  • Hello Singderellos
In this video I react to an otherworldly performance of 'Sinful Passion' by Dimash Kudaibergen. Probably the most incredible singer technique wise I have EVER heard. In this video, I am watching this performance for the very first time and I analyse his performance and vocal technique.

I've never seen a voice expert reactor to any artist capable of reproducing with her own voice every single sound she wants to explain in her analysis...That's a feat that not all voice coaches can really accomplish...The way you were bowing to Dimash, now it's my turn to do to you, FVM.. You a ARE a Fairy Voice Mother of class..🙏🙂

@@wooshbait36 he never said she's a better vocal coach because of that. He just praised her ability to reproduce the sounds, which, on top of the best knowledge, tells you she knows exactly what she's talking about, and has the way to express it, not only with words, but with actions as well...And that is actually, I'd say 89.9% of her communication skills as a voice coach...

I love that The Fairy Voice Mother analysis of Dimash always follows the formula:
    1. Describes that what Dimash just did with excellent knowledge and technical details
    2. Explains that it requires a supernatural voice, and a gazillion hours of practice.
    2. Takes a short breath.
    3. Replicates what Dimash just did......
And the rest of CZcams goes "waait a minute....?" 🤔

OMG! That was amazing. I’ve seen-literally-hundreds of reactions to this performance and this is one of the best. Nobody has ever brought up the term “Caprino” before, not even the excellent Italian Vocal Coaches like Roberto Delli Carri who has one of the absolute best breakdowns of Dimash’s vocal techniques in this song. Roberto duplicated the sound on the spot, but even he didn’t know what it was called. I love how much you love talking about singing, it’s so exhilarating to watch. People are going to suggest lots of Dimash songs for you to do next, but if you’re interested in seeing him do other vocal techniques that you haven’t seen yet I’d suggest “Hello” from the Singer, “Your Love” or “Know” New Wave performance at Sochi & if you really want to get your mind blown then do “Know” from the Arnau Tour in the same video. Same song, but wildly different arrangements and vocal approaches. I can’t wait! You’re really a special person, I hope you know that.

Hello, I’m from Russia! The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

Here is a little inside information I did not see mentioned in the comments section. This ties his "yodel" technique to this performance. The band playing with Dimash is "A-Studio." The song "Sinful Passion" is their original song. Their original singer that recorded the song passed away years ago. From my limited understanding, that yodel technique is part of Dimash's culture. It is often used at funerals as a show of respect. This was Dimash paying his respects to the original singer and the band. You can find the original version of the song on CZcams. It is well worth a listen, as it is more of a pop song and sounds very different from the Dimash version. It shows the brilliance of Dimash in restructuring this song to match his voice.

That is an old-wife's story. There is nothing related to funerals and grief connected to that technique. It is simply a traditional singing technique of Turkic origin, still quite common in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Dimash mastered it by himself.

Thank you for that sensitive and insightful comment. It doesn't surprise me as I am certain it doesn't you that Dimash would be aware of and want to make sure credit was given where due - even if posthumously - albeit with no fanfare needed to the ones that came before, who helped pave the way for him.
Unlike silly, self-preoccupied, self-centered idiots like Justin Bieber, who thought racing a racing car down a Florida city street at night - at his trailer trash father's instigation - risking hurting or killing someone was "fun" - for which he was charged but got off with a hand slap!
Dimash is as he put it "I am a real man" and the type of man you or I 0 be, would with honor proud to call our friend.

Dimash is going to need the help of his fans this coming Friday (and every Friday) in order to help him retain the #1 position in requests that he gained for the first time on the March 12 MTV youtube channel Friday Livestream when he replaced the act that had been holding that position for over six months!. All it takes is tuning in live when the program airs in one's time zone (5-8 pm on Fridays, New York time) and typing REQUEST DIMASH (no extra text or emojis) as many times as possible in the chat during the three hours of the program. Our votes succeeded in helping Dimash replace the act that had held the #1 position for six months! He deserves to be at the top and we need to keep him there! It's Dimash's hopes and dreams to become as successful in the western world as he is in his own country. This is an important and easy way we can give back to him some of all that he has given to us! Let's not let him down.

@@dihathaway7076 Thank you for noticing. I think that the vast majority of Dimash fans don't even know about the MTV effort nor in the voting platforms that are available for Dimash on Google Forms, Twitter and Instagram because there really doesn't seem to be much publicity about them. Even though I'm a member of Dimash/USA Fan Club I've never once been notified by them regarding this (even though it is personally important to Dimash). I don't personally use Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (except for voting for Dimash) so reaching out to viewers of these reaction videos seems the best way for me to communicate the need to help Dimash in this way. Besides, old guys like me who are wearing out our fingers and our bodies typing away for three hours every Friday can use all the help we can get!!

This was another very enjoyable reaction. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts.
Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh CZcamsr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies.
This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him.

Hello, I’m from Brazil! For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The dead singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

You are an absolute bundle of joy and knowledge. I would love learning how to sing properly even if it just meant having someone like you as a coach. Such an entertaining and well done analysis

Top as always, you're honestly the best reaction to Dimash, not only do you explain very well what's going on and why he's such an extraordinary performer (like an alien in the body of a handsome young man), but you've also mastered the techniques, and I'm impressed by your talent too!
    Thank you so much!

This song is so technical, thank you for breaking it down for us. I don’t think anyone can deliver it as good as him. Literally no one.
