The CZcams algorithm only ‘found’ The Sheep Game at the end of 2022 (I suppose it was me watching Sandi in Canada)
So now I have podcasts to watch.
The heading Fed by Farmers is so apt
    Yes FED
Our farmers across 🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 must be supported
They put their ❤️, soul, mind and body into feeding us with excellent welfare of animals
I know it’s been very tough for you all with the amount of rain over the last 8-12 months but it’s improving
    Thankyou all

Love that you are talking about how much the weather affects your lambing experience. Sadly and the up check is waterproof clothes, and a wee drum of Canadian whiskey warms the soul. Your podcast is what warms my soul and is full of shared knowledge and wisdom.

Thank you for sharing your therapy session with us! I've been watching you lambing through all the horrendous weather, so I'm glad that you can talk about it with Iona, share a laugh and encourage others by letting them know that they are not alone in the struggle! Hopefully, you will get lots more sunshine soon. Lots of beautiful lambs already, though 😊.

Here you go folks: Sheep Flaik or pen or paddock, what a diverse language in the UK & Ireland: I understand that, Flaik, Flaike, Fleek, Fleak or Flake being hurdles, railings, fence, or open wooden storage rack originate from the Norse word meaning the same which is 'Fleki'

In Yorkshire wooden gates are called sheep bars . Or sheep hurdles often prefixed by size. Ie 5 foot bar or 6foot hurdles. Also sheep handling areas i the dales usualy called sheep folds ( pronounced ford) can be stone walls or woid fence. Did hear this year a prattley called mobile fords. We just call our handling area sheep pens. Static and coverd , bliss in wet or hot weather. Just 2 ewes to lamb left.

I’ve found coming from an island the good old Guernsey or Jersey made of 100% wool is about the best pull over I’ve ever had great for the cold in winter and the natural oils from the wool keeps us dry, but if you get a nice soft Guernsey and don’t mind a touch of itch wearing the Gsy in the summer with no T shirt actually helps keep me cool. Trust me give it a whirl you will not regret it. If you want me to buy one I will donate the £80 Guernsey to you if you send me an address to post it too. Lots of range of colours and I could probably talk to our man to get one designed with The Sheep Game nitted into it but that may have an additional cost due to being specifically woven. Let us know hey?

Iona was so sweet commending you for trying not to interrupt. You are doing better and it appears to be excitement, not bad manners that causes you to talk. Just a thought, maybe pay attention to the expression on the other person's face, sometimes you can see that they feel cut off. Communication is an on-going learning experience for all of us. Unfortunately it seems some of the people in the news manifest outright rudeness to emphasize their opinion. Its disappointing.
I noticed you putting pressure on your hernia when you laughed. Hope you're doing ok in that area.
This was an enjoyable podcast. You seem to be actual friends as well as colleagues.

I was trying to figure out what this chrystalyx is and its purpose. Basically it’s “salt lick” as in nature. In nature, and I don’t know how many natural salt licks are found in nature these days where deer, moose would go to lick what elements that they weren’t able to get in their diet. I remember learning about it as a kid in school and that’s a good 50-50+ year ago now ( I’m Canadian)

I’d say with the big bags, some of it will be down to breeding for fast growing lambs and the extra milk being the difference. The Lleyns seem to have the same problem. Lot of milk, lot of mastitis and becoming a lowland breed. Might be wrong but thought they were originally more of an upland breed?

Cammy, perhaps you could devise some field shelters for next year. Old tractor tyres can be useful. Some low solid panels you could drive into the ground with drop through pins arranged to take into account changing wind direction. Needs to be easily moved to fresh areas. Metal or wooden frames with wind break material stretched over would do.

Checking the likes of the Accuweather three month forecast in the early months of the year clearly showed we were in for a cold wet Spring.
These forecasts using modern technology give a pretty accurate indication of the general trend of weather we will get, and on a shorter range are also accurate on a daily basis.
Why are we so surprised.? In actual fact I don't thing the rainfall is showing exceptionally more than the average for the overall area, but some parts of that area seem to be getting more of their fair share, that is the surprise.

I’m the same, I get excited and finish their sentence in my head, then jump in interrupting. For me it’s apparently a feature of my ADHD.
In some conversations it shows real engagement and the conversation really flows, and others it is really off-putting to the person speaking.
Podcasting is a bit different I suppose as there is a 3rd party listening to the conversation and they require different things.

You aren't the first person to worry about Blackies getting bigger softer. The price Scotch Mule ewe lambs mean that it is a good business model to breed mules in parkland situations. Buyers also want Scotch Mules ewe lambs to be put to the tup in November to lamb as a hogg. Therefore the lamb needs to be strong at the sales in August. I do hope people go back to a smaller hill type blackie ewe.

Mental health issues when combined with Alcohol can be very dangerous
