  • I now have functioning track on The Harland Light Railway, my oo9 narrow gauge layout. but was asked how I made my bridges on the higher level track. . This video shows how I made some wooden sleeper bridges with stone pillars (one straight and the other curved) as well as a stone arched bridge and some additional footbridges.

Thanks Janet. Designing them and getting them to fit was interesting but definitely worth the effort I think.

I am impressed by the simplicity of the materials used in the making of the bridges, how good they look and how well they fit into the scenery. I am a fairly new subscriber and working my way through your videos, which I am enjoying and learning from.

Thank you. I like to use cheap and cheerful materials and my skills to create something without making it too complicated.

Very interesting, such simple components (match & ice cream sticks), very inspirational
Enjoyed watching it - and the bridge size 'mistake'!

Thanks. I like to use components that are cheap and cheerful when I can. Hadn’t calculated on just how wide the little Peco carriages were!!

LOL, that type of thing has happened in real-life too - for instance, when the Central London Railway* bought its electric locomotives they measured the size of the tunnels but forgot to take in to account how the height of, the rails.slightly reduced the actual available height within the tunnels - so their fleet of specially built locomotives were too tall for the tunnels!!
To solve this dilemma they could not rebuilt the tunnels so had to use shallower rails and alter the suspension on the locomotives

@@simplesimon2802 wow. At least remaking my bridge took about 30 minutes and at no real extra cost🤣🤣
