Between the old lady pressing in on this guard, and the next lady in white, and then old lady returning because she obviously didn't feel she was close enough as she needed to touch the guard, they put on a great show of ignorance, disrespect, and entitlement!! Im amazed at the women who think it’s ok to touch a soldier or anyone they don’t know for that matter. They have no concept of personal space. If someone they didn’t know touched them they’d probably be screaming “Don’t touch me”🤦♀️

Here in the states what she did is considered assault (verbal interference) and touching the guard (battery). It can be a felony depending on how egregious it was. Regardless, it can put a permanent stain on an otherwise sterling record if convicted.

We as the human species feel the need to touch any and everything. I don't understand why those visiting don't get the concept that the Kings Guards and the Kings Horses are doing their daily jobs. Visitors should give them both their space and not be constantly invading that space. Very Disrespectful and proves the visitors lack respect. Definitely has to be stressful for both the Guards and The Kings Horse Gaurds.
I gather the lady couldn't understand English if she was listening in on the conversation the guard and Gatesman were having, but breathing down the Gatesman neck, was a bit much. The other lady in white, must have thought she'd take a chance and see how cute the Gatesman was, she got so close. Total disrespect for men and horse, on duty.

The video was shot on 22nd September according to the sescription. Horseguards is shut for a few weeks for upgrade to wiring and cabling. 🙂

I have seen these two same troopers on other videos regarding household guards they are the most patient and understanding by that i mean givine that little bit to children and disabled whilst maintaing correct duty, these troopers are a credit to their regiment, and dear tourists these guards are doing a job and a serious one at that please dont go treating them like a photo stall and DONT touch the reins the trooper cannot control the horse if he has no control of the reigns add to that the reigns are a link from the horse to rider the horses dont like you touching them, other than that have fun you can even catch a smile if your lucky and always ask to take a photo as although these are well trained horses flashing lights sometimes confuse them. love to all especially these two troopers.

What IS in it? Nothing these days. It’s referred to as a cartridge box, the idea being that it held cartridges(rounds) for a rifle. Many people say that’s unlikely however because of the positioning, but, just because the wearer can’t reach it, doesn’t mean the guy next to him can’t. Soldiers often arrange their gear that way today in the field, with spare ammo placed towards their back so another soldier can easily access it, leaving the front, easily accessible part of the body free for weapons, navigational equipment and comms.
