ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on CZcams and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

Sent feedback! This is real, glorious life with all its hardships and triumphs.
I think some of the issues with finding the feedback option is if you are using a computer/tablet or if you’re using a phone. I’m using an iPhone and cannot see the ‘home’ option as stated above. However, if I go to the sheep game channel, I do see the three dots at the top right corner and can click on it to get to feedback. Maybe that will help clear some of the issues folks are having.
Please remember to send your feedback to CZcams to not demonetize Cammy's work. Every vlog he posts I send feedback to CZcams to not demonetize the reality of farming. If people don't like it they can click away. The 3 lines on the top left side when you open CZcams at the bottom of the Home Subscription list etc is Send Feedback. What words do you use? Just like "please don't demonitize this video. Showing the reality of farm work is important information. The content creator warns viewers at the beginning that it would be a rough video."

It looks as though this lambing session is taking its toll on the lot of you sheep, human, dogs and all.
Its about time the government hopefully reinforces or the land reform act if responsible for such things steps up and hopefully instates strict fines and penalties over people who can not control their animals that are harrassing farm animals for fun and harming them. I am sure there are many responsible dog walkers out there as well that already know to not allow their dog to, but as always there are people who do not care that wreck it for everyone. They need to be held responsible. Or put into fear they might have to pay up if damage done. So happy you mentioned this! Fingers crossed.

Hey Cammy and Lizzy, in Australia we have lamb jackets called Woolover lamb covers. I’m not sure if you can get them over there but they are made out of wool and are fully biodegrable. They might be better for the lambs with thin skins. The lambs just grow out of them and they fall off and degrade in the paddock. I also breed Romney’s in Australia, so I did like your comment the other day about introducing some Romney into your sheep to get some thick skins!

I really wonder why CZcams don’t just put videos of fluffy kittens and bunny rabbits up. This is real life in all its glory, be it good or bad. Keep going Cammy, I appreciate all your hard work.
To be fair to CZcams, every video with blood has people flip out over those videos. CZcams cannot win. And using what is natural isn't a good basis because there are a lot of sketchy practices around the world that are "natural". Do I find them demonetizing videos like this to be dumb, yes. But its not like someone is sitting their watching the videos demonetizing them. It's an algorithm that has been taught that blood and death requires demonetization.
I hope CZcams hasn't permanently demonetized your channel! If someone can't watch the lambing videos, they don't have to tune in.

I gave feedback to reinstate sheep game. I mentioned his highlighting dog attacking sheep. I also talked about bringing it home by showing sheep injuries and recovery. I also said children need to know where their meat comes from and how hard the farmers work.
I also said he warns ahead of anything adverse.
This is reality
I am writing this in case anybody needs ideas to give feedback.

Keep your head up!! Tough weather. Nothing to be done but salvage what you can. We have had years here in Canada calving at -40. Usually the calves are mostly outside too, or only briefly in the barn, but weather like that makes everything 100x more difficult. Tomorrow is a new day, and next year will be a new season!

It's not just the rain but the wind chill is unreal at the moment, I don't remember any April where the wind chill was as bad last night here the actual temp was 7°c but the wind chill was -6°c!

I love listening to you talk to the wee lambs while you're tubing them. It makes me laugh and cry at the same time! I'm watching the regular vlog now, after watching the member's version, to keep your numbers up. If you're being demonetized, CZcams must be making money because there are still lots of ads! So unfair! Hopefully if enough of us complain, they'll wake up to reality.
I agree. The thing that bothers me the most is that what Cammy is doing is real, and that a lot of the ads are B.S., yet they allow the ads. Go figure. 🇨🇦

Owen modelling the latest fashon. And definitely a miracle. I've never seen a sheep have quads before. We've had plenty of triplets, which we would nearly always take the smallest off the ewe. BTW, my favourite lambs are the dark-coloured ones (29:04). They are the cutest.

It was lovely to spend a few days in the Lake District over the weekend. We saw hundreds of sheep and lambs in fields and well, everywhere actually. We even rescued a newborn lamb that had managed to nip under the fence and into the road. Its mum and sibling were pacing up and down trying to encourage it to comeback. We managed to get it back to its mum. It was a lovely feeling after watching Cammy and Co work so hard.
Is it possible to plan for lambing season to occur in May? I’m asking as I don’t know if sheep have a “season” or if they’re fertile all year round? Pardon my ignorance.

Oof... the weather is relentless 😫.
I remember years back in Iceland, it snowed in June! Not just a little bit but up to 3 meters. By then all the sheep and lambs were in the mountains and fields, it was a horrible summer for the farmers. They tried their best to save the sheep and lambs but sadly a whole lot were lost 😢.

I've been playing catch up , watching your lambing season!! So many ups and downs. You all work super hard❤ love the whole operation ❤
Just a suggestion, could you put your sheep trailer in the field and set a few hurdles in it, to put newborns in for 24 hours during the bad weather. You could also pull a tarp over trailer both sides to make an awning and set pens in there to keep rain off newborns. Throw some tires on tarp/ roof of trailer and drive few fence posts to tie off the tarp ends. Keep up the good work, love the videos!!
Oh Cammy, it's another cold day hear but no rain, I'm crossing my fingers it's the same for you. If I was in Scotland I'd be putting the coats on the lambs for you. I've never wanted the heating in in April before!

I sent feedback to youtube as someone suggested in the comments : Demonitization of farm blogs is wrong. Cammy Wilson's channel "The sheep game" is a wonderful channel that deals with the realities of life a sheep farming and raising his family. I am not a farmer. I just have an interest in not censoring reality. Most people eat meat. It's important to understand and appreciate how that meat gets to your table. Lambing is a yearly occurrence in which he includes the highlights and some of the hard realites. Birthing lambs is beautiful, rewarding and sometimes heart breaking. Please let Cammy decide on what to show or not show on his channel. Demonitization is not protecting anyone

You melted my heart calling the baby a tiny tot. And actually the caring to take the baby home. All the babies. And understanding the reasons the Mums just got in a mess. Big belly of milk and you are ready to rock wee pal. There needs to be a whole world full of Cammy's and Lizzy's. And the little raincoats oh my gosh they make my heart swell.
