Hi! I suggest you watch the "Classes" and "Verbs" playlists first (2 or 3 lessons per week). When you feel you are ready for studying more about Pronunciation and Idioms, move to the other playlists. Now, if you are planning a trip to Brazil and want to pick up some Survival Phrases, then that is the playlist you should aim at 😊.

You should say, "Prazer em conhecê-lo", if talking to a man.
"Prazer em conhecê-la", if talking to a woman.
These sentences sound a bit formal, though. Brazilians tend to be more informal, at least when speaking. But, you are more than welcome to use them. 😊

'Prazer' is a less formal phrase, but not slang. It definitely is the shortened version of 'Prazer em conhecê-lo / -la'.
'Prazer' literally means 'Pleasure'
@@PlainPortuguese but if i am saying nice to meet you, you is você i have been learning from my girlfriend and through duolingo. If i sai prazer em conhecê-lo or lá that would say nice to meet him. As if i am talking to someone else.
Although 'você' is a 2nd person pronoun, not only is it followed by verbs in the 3rd person singular, but also takes all the 3rd person pronouns (the possessive and the object ones).
If you want to tell me it was a pleasure to meet me (a woman), you can safely say 'Prazer em conhecê-la' - here the object pronoun is referring to 'you'...in other contexts it could refer to 'her'.
