I was born and raised in this swanky and leafy district.
Much of the original population who built this city, by the end of the XIX century, where migrant of ltalian origin.
But there also were French, Brits. Germans and other people of other European nationalities.
The were many beautiful houses of different European styles that used to embellished and lined the main streets and avenues
of the district.
Sadly, as the sayin goes, seems like 'nothing stays the same forever.
Because, much of those mansions fell victims of the wrecking ball of modern times (literally and figuratively) to give way to modern constructions and high skyrises.
Few houses of that period still stand the passing of times, but they're becoming fewer and fewer.
Therefore the skyline of the old Miraflores has changed dramatically and has changed forever.
I'm writing all of this with a bit of nostalgia.
And l wish and pray that all these new constructions, one day not far away from now, would come to a halt, before no trace of the history of the old city is left.
I apologize for my poor standard of English, Spanish is my mother tongue.
Hope l've conveyed my worries and thoghts to all of you regarding the alteration, transformation and changes this beautiful city has passed (and it's still passing) through the times.

I agree with you, as to how Miraflores has changed. I lived there in 2003 and 2004. I've been back to visit, since. More and more of the picturesque, old villas are disappearing. It's becoming just another district with high rises, and soon there will be no more "flores" to "mirar". ¡Que decepcionante!

Hola,Miraflores es parte de la Capital de Lima,lo que estas viendo es el malecon y circuito a las playas y Costa verde.Paseo para los turistas,y de noche vas con tu carro y ves el mar a lo largo de todo el malecon Pero es mejor en el dia en epoca de verano disfrutar de las playas y bañarte..

Hi, are is there affordable, safe transportation (Uber, bus, train) to get around town or from city to city?
si tienes que bajar unos cien metros y sortear el trafico luego te metes en una playa de piedras pero con zapas por si no te pincha un erizo ah cuidado con las malaguas q pican.
