    In this video, we'll show you how to field strip and clean the SP2022 by Sig Sauer, and then go into some additional information about this pistol.
    The Sig Sauer SP2022 was originally designed for French law enforcement, but once it came to the United States, it became an extremely popular home defense and concealed carry gun.
    The SP stands for Sig Pro, and the numbers 2022 denote the service life of the pistol. These were rolled out to the French police in 2002, and scheduled to last for 20 years as their sidearm. With the way the SP2022 is built, it's going to last much longer.
    The 2022 is very similar to Sig's P226, one of the most popular combat pistols of all time, except that it's lighter than the P226 due to the polymer frame.
    The reason why it's so popular is that the SP2022 strikes a fantastic balance of price and quality, and it's similar design to the P226 demonstrates its proven effectiveness.
    The SP2022 is chambered in 9mm, but is also available in .40 S&W for those of your who prefer that caliber. To find the right holster for your SP2022, visit www.urbancarryholsters.com!

    Good vid, clear and concise tip. May I suggest (from cleaning mistakes I learned the hard way): Always wear latex gloves, wear eye protection, buy an apron, buy a set of brass brushes and clean them off during and after use, buy a bore brush-cuts down cleaning time in half. Your eyes, hands and clothes will thank you for doing this.

    Price has gone up on this model. Lowest in June 2019 I could find was just about $500 on the plain model. Still worth the money though!

    This is a great video but the side view shots dont show what you're doing completely. As i watch it i feel like im missing some valuable information. The over head shots are perfect. I'm looking forward to the next video illustrating the TOTAL TAKE DOWN of the Sig Sauer SP2022 and magazine.

    Its been a great gun so far, but, it's a bit much for conceal carry, like wearing a brick.

    Great pistol that I was lucky enough to get brand-new for a steal, and it came with a $60 holster too. But those SIG magazines are thumb-killers! I need me some gloves.

    This is good but the out of frame shots that don't show what you're cleaning is bad. Mic is bad. Too faint. Had to crank up the volume.
    However, this was great that you talked through each piece of cleaning. Thanks for the time to walk through this.

    why is the slide pin sticking out so far out of the frame on the opposite side? That is going to tear some clothing or holster.

    Brass IS softer than steel. Having said that, one should ALWAYS clean barrels from the breach end whenever possible.

  • @daewoo14
    @daewoo14 Před 3 lety

    Do you have to to do this the first time you get the gun. In other words, when its brand new

  • @JB-pb9xv
    @JB-pb9xv Před 2 lety

    Only thing I would add and say, is that first off.. The gun cleaner getting into the "firing pin" area, really shouldn't be an issue.. It'll work it's way out if anything gets in there, an may even help clean a little dirt out. Not like you are going to use the gun immediately. The oil I would definitely try an keep out of the firing pin..
    It's true about the oil attracting dirt, an definitely don't need to put an excessive amount. Especially around the trigger and hammer springs. However the slide and guide rail / main spring do take allot of wear, an I usually use a little bit of oil. So it doesn't run rough or dry..
    But the other thing I was going to point out, is that I usually use a "nylon / poly bore brush." Rather then the brass brushes, which tend to scratch up the metal more. An are really only needed or recommended from what I've seen and read over the years. When there's excessive build up or corrosion in the barrel. An then idk if it really matters or not, but with the brass brushes. People will start from the inside end, as he did. But will rotate the brush with the twist of the rifling, while pushing it through and pulling it out..
    Good video guide though, an although very much so simple enough. Had been a minute and I'd rather check to make sure I remember an know what I'm doing. Before pulling around and popping pins out of the gun, to take the thing apart lol.

    Why do I have a difficult time pushing the take down pin out? I have to use something metal to push it as it is so hard to pop out.

    So I just got this gun with my bday money. I notice this gun comes in two colors black, and flat dark Earth . Well long story short found a brand new one on gun broker and it's in ghost color. I did a little video so see if anyone seen it in that color, and it's not custom I seen it on a different website but it's been sold out for a while. I guess I got lucky on this rare find.🤷🏿‍♂️ Great video for a under rated gun!

    I have no idea why everyone thinks it's so difficult to take the piece apart. It's just a matter of technique.

    • @NOLAgenX
      @NOLAgenX Před 4 lety +1

      Servius Terentius the tricky part is getting it back together without getting a jammed slide. Yep, despite years with pistols, on my third time putting it back together I slid it too far back before putting the slide stop pin in. 😂 That sucker was hung up on the hammer. It took two of us to muster the strength and pulling down on the hammer enough to wrench it free!

    • @Buffalohump77
      @Buffalohump77 Před 3 lety +1

      @@NOLAgenX Agreed, after messing with Glocks and 1911s for years I also found it tricky. Have to hand it to Glock, who designed the simplest take-down and reassembly ever.

    Do you recommend oiling inside of barrel? First time gun owner here.

    • @maxwellmark
      @maxwellmark Před 4 lety +2

      Six Pack minus two Yes, you should run a lightly oiled pad through the barrel. A light coat will protect the inside from any moisture damage. The rifling grooves can be the most susceptible.
