    I bought another version of SW motech adjustable footrests for my R1200R. Cracking bit of kit.

    I have installed these on my Z900RS Cafe as I found original Kawasaki pegs too narrow and uncomfortable on long rides. I was hoping on achieving lower height but even at lowest cam setting they are at same height as original (measured) . I have not yet tried removing rubber insert and/or rearward setting in order to improve leg room. Mine are tilted forward. Bottom line I’m very pleased with improved comfort and quality of kit.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  Před 3 lety

      How very strange (and annoying)! On the Honda they were a good 5-10 mm lower and then another 10mm lower without the rubber. I personally found that they pushed the foot position too far outwards to be able to reach the controls on my bike. I'm sure this isn't the case with all bikes, but I've sadly had to take them off.

      I’m pretty sure that they’ll be the same across all models. I have the Bellypan and the front mudguard on my 2020, even though they only list it for the 2022. the differences are very subtle, but most of the mounting points are identical.

    Last time you got one of these adjustable footrests didn't you learn that without an extended brake/gear lever it ended up being more uncomfortable anyway?

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  Před 3 lety +1

      Funny you should say that, I actually found it to be exactly the samw with these ones too. SHame really, as SW Motech executed the product so much bettr and they look really cool!

    any thoughts on aftermarket slip on, to replace the huge can that modern bikes always have as standard

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  Před 4 lety

      I’m actually not super happy with this one. The fueling of the bike is so lean, to meet Euro4, that i think the Mivv can has leaned it out even more and introduced more lean vibrations. 😩 Stock runs much smoother.

  • @realcundo
    @realcundo Před 2 lety +1

    Do you still use them? I seem to remember that in one of your later videos you mentioned you went back to the old pegs, but I forgot the reason. Was it aesthetics or ergonomics?

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  Před 2 lety

      It was a mixture of both. They were extremely well made and well thought out pegs, but just not (imho) for this bike. They placed the actual contact points just a little bit too far outwards from the usual position for my taste. Plus i thought they looked a little too chunky for this machine. On an adventure bike, they’d look awesome!

    • @realcundo
      @realcundo Před 2 lety

      @@AndyManCam Yes, they do look rather substantial which I'd get over after a while. But they seem to stick out because of the extra gap -- which is my concern how comfortable it'd be operating the levers. Thanks Andy for sharing!
