- Today I'm at Sunrise Cafe in Battle Creek, Michigan, attempting their undefeated Sammy Challenge! Challengers have one sitting to finish a giant "hangover skillet", which is composed of two giant pancakes on the top and bottom, stuffed with eggs, meat, and cheese. There's a ton of gravy to top it all off and a fried marshmallow. Winners get a shirt and go on the wall of fame. If you are unsuccessful, you pay $25 for the meal and take home leftovers.

Oh man, Nathan, when you and Chef George started talking about how sweet those pancakes were, my stomach started growling! I wished I were eating those pancakes because they looked so delicious. Especially with that syrup on top! Thank you for posting this great breakfast video! I loved it ❤❤️😊

Thanks Mary, skillets are very underrated and often very delicious. Sorry you’re feeling down, we all can get that way from time to time. I do the same when I feel down, sports are my go to. Pancakes topped with sausage gravy and a marshmallow… not sure what I think of that. Interesting combo, all things I like individually, worth a try… glad you liked it. “One of the best…” is a surprise but hearing that I’d try it. Congrats on being the first winner.

I’m surprised it all tasted good together, but I do love pancakes, and I’m starting to think sausage gravy goes with everything 😅. Plus if a man with as much breakfast challenge experience as you ranks it so highly then it must be good! 😁
Even with the one sitting time limit I wouldn’t call this beginner friendly. It takes skill to beat that skillet! Fortunately they do a regular sized version, so if they bring the breakfast I can bring the, uh, hangover.

Wow the gravy looks so flavourful and thick! Awesome job Nathan, that thing was HUGE! Gotta love a nice mix of meat, eggs, and cheese with some sweet pancakes. I don't think I'd be able to finish even a 1/4 of this though, you rock!

That question varies to be honest. For this video? I shot this in November 2022. The combine burger challenge I posted a few weeks ago was in April 2024. I have some videos that are from 2019. Not sure if they will ever see the light of day though.
