Was the Bird/Magic rivalry the fiercest in NBA history?
Jordan
Bird
Kobe
LeBron
Magic
Hakeem
Wilt
Duncan
Kareem
Russell
Curry
DrJ
My top three are killers. Bird took his Indiana team to the NCAA finals with a bunch of farm kids and barely lost to Michigan with Magic and four other NBA stars. I put Curry in as an alternate and DrJ because half his stats are ABA and not counted in the NBA.
Shaq couldn't shoot a free-throw and never was the best player on his team. Wade, Kobe, LeBron, Celtics Big 3; so he's no top 10 for me.
As long as Larry Legend is somewhere in everyone's top 10, it's gucci
Top 5 for me
That was funny. I like how you said that
@@brycehammerton4542 Interesting!!
Facts
@@brycehammerton4542 same
Bird is the only player in history to average at least 20 10 5 (regular season). I feel like that doesn't get talked about enough.
Huh? Westbrook & Oscar both averaged Triple Doubles… also Giannis literally just did that 4 yrs in a row…
@@marquisewalston377 Career averages. He is the only one. Although I take your point, Giannis looks like he will comfortably average this for his career when it is all said and done
@@logosg Ahh gotcha, I guess I should’ve figured that’s what he meant. But yeah don’t see anyone besides Giannis matching that
Career averages are not that important because everyone plays a smaller role as they get old so you are just penalizing people for playing longer. Bird only played 13 seasons, if he'd played longer it would have brought down his average. If Giannis plays into his late 30's he'll average fewer assists and his career average will fall below 5.
@@connorbrennan4631 Giannis doesn't even average 10 rbs or 5 asts now. Even Lebron/Durant/Magic have never had a season averaging 10 rebounds. It's not as easy as you think imo. Also Bird got hurt and had to leave, he may have had a longer prime. He also had 1 season where he played like 6 games averaging 6 rebounds and 4.8 assists that hurts his total average. Its a legit stat imo
No way Kobe should be higher than larry legend.
Yeah, that's just modern day sensationalism.
Kobe was the better player
Literally, Kobe or Duncan both can’t be ranked above Larry unless you just didn’t watch Larry play much and we can definitely assume Nick has maybe watched some highlights on CZcams and that’s about it which means his rankings are sort of like an 8 year olds xmas list
@@vidalmoore3537bumped your head kid
Could be!
I’m pretty sure the rest of the list is 6 kobe, 5 Duncan, 4 magic, 3 Kareem, 2 Jordan and 1 lebron
They dont call him "larry legend" for nothing...
“ Oh here is the steal by Bird 🍀underneath to DJ he lays it in!!!!”
Larry was a WINNER - period
I have Bird at # 3.
Hmmmmmm.. that's a little high tbh.
@@saiyerugara9038
Really? I think it’s not high enough.
@@irishgrl It's only a 10-year run like I think Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant should probably be above him as should a certain other 4 players + Bill Russell.
Rookie of the year was not mentioned since he is one of only 8 Hall of Famers to win Rookie of the year and to be named to the All-NBA first team the same year. Second all time win percentage only behind Magic by about 10 games.
Bird rebounding was immaculate
Larry Legend is a top 5 player of all time, period. He's the father of basketball.
No, that would be Bill Russell, Bob Petit, or maybe George Mikan.
@@QuestionEverything562 - Nah, Bird could do everything on the court, the others can't. Bird is the best all around player to ever play.
@@epic103 No, I'm saying he isn't the father of basketball though. You can say he's top 5 for sure, but not father. Father is always the first evolutionary player in a sport, and Bill Russell has that title right now since he's still alive.
@Tyler Holt - Bird's worst free throw shooting season is 6 points better than LeBron's best season.
From 1980 to 1988 Larry Bird was the best player in the world. Bird is the founding member of the 50, 40, 90 club and won 3 straight MVP's. Only other players to do it was Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.
@Tyler Holt - how is his shooting better overall? Bird is a better 3pt shooter, a better free throw shooter, and his FG% from the floor was higher.
I’m taking him over magic.
In his prime, individually, he was a little better. But it's close enough to where Magics 2 rings put him ahead.
@@im_an_alien196 there was no point in which magic was the best player in the league, the same cant be said for bird, thats why bird should be higher
@@im_an_alien196 Agreed. Bird was better in his prime but Magic had a better career
100% agree with you. Think about it, he went up against Kareem and Magic. Birds Robin could never compare to Kareem or Magic.
@@ZZ-ex8py in 1987 he was the best player in the league. But yeah, I agree his peak is top 4 on this list,
Who was better...Magic and Kareem or Steph and KD? We all know the answer so Bird should be higher on the list. Look at the teams Birds had to go through every year just to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. The West was cake compared to the East during Bird and Magics era.
This dude put Kobe above Larry, that’s all you need to know 🤣 🤡
@@jubjubhenry5612stop the cap most people that aren't old heads would rank kobe ahead of bird. kobe was more skilled and clearly a better defender than bird and bird only got to play 13 years technically 12 years he played less than 10 games during the 89 season because of bone spurs it makes sense to rank kobe ahead of bird only jordan lebron and kareem should be ranked ahead of kobe your the actual 🤡 ✌️
Bird cooked Jordan in head to head matchups & out of 34 total games (including playoffs), Bird won 23. Basically nearly 75%.
He had a lot of help🤦🏿♂️
jordan was playing with cokeheads for half of those games 😂 I don't think bird wins majority of those games against jordan's 90s bulls
Larry himself called Jordan God after he scored 63 points on the 86 Celtics with multiple hall of famers
@@michaelsevilla3697 Prime Bird beats Prime Jordan bcuz BRAINS TRUMPS ATHLETICISM EVERY TIME.
@@LorianandLothric
Larry was generous in victory.
Ok, I’m not a Nick Wright fan, but this Bird segment is top tier… Bird was insane. Young dudes don’t know… CZcams it. Check out what the dudes who had to guard him say.. All of them. They openly tell you. Bird destroyed them..
Larry had BETTER seasons in '87 and '88...50/40/90 Club BOTH seasons
He's the first player to do that
Bird has to be better than Kobe. Bird was the better player for longer. More MVPs. Had more impact on his team winning. Was a leader
Kobe Bryant had a longer prime than Larry Bird had a career but anyway...
He's definitely in the top 10!!! 💪
Before all the new fans who think the nba started with lebron yes houston was at one point considered an eastern conference team. Along with the spurs… so nick was actually right about that
Who was gonna question that tho lol
You got kids these days saying he shouldn't be in the top 10 GTFOH!!!
Bird is a Top 5, perhaps Top 2 depending on the argument!
You should sell this as one long video. I mean the whole countdown
Kobe and Duncan above Larry is just casual boi tings.
You can’t take seriously someone’s opinion on Bird gleaned exclusively from watching three highlight films on youtube which is sort of obvious if you’ve ever heard Nick talk about Larry, it’s just tropes and rumors like you can always tell a casual who doesn’t want people to know they don’t actually know.
Although even if you’ve just watched three highlight films on youtube I’m still not sure how you’d rank Duncan or Kobe above Larry 🤣
And you literally can’t put Magic at 4 and put Larry at 7 when Larry was clearly the better baller and I say that with love and respect for Magic but that’s just embarrassing 🤣
Duncan yes
Kobe no
I can’t take nick serious because of his Jordan at 3 smh
Jordan at 3 is too high tbh
Bird at #7 is too low IMO. Bird never had the luxury of playing with Shaq or with Kareem. And Bird played in the much tougher Eastern conference during his career. I have Bird as the better and more complete player than Kobe and Magic and Duncan. To be specific, Bird was a better shooter and passer and rebounder than Kobe, a better shooter and rebounder and defender than Magic and a better shooter and passer than Duncan. Perhaps longevity hurts Bird, but Bird is IMO the most complete player we have seen.
I'll take Legend's 736 win percentage over Lebron's 647 and Kobe' 621, every time!!
How is Kobe above larry
Defense and rings.
You can't have Kobe above this guy. This guy let his teammates play then took over in the end.
Larry had a better squad most of his career. After shaq left kobe had no help for a while. Larry never had to deal with that.
Much respect to Pippen, but Jordan didn't have a top 20 player of all time. Pippen is more like top 40 all time...and that's being nice.
Depends on how you judge him. In terms of individually how good he was, you are right. But in terms of what he was able to do in the league, I'd have him around top 25.
@@im_an_alien196 completely depends on the team. I think he could easily be as valuable to a team as most of the players 20-30
Delusional. If pippen ain’t that good then how come they was a blown call away from the finals without Jordan in between the 2 3-peats?
@@FORTYSIXTWENTYSEVEN I think you are confusing the Bulls with another team. They lost in the 2nd round that year. They lost Jordan but they also added a bunch of role players and Scottie obviously played great too. They did struggle the next year tho
Scottie was the team’s best defender, the playmaker and the 2nd best scorer
He was also a serious MVP candidate in 94
Bird too low in this list but some youngsters stupidly put him lower so it could be worse.
When Kobe is above bird you know this list is a joke!
Larry would be a good rotation player today
Nah if luka and jokic can dominate so could Larry.
Ratio.
Jenna, worst take ever.
Seriously wtf is she talking about 😂
Shaq should be ahead
Funny
