- A video tribute to the life and legacy of legendary broadcasting great Keith Jackson. This 1954 Washington State University alum has been hailed as the signature voice of College Football. Produced by Eric Johnson of KOMO TV in Seattle, this is a MUST SEE story for college football, and WSU fans alike.
The greatest college football announcer ever!!!!!
The year is 2022 and I still can not watch college football without thinking about him. He still is The Voice of College football for me. Thank you Mr. Jackson.
Keith Jackson is sorely missed on college football Saturdays! 😢😔
The name Keith Jackson will continue to vibrate for a long time.
All Time
Head cracking, big as book-ends on both sides, corn fed monsters, fumble, whoa Nelly, oh boy,..... This man was in a class all by himself I watched him as a child all the way up until his last telecast what a man Keith Jackson was May he rest in peace in the name of the father the son and the holy Spirit..... What a blessing it was to listen to this man every Saturday afternoon ☑️💯
Simply the best. RIP Keith. Thanks for making my adolescent years memorable. You will be missed !!!!! You will go down as the Greatest of All Time !!!!!! Thank you.
I grew up on Keith Jackson and College Football. When Keith Jackson did a game U knew it was a big game. WHOA NELLIE LOL
John Manning I did as well. No matter where you lived in the country on Saturday afternoons at 3:30 (eastern time, of course 12:30 west coast time for the USC/UCLA games) or the occasional evening game and when you heard Keith's voice on your ABC station, it was not just a ordinary College Football game, it was the big game of that particular week.
Chris Foster good memories he was my all time favorite calling college football games. Loved listening to him
WOW!..TRULY AN ICONIC SPORTSCASTER!....SPENT MANY SATURDAY'S HEARING HIM CALL COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMES!
Respect from this UW alum! I knew a college game on tv was going to be good, when I heard Keith Jackson's voice.
Great tribute to a Great and unmistakable voice. He will always be the the best to me.
The heart of a poet, the perfect timing of a dancer, these lyrical words that you chose, so fittingly describes Keith Jackson….I always stood in awe whenever I would see and “listen up” to his distinctive voice….I am saddened, and yet, amazed that it has been 25 years since he left us, for another game for another broadcast game, that only the Angels can hear….may the good Lord welcome him gently into.his “forever” home….😂
Fortunate to be have been able to watch many football games and Olympics over the years with this fine gentleman....RIP Mr. Jackson
In my opinion he was the Best of all time
First class all the way!
Whoa, Nellie!....Keith Jackson brought a sort of down-home flavor and sincerity to quite a few different sporting events!..Seattle has several supreme "superstars", in a variety of performance arts...When it comes to sports, Keith Jackson is in that rare category. I miss his voice so much!
Nobody..BUT NOBODY called it any better!!.
I give Brad Nessler a tie.
@@robjohnson8861 LOL U HAVE TO BE OUTA YOUR MIND!...THAT IS IF U HAVE A MIND!...OH I SEE NOW WHO THE POSTER IS....LMFAO!...PAY NO ATTENTION FOLKS!
@@franklinbolander1916 Stop with caps you ignorant POS. You are screaming. Google it.
I'm here today like many others, looking back on a voice that will never be quiet. A true professional, a true southern gentleman. As I enter my 22 year in radio broadcast I think back on my early years. Looking in the mirror reading anything I could get my hands on, listings to the greats on tv and radio. Always at the top of that list was two people Ralph Emery and Keith Jackson. You see, growing up in South Georgia I had to over come something that was natural something I thought was normal, that accent! Keith had it why couldn't I? It's 2018 I still have it, so did Keith, I heard him speak a couple years ago and the most important thing he said was if you can't say it in 10 seconds don't say it at all ....I'm over 10 seconds now please forgive me Mr Jackson, may you rest in peace my friend!
R.I.P. Keith Jackson! WHOA NELLIE!
He also brought pleasantry and class to NBA broadcasts on ABC with Bill Russell in the early 1970s, the end of the Red Holzman era for the Knicks, who won a couple of championships in that time, while Jabbar and the Big "O" took one in Milwaukee.
I'll never forget his NBA coverage with Bill Russell.
RIP Keith Jackson!
Simply the best! Great job, Eric!
The best!

Semper Fi Mr Jackson
I miss Keith JACKSON announcing College football . As an Alabama fan I can still hear him say ALLLL A Bama
Amen! He kindled my love for football!
A remarkable announcer who like Bing Crosby, took the South and the Spokane area of E. Washington to the entire country.
When I heard Keith's voice growing up. I new it was Michigan football time... Go Blue!!!
A Man
A Legend ..
A Way of Life…
The great ones tell the story. They don't have to BE the story.
R.I.P K.J 1/12/18
The very last game he ever called was Texas/SoCal and ironically not long after that , He Passed but after calling that game he probably said "Now I Can Rest In Eternal Peace"
Was hoping to find a tribute to Keith somehow, somewhere. I think my search just ended. Fantastic piece.
R.I.P Mr. Keith Jackson
BOW DOWN... to Keith Jackson.
God Blessed us with Kieth Jackson; using balanced -honest coverage of all events. He is sorely missed and the latest version of announcers should take note and study him... i.e. Brent M.
Greatness
Nicely done Eric.AEKDB Bro,Curt

Football was the voice of Keith Jackson. Great man no doubt, I have to think he was saddened later to see every Murrow creed get thrown in the trash can. Hopefully he didn't watch the news the past 20 years.
Hawaiiguy Kailua yep Peter Jennings quit abc news for the same reason
Jackson: Oh God, MY LIFE SUCKED! Another Michigan game. What did I do to deserve that?
Cept for 97, Michigan was never in the hunt at the end of the season and even in 97, it was a share with Neb.
Didn't know he was a cougar haha go huskies!
5:59 that might be the only bad decision in rose bowl history
