As someone who has been a recycler since April,1970 (Earth Day) it hurts my heart to see waste of any kind. HOWEVER,first things first,do whatever you need to do to declutter and simplify your life first, THEN set up the needed ways to be ecologically responsible. I was raised this way,for example,my childhood home had a long hallway from the kitchen to the garage and it was lined with eleven, kitchen size trash cans, labeled for plastic, aluminum, clear glass, brown glass, green glass, etc. you get the picture.( Boy do I miss my mom!) So this comes as second nature to me,but other areas in my life have been a LONG LEARNING CURVE! The important thing is to get started like you have and you’re doing great, proud of you!🥰

I have no words to express the pride I have for you and your efforts. I find you very funny and your authenticity radiates. Man big ups Libby, there is something so satisfying watching people push through a challenge and not give up. You are very creative with your narrative, story telling, role play and loved the dreaded music choice. Keep shining ☀️ can’t wait for the next challenge 🎉

  • @IrethEaron

"I was talking to you guys and you weren't even recording. How rude!" 😂

  • @themomvlogger1856

So I’m not the only one that has bags of bags in bags? 😅 you did great cleaning that closet up. I love seeing the progress you’re making.

  • @NewJerseyLaw

Love your humor! And, your grit.

  • @Sensha4041

I love the inner critic !😆

Don't feel bad about throwing away candy. Much of it is just chemical junk designed to be addictive. (Like high-fructose corn syrup. It is in everything!) You might also want to research the relationship between processed foods, additives and preservatives with ADHD. Especially Red Dye. And, Frugal Fit Mom does great organizing using Dollar Store containers. Her tips have helped me a lot.

  • @kristinestocker

I seem to remember my holiday candy "disappearing" within two weeks of the holiday. That may work for you, too, moving forward 😊

  • @carliem9494

As one of your “besties”😆 - a small suggestion to help with overwhelm later (as you actively move house in a few months), it might be useful - as you come across the items - to corall the things which are identifiable as yours/his into separate holding boxes marked with your names (or just your things into a marked box) that way you won’t have to sort through loads of stuff again come moving day

  • @annapierson9675

I'd lay a hand towel down on each shelf of the white thing to avoid things falling through

  • @dbach226

When you get to your new place, think about getting some cup hooks or Command hooks; It's really satisfying when you can hang things on the wall instead of having them on the floor. You're doing phenomenally well. PS get your son to help with his room. It's never too early for kids to learn how to take care of their own stuff.

  • @gwenellison5386

I'm about halfway through but had to stop and say that you are doing wonderfully, Libby. Let the waste be a lesson and move on. Throw out what needs to be thrown out and then you can stay on top of it from here on out. Something I used to do regarding candy when my kids were young is throw everything out before the next holiday. Halloween candy had to be tossed before Christmas, and Christmas had to be tossed before easter. There were long gaps between some holidays but knowing things were handled before the next one came helped. Also, try having a designated gift bag, basket, or bowl that all candy has to be kept in so it doesn't wind up all over the house. And if you think your child simply has too much then thin it out. I cannot wait to see your new place when you move. I think it will be so nice for you to start fresh.

  • @eileenryan4687

Great job Libby! One bag at a time. Be well!

  • @wilmabooth8928

Well done for not giving up and for challenging yourself and when you're think you are stuck to somehow find strength to keep on going

  • @shannonw6604

A temporary solution for the candy rack slots where things fall through: cut pieces of cardboard from a box to fit the bottoms of each shelf and that will stop some fall through. You may still get some at the sides but not as much. Cheap and cheerful. :)

  • @user-eb6pt6gz6d

I like you because you’re real. Good job! 😊

  • @cazzyuk8939

The 'bag of bags' is international. I have 2 aswell - one for 'good bags' and one for 'shoppers' - I can't speak for the whole of the UK, but I'd like to say it's got to be 90%. I've even seen one of our comedians do a piece about his mum & her 'bag of bags'.

  • @Nancy-td9xh

You are doing a great job! I do have one suggestion, if convenient to you, Meals on Wheels would love to have plastic bags to put meals in to distribute to the elderly. It makes it much easier on the volunteers and the recipient, no more juggling cartons of milk, meals and anything else. Thank you for considering this.

  • @TheMeganExperience

Side note; don’t feel bad about chucking candy!!! I volunteer at a food pantry and we get inundated with candy donations after EVERY holiday and are literally still giving families bags of Christmas candy after Valentine’s Day lol. Even giving it away it’s so much to deal with 🤣
