represented at 22% st/sc among 100% and still 35% women reservation is included within the same 100% due to gender inequalities, this 35% is not added to the existing 22, but overlapped on a new plane... Similarly, xyz % for poor people with in the same 100% for those with economic inequalities...
They will not be added, they'll be overlapped.
