Ik this is 2021 but my mom just got in a bad car accident in her 2001 honda civic and got it totaled. She is getting this 2016 tomorrow and it is absolutely beautiful! It will be a big jump for her cause she's always had older cars cause she's always had problems with them but I think this one will be good for her cause it's newer love the blue!
Good review Steve! Been waiting for the Type-R variant though...🤔
You are a very good reviewer.
Whats up steeve hammes nice review like always; always forward to your videos keep up the good work
I like you because you're a Yankees fan 😉
hahaha good to hear that thanks
This is a few notches above my 95 Civic! Well done H.
One of your sterner soliloquys, but informative as per usual
You're too funny!
TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes You inspire me Steve
that color looks so nice i would trade my acura tl 12' if i had the money
Can you please review the hatchback? That's the civic I am currently looking to purchase.
Great video Steve - hit all the bullet points
Thank you, sir!
Gorgeous car ❤️❤️
Steve Hammes Stellar Reviews keep me coming back for more. I was very interested in the new 2016 Civic loaded up but if the car is that popular I can't see the dealer offering any deals on them. The last Civic I bought in 2007 I got the EX model and they took almost $2000 off. Now I am looking at the Touring model at almost $27K and wonder if I should just buy an EX-L Honda sensing. I am so confused.
Thanks! Good luck - either way you'll end up in an excellent ride.
Great review, Steve. If you didn't know any better, can you tell that it is still a CVT? Or does it mimic a normal auto?
It's still CVT-like but without the lag in power when you really step on it.
Great Review. I agree with you Steve. Honda should have offered a different autobox or extra power or something to further separate the coupe. I guess they are saving all that stuff for the SI & or Type R. I might be alone is saying this but I would buy an SI with an nicely tuned DCT..If BMW can do it, so can Honda...IMHO
all i want to know is the civic coupe coming to the uk. and any dates when? for me looks like 2018 or might not get it.
Impressive.
I think this is the only review I've seen that says the touch based controls aren't frustrating to use.
Good job Steve. I believe the coupe uses different springs and dampers (tuned more for sport) than in the sedan.
All I could see were slightly smaller stabilizer bars. Nothing in the Honda specs or press materials indicated any further suspension changes. If they were, it was undetectable.
TestDriveNow Reviews by Auto Critic Steve Hammes yes it has stiffer springs
bravo Honda... now Bring us the Type r and An new S2000
now we are only missing the new Honda S2000
For Gen 11 PLEASSEEEE GIVE IT WIDER TIERS... I test drove it and threw it around a little bit it needs them bad.
Wait a minute, so this fall, I could get a Civic Touring in either coupe or sedan with a 1.5 turbo with a 6 speed manual?
If so, then mind blown :o
Q hermoso auto...
I admire the overall improvements to the Civic lineup and really love the coupe's styling enough to pull me away from the practicality of the 4-door. Hope they get the Si right. Steve, do you think the next generation Accord Coupe will be this much better than its predecessor? Or do you think the Civic Touring Coupe or Si will be the death of the Accord Coupe?
kjscoleman I know there's no Accord coupe for 2018
Can't complain. I fit everywhere...Flash back 🤓
gd reveiw
The original BlU💯
Just waiting for the manual
It's coming!
When will there be the Si edition of the Civic?
2017 model year
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes
Honda better not muff the Si edition of the Civic. The big issue will be the powertrain. Will it be the 2.4L Inline -4 that's in the previous gen, or will Honda put a new one.
The Si has been exclusively a manual transmission car. However, I talked to a Honda salesperson and he said that he would like to see Honda add a 6 speed auto as an option.*
* - Fanboys will scream heresy.
can you test the 2016 Chevrolet Spark?
Sounds like a good idea. I'll call and schedule one.
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes thanks!:)
I found the car very claustrophobic Now, Im 6'2 and had to adjust the chair accordingly so i didn't hit the headliner, but its just too coffin like. And I enjoy coupes.
I'm 6'2" and my head is nowhere near the headliner. You must be referring to a "15 Civic.
no im not....Than u don't have a ex
There is no difference in headroom across the entire lineup. The guy who sold me the car was 6'4" and he fit just fine during the test drive. You realize you can lower the seat as well... Are you referring to the back seat on the coupe??
dude....obviously you never drove the car. Just having a sunroof decreases head room, or do you disagree with that? Are you serious? At 6'2, if I sit straight up, my head brushes against headliner, I have to tilt the top part of seat back to have a bit more head room. Plenty of space in car, OTHER THAN headroom with sunroof.
No need to respond again, since you disagree. But I suggest you drive it
Drive it I own it. 2016 Touring coupe. Lower your seat bud your dealer obviously didn't give you a proper walk through ....
Honda, how 'bout paddle shifters in the coupe?
Yeah!
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes Just like the Accord Sport.
They made them a Canadian exclusive for some reason.
Turbo and CVT? I am not biting, sorry!
It's way better than you'd imagine. But the manual should be extra good.
Pedro, I've driven a CVT in a Honda, Nissan, and Subaru. I felt Honda had the most automatic feeling CVT.
Billy Sou
I've only driven a Nissan Sentra and I found it ok for normal driving, but I also know of their problems with reliability. So just because of that , I would not get one.
Don't be surprised, Audi A4's had this combination when equipped with FWD, last model generation
not cvt
The front and rear styling are unfortunate, and the turbo engine needs a manual, but other than that this is the new class standard
My civic coupe shits on this !!! Check out my custom civic on my channel
