There was a reporter who had a video once who said it's amazing what Tom has done the last 30 years. He started and wrote songs that were hits for 3 bands in the last 30 years that were each entirely different. The man is indeed a genius.
@@mbuckholz For sure this is probably Melodyned or some equivalent, but most people don't realize that in general - you still have to be able to sing pretty well in order for auto-tune to be of use anyways. You *can* edit a vocal into oblivion for sure and I've seen some crazy shit get saved (including my own awful vocals before I figured out how to sing lmaoo) but if your singing tone, breath support, energy, pronunciation, delivery, resonance, ability to hold a note (even if it's off pitch) etc all suck, there's very little you can do to make that sound good. The worse you are, the more likely the post-processing fixes will be even more apparent, even if you manage to make it *work*. And although Tom has never been the *best* singer (but imo still a great vocalist which is not the same thing), I don't think the un-fixed version of these vocals would be all that bad, assuming you still gave them the EQ and Comp to fit in the song level wise that you would give to anyone else, etc... Toms voice so in tune, that I cannot find 1 bad song from these guys. I sure hope they come to the Minneapolis area sometime soon. The lyrics in most songs are so cool and creative. My fav songs are True Love, Breathe, and Heaven. Thanks for the great songs that lift my spirits each time I listen.

Tom is one of the most underrated musicians out there. His sense of melody is like nobody elses. Totally unique. His guitar playing is amazing as well. The addition of Ilan has taken AVA to a whole new level. Not necessarily his drumming which is incredible, but how he structures the songs. He and Tom work so well together.
This is one of his best performances in absolutely years! Tom may not have the guitar chops of Slash or Mark Tremonti, but he's written amazing songs over his 30 year career and his playing is perfect for it. I wasn't particularly keen on The Dream Walker. While It is a decent album and Ilan's addition was the shake up the band needed as it was getting a bit samey, I think in the attempt to try a new musical direction, they went a little bit too far and sounded a bit too disconnected from the band I fell in love with (Plus, I'm a big Atom Willard fan). I was gutted when Tom announced his departure, but following his new projects, I realized I loved Tom's song writing more than the band itself. Blink, Box Car Racer, and Angels and Airwaves. All incredible.
I can’t get over how incredible the guitar tones sound in this performance alongside everything else. Especially in Euphoria, that opening riff has the perfect amount of grunge/gain and that main lead in Rite of Spring just hits so well. An amazing performance!
Yeah... I haven't listened to Angels & Airwaves since they first came out and clicked on this out of curiosity but I was actually pleasantly surprised. Tom is a bit of a whacko but he's a loveable whacko and his vocals sound quite good and this was a solid performance.
This is pretty much a live album. artists will usually re-record guitar and will definitely go back in re-record vocals. There isn’t very many true live albums out there.
They really are one of the best bands ever. WDNTW, I-Empire, and Love pt 1&2 have so much soul and love intertwined within the lyrics and instrumentals
I came to AVA years back out of my wife's recommendation and the curiosity of the "Blink guy's" other band. I stayed because they are fucking incredible. In the studio and live. Consistently and still. Hope to catch them live.
AVA have truly progressed into an amazing sounding group. Not that they never had a great sound to begin with, but I think this is the best sounding era of the band imo.
@@jskong87 i disagree. AvA are a different band since Atom left. Ilan is a good drummer, but Atom was something else. He really gave the band a unique feel with his playing
@@robslusarphotography not gonna dispute whos the better drummer. They both have their own strengths, powerful, explosive, and tight. But you couldn’t ask for a better follow up drummer than Ilan
Tom Delonge could go down in history as one of the most misunderstood musicians.. didn't backstab or ditch blink, he wanted stay home with his family... didn't quit on blink, he was basically excused... it was never about the money, fame; Tom wanted to explore life outside of music; got involved with NASA, wrote a few books, raised a family, etc... but this dude will never get the credit he deserves because of what people choose to believe not the facts.. anyways Tom Delonge is the GOAT of alternative rock and should be in the HOF someday but if he isn't, it would, in sports terms be like a hall of famer not winning a championship..AVA and Blink are top 2 on spotify listens for me yearly because this man is the Einstein of song-writing
This performance is pure magic. It’s one of those special things in life that make everything seem okay and possible. Thank you SO much for uploading this and to AVA for being so inspiring. Will always love Tom Delonge so much

Love it, I do WISH AVA would play more of their first 2 records though.
The war & secret crowds are two of their best songs. 😊
I fell in love with his voice
I can’t get over how incredible the guitar tones sound in this performance alongside everything else. Especially in Euphoria, that opening riff has the perfect amount of grunge/gain and that main lead in Rite of Spring just hits so well. An amazing performance!
and surrender 🤘
Thank fuck for Axe-FX.
They need to just make this a live album already
Yeah... I haven't listened to Angels & Airwaves since they first came out and clicked on this out of curiosity but I was actually pleasantly surprised. Tom is a bit of a whacko but he's a loveable whacko and his vocals sound quite good and this was a solid performance.
@@bce5150 all creatives are a bit mad. tom is bat shit mental at times, but i think that freedom drives his music
Hopefully they’ll use this as a live album. It sounds great. And Tom’s voice is pitch corrected so it sounds good lol
@@bce5150 I'm a Blink 182 fan since I was 14 and sadly I never enjoyed his live performances. I'm also surprised with Tom on this AVA show.
Tom is on 🔥🔥🔥 God this band sounds so good! Love!!! ❤️
AVA have truly progressed into an amazing sounding group. Not that they never had a great sound to begin with, but I think this is the best sounding era of the band imo.
Matt and ilan were the right touches, they took the band to the next level I feel
The adventure is their best song in my eyes. The song is just so refreshing. No ones ever done drums like that before or since.
@@ricksanchez5284 agree, atom willard is incredible!
Well said!
I just absolutely love this band 😍
Tom needs to come to reality that his voice just isn't there anymore without this fine tuning. He sounds great here 😁
Pretty sure that's why he sounds great here. He's come to terms with it and is ok with using it.
They sounds absolutely amazing in this.
This performance is pure magic. It’s one of those special things in life that make everything seem okay and possible. Thank you SO much for uploading this and to AVA for being so inspiring. Will always love Tom Delonge so much
One of my favorite songs by them.
Thank you for uploading this. Been wanting to watch them play Rebel Girl in this show so badly.
Thank you for uploading this great performance. Someone else did a while ago, but it got taken down. This is some of the best live footage of them. 👍🏻
Recorded four days after we saw them at the Palladium. My second time seeing them. My favorite band of all time. Absolutely amazing.
I feel the same way I did when Tom left Blink, as I do now that he’s going back. Absolutely love this band.
God this makes me feel good heading into 2023 🎉
Feeling pretty low this week, this has helped see it out and tomorrow is another day. Great show.
Just realized that the riff Tom plays at the end of Heaven is the same riff he opened with at the very first blink-182 reunion show at Coachella.
For me the best AVA show, mixed by Aaron Rubin, really good job. You can tell that Tom put a lot of determination into singing.
This live is pure gold ! Nice ending ! Thank you Angels And Ariwaves, thank you internet.
haha Thank you internet!!!
It is so cool to see Tom outside of B182 doing something I’d never expect him to do…
Beautiful! AVA needs to produce more songs!
thank you
Regardless of pitch correction, this mix / performance sounds fucking incredible. Bravo!
If the choice is between decent sounding pitch correction or awful natural pitch, I'll take the former
@@TylerSampson51agree with you there, mate
Two words: AARON RUBIN
