This soloing series has been super cool to watch especially as someone who wants to improve their improvisation. I loved the attitude of your "tense" section even if it the tension was the one major critique you had of this solo. It might've slowed the playing down but it the musical tension of going so hard for the remainder was really cool.
These solo analyses are so entertaining. After a primal emotional experience of hearing an improv on a simple beat, you then get the analytical part, which is very subtle and delicate.
this is my favourite solo so far! your playing is so fluid and clean but also so dissonant at times, reminds me of Steve Howe from Yes. Please keep up the music making Ben
your guitar soloing and approach to music is (kind of) reminiscent of the legendary Bill Harkleroad aka Zoot Horn Rollo of Magic Band fame..beautifull dissonance that makes my ears happy. loving the series
Great analysis! I loved the aggressive down picking part and didn't really notice that it changed the way you played the rest of the solo, but it was well worth the added tension imo.
I'm really enjoying the frequent uploads. Anytime I'm getting burnt out musically, be it my own playing or simply what to watch on YT, Ben Levin is there to stimulate the creativity. Thanks!

“I did what you’re supposed to do. Make a mistake, repeat it a bunch of time, and make it into a thing.”

Such a tasty solo
More accurate squiggles. We need this information. Again, please continue this series!!!
thanks for the vids, very intriguing!
sometimes tense is needed. We face the physicality of the instrument and playing and for me thats great. Hit that fuckin thing hard if you want to.

Thanks!
Nice solo. You improved since I last watched your video a couple years ago. Also you seem less depressed :-)

coolio!
The headphone wire came in between your fingers, but it seemed not to distract you from your focus on the solo.
these are cool to watch. explaining your thoughts and why you make decisions is interesting
