I think what is needed is,anyone overstepping boundaries, such as going back under the arches like the woman in gray, grabbing horses reins, touching the kings guards themselves, walking through the boxes, etc., need to be fined for their stupidityarrogance, whatever.
The problem with the fining solution is that being a tourist attraction the signage should be in different languages or better still in diagram. People from around the world don't hold the same culture as the British and even then, it depends on the upbringing. As a child my father took me on a trip of the palaces, horse guards etc. Being an ex-Welsh Guardsman, he told me about the ceremonies, salutes and meanings of the guard's routines. Buckingham palace was the first location where the foot guards were moved inside the fence line. The Bank of England is no longer guarded, but my father did mount the guard there during the war years. It was his favorite being that plimsols were worn to protect the marble floors from hobnail boots. After each duty guardsmen were given a freshly minted half crown and, in those days, bought several pints of draught in the mess.
That is what I said a while back. We get citation and pay for infraction in driving so why not citation for touching the reins? It should be an increasing penalty. For example, first offense One hundred pounds, second offense, 150, third offense, 300, and fourth offense, permanent ban from the king's guard. I am sure they would learn.
@@TheByard The guards are NOT there as a tourist attraction they are there every day rain or shine 35 days of the year they are working fully trained soldiers who are trained to kill so please do not assume thet are there for show
I beg to differ as you can see the armed police are there to guard the buildings and control the tourists. The Lifeguards are keeping the traditions of the guards alive and doing a fantastic job of doing it. Other guards' duties have been changed like Buckingham Palace where guard duties are within the gates, in my father's day it was outside the gates. The Bank of England is no longer guarded. Cheaper travel has brought in different tourist, they don't understand the UK's culture and even that is being lost to a multiculture. I think the area needs to be fenced in a way to control the flow of people, plus a team of multilingual ushers to guide them, the UK has many.@@barbaragouin7232
Es increible que una persona ya de considerable edad , sea tan irrespetuosa, imprudente, grosera, estupida, mal educada , y podria continuar con los adjetivos pero tengo otras cosas en que ocuparme !!!!
The two ladies at 6.03 show the correct way to behave, had their photo taken without interfering with the horse and also had the good manners to say Thankyou to the guard too.
I've always known horses hooves are different in size, but until I've started watching Horse Guards, I hadn't realised just how big some hooves can be. The large grey horse has the biggest hooves I've ever seen, they are like dinner plates. Huge.
@nadinebaldock9691 believe me these are average for that size horse, you should see the shoes for any of the large draft horses such as a Shire, where I worked there were two of them that the farrier had to make special shoe’s for, the both of them had the habit of standing on your foot and then turning on it. No steel toe capped boots in those days!
I'm one with grey hair too. I've been watching Horse Guards on my computer for about a year now, and I've learned a Great deal about these two regiments. Do's and donts are very interesting. I feel everyone would do far better to read about them before going there, then you are not going to be added to the IDIOT TOURIST list..
Surely they could place chains across the posts in front of the guards to prevent the idiots interfering with them, they could still take photographs from behind the barriers
3:14 It is a horse. Horses go when they need to go. Are we not glad we do not have horse-driven transportation like in the old? With the world's population at 8 billion, can you imagine if all these used for transportation are horse-driven carriages?
Sorry wrong there! Stripes are worn by NCO’s to delineate their rank. What you saw were colours these are presented by the Sovereign and are ‘the rag for which men die’. Stripes possibly refer to matters across the salt divide.

Horses do not care a jot whether they’re standing in dung or urine. The construction of the hoof is Keratin or hoof, there are no blood vessels or nerves in the hoof wall and therefore no feeling at that point. The sole is not flat so doesn’t touch the floor, especially when the horse is shod, the only thing that you need worry about is the ‘frog’ which can stand proud of the sole a little but the urine isn’t deep enough to be a problem and will run down into the gutter. On the plus side, no touron will want to get close enough to aggravate the horse!! 😂😂
There’s no ignorant arrogance like old ignorant arrogance. Sadly some people seem to think that just because they have grey hair, the rules no longer apply to them, and being a grey haired old fart myself, it’s REALLY embarrassing (and utterly infuriating)to see people who are old enough and ugly enough to know better, behaving like 3 year olds without impulse control.🫣😡 Quite aside from anything else…..what on earth do people expect to find back there? The portal to bloody Narnia? I mean the whole arch is open……you can take your pictures from the FRONT like everyone else And DONT say there was a language barrier because she understood just fine the first time, just decided that it didn’t “really” apply to her so went back and tried again
To be told once should have been enough but she did what she wanted A rude and disrespectful woman
Its was nice to see two women thanking the horse guard for photo shoot. Rare even for one to!
Gorgeous horses, so well trained. Someone should train the people who act so rudely!
Someone should train the musicians too. They sounded ghastly.

Absolutely and their passports taken until it is paid. If they are a British native, they can sit in jail for 5 days plus a fine.

The woman in grey was spot on. Thanking the guard.
No manners whatsoever

This behaviour just beggars belief
Just amazing the clueless clowns !

It should be set up for the tourists to behave better or not be allowed in and around the area. So tired of seeing such rude childless behavior
How would you suggest that happens?
Why?
Thank you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Australia.
Tourists who come to London nowadays are
so bloody rude!!! Why can’t they treat the King’s Guards with a little bit more respect???

I love witnessing military traditions.
Unfortunately there aren't any consequences for bad behavior. Now people think they can act any way they want

They do that whenever a Long Guard is on duty.
@@glynluff2595 He meant stirrups, I think, but is not in control of his 'auto-correct'.
That grey is huge compared to the other horses 8:14
Black does have a thinning visual effect. Notice how much bigger the behind of the gray horse is?

Horses have 1 hour shifts. He will be ok. 🇬🇧🐎
@@ginettechiverton7113 • 😊 He's not exactly "barefoot" either...what with his hooves and horseshoes!
The guards and horses on duty in the boxes, are there for ONE HOUR ONLY. Then there is a change over with fresh horse and Guard.
