- Loading the cine film into a spiral universal UPB-1 or UPB-1A LOMO developing tank. 8, Super8, 16 (2x8) or 35 mm.
The end of the film is fixed to be used any way that you would like.
Emulsion this side needs to be facing up.
The perforations must be down for 1x8 film.

I'm trying to do this right now. You skipped the part where the film gets all jammed up and also the part where you cry at the sheer impossibility of this task.
Edit: I've since managed to do it successfully after a lot longer in the dark than I expected as well as many curse words at a volume that may have disturbed the neighbors.
That feel
many thanks to show the different film sizes
I learned to do this in the dark. Boy did it take some patience to get it down!
Thanks. Simple demonstration. This helped me realise I am missing the black spacer for 35mm.
thank you very much this is very useful
For 1x 8mm (the first film you load) don't put the second spiral reel on top. Always use the top reel (without spiral).
I got a beat on one from ebay and now im finally gonna be able to develop film for my bolex h8
Thanks! :)
it changes length of spindle to develop 16mm and 35mm film, during used bottom spiral ring
Holding the film spool will put less finger grease onto the film. :)
Hurrah, i've igured out how to do it again. For future ref. Emulsion side is out, 1R perfs into the groove.
So I finally saw which part my tank is missing for the 35 mm film. What is the heiht of that adapter exactly?
Some of these are for sale now on ebay if you want to get your own! Ebay Search "lomo developing tank"

A slitter was provided with the kit I bought
for develop 1 roll film 8 or 16 mm - 1 liter
for 8+16 mm, or 2 roll 8 mm, or 2 roll 16 mm, or 1 film 35 mm - 2 liter
And what about 65mm film? How are they developed??
Does this work for Super 16 film as well?
yes, of course
1 liter fo 1 roll of double 8? And 2 liter for 2 roll of double 8?
this should be done in complete darkness right?
+Samuel Thorstensson of course! But first you have to practise in daylight with your eyes closed
2R 16mm? retro.
I spent the best part of a year mastering this (intermittently), then i stopped, now i have lost the knack.
How many ft of film were you demonstrating with?
the length of each reel/spiral (layer) is 15 meters - approximately 49 ft
where can I buy this tank? :(
eBay, it's mostly being sold by eBay sellers from former USSR countries.
I have one for sale😉
