The guest's upper caste friend's dad giving up surname didn't stop them from remembering that they were infact "Verma" who gave up their surname.
The amount of mental gymnastics done by the upper caste Hindus to get rid of caste-based reservations is quite astonishing. 😇
As a product of intercaste marriage & facing all d discrimination dat happened 4m my mom's side of d family (brahmins), I was heavily cringing on dis dude's ignorance.
I have heard this ridiculous demand so many times. Whenever someone says that castes should be destroyed, privileged caste people would immediately demand that underprivileged castes should stop using their caste to get benefits.
How about privileged caste people stop using castes for holding power, for marrying and for shamelessly boasting that their members are doing so well in many fields ?
I think the only way a privileged caste person could claim to have lost their caste is by marrying out of privileged castes and not passing any caste to their children. I feel that such children should also be given reservation because it is well known how such individuals have to face so much discrimination and ostracisation from their own family members.
Caste system won't go by marrying inter caste as caste can pass on generationally.
Caste system will go away when people who stop giving importance to caste, when intercaste marriage will be norm.

I'm a Dalit and we don't even have surnames my father don't give a fuckall about us and someone at school just added common uppercaste surname. My friends who don't now my caste just spread casteism openly infront of me thinking I'm uppercaste and I just can't do anything or say anything I just hate this.
Thank you Vimoh for being one of the voices of the many oppressed caste communities as we don't necessarily have the vocabulary to express ourselves well. To the other person - If i could have,i would have! It is the society that constantly reminds us of our "inferiority of birth" if we ever, even momentarily try to forget it and not us who are holding on to it for a band-aid called reservation!

Abolishing surnames wont result in redistribution of power. Even if surnames were abolished people will marry according to class markers, so Savarnas will marry other savarnas and thus preserve their Previlege

Even in my case there is a inter caste marriage thing happened with savarna. The savarna side of family didn't even come to our house. Babasaheb rightfully said intercaste marriage is not the fullproof solution for caste discrimination.

Hey vimoh, I just want to say that do not indulge in the conversations with these kind of people, who do not have any sense of reality,and just reading messages from WhatsApp University that reservation is bad or just have engulfed with anger towards reservation, I mean why wasting time and paining your mind by talking with these people

Savarna responsibility is to break the chains of oppression we wield. The first thing about it is the discomfort that we're going to feel when you reject caste and start to see the multifold ways it appears in ours and other upper caste members. We don't get to speak about what the Bahujan community does to uplift themselves, they will do it. We, on the other hand, need to take a long hard look, and that may include even the most basic day to day actions and interactions we partake in.
7:18 most SC/STs dont even use their second name... they mostly use "singh", "kumar", etc...
In bihar maximum people irrespective of caste use kumar surname not only sc sts..

He claims to treat diseases like cancer, bp, diabetes, etc. with his dip diet and postural medicine and also provides evidence in his website (ebook). His one of the followers (ex patient) also has a channel named "Manas Samarth" which gets hell lot of views and subs.
