I was in the Leeds main stand when this goal went in. The roar was deafening. One of the greatest goals I have ever seen even to this day. Tony Yeboah thank you for the great memory as a kid. I will never forget it.
I was East Stand, best goal I've ever seen live. Flew to Spain the next day, had the worst headache through excited stress, I was 11. Family crunched paracetamol into a glass of orange juice for me. I'll never see a live goal better than Yeboah. Absolute legend
Then he scored a crossbar goal against Wimbledon. How he repeated that in the same season is beyond me. Was one of the best players Leeds had in the early years of the PL.
as a kid after this goal and then the next months wonder goal against wimbledon every kid myself included was desperate to score a goal that thumps off the crossbar and shout yeboah
I think his Wimbledon goal was better as it involved everything. Chest. Control. Knee. Dribbling. Changing direction. Defenders coming in. Half volley. Top corner. Everything. Obviously this is good too.
Nah nah this goal is the best one the power he got off the volley plus when it hits the crossbar and bounces up and down it makes it look even better. I have the same birthday as yeboah that's my claim to fame haha
One of the best premier league goals of all time. Sky sports mentioned it tonight so thought I'd go back and give it another look. Still a thing of beauty
Same here me and my dad will always have a look back to this goal now and again just for a sweet reminder of the past and the brilliance of the goal and yeboah
I was 13 and we started closely following the premier league with a friend of mine. On the very first season was this goal scored. I remember TV channels listing it as the top goal scored in the season (the second was his goal against Wimbledon, the third was of Kinkladze). I have yet to see such a goal since 95. That the ball hit the post was spectacular.
I was 6 years old and was at this game. I have a vague memory. Remember not really being interested in the football at the time just used to sit and play with another kid sat behind me. The crowd just shot up all of a sudden and i was left in my seat wondering what on earth was going on. Adults just jumping up all around me haha. My old man picked me up and put me on his shoulders and I just remember it was so so loud and pretty terrifying at the time haha

The commentator said "you won't see a more spectacular goal all season". Well I've yet to a see a more spectacular goal in the following 24 seasons.

There was a better goal within 28 days.... scored by Tony Yeboah, haha.

Theres always something special about a goal that smashes the under side of the cross bar and bounces inside the goal line on to the roof of the net.

This is the harder technique though. The actual strike, this is more difficult to score than the other one. It was a good goal too

Imagine having Peter Drury's commentary on this goal!!!. It will be amazing

In the East Stand that night for one of the best goals I've ever seen live...
even at 50 y/o - this and the Roberto Carlos free kick in '98 v France are indelibly stamped on my brain.
Same here me and my dad will always have a look back to this goal now and again just for a sweet reminder of the past and the brilliance of the goal and yeboah
The greatest thing I have ever seen. ⚽
What a legend this guy is right goal remember it well ❤
As a Man United fan, I love this. It’s such a great goal
People laugh, they will call it folly but we connected like a Yeboah volley

That goal was With his weaker foot. A shooting star at Leeds but the best striker I have seen pull on the white shirt
Two footed striker. Don't know why a bigger club didn't buy him
I support LFC and I love that goal. There I said it! You just have to tip your hat, it was superb!
One of my greatest LEEDS UNITED time, and i am so old that i Remember SUPERLEEDS 😊.
MOT
1:05 ...this guy knew it was going to happen
Am a Liverpool fan but every kid was out playing the next day shouting yeboah when trying to bang one in
this lukewarm commentary was just added on afterwards. He described it like a tap-in. Not the original commentary.
Was my 15th birthday I was in the Liverpool end great goal
What's the name of the commentator?. His voice takes me back
What a strike!. Damn shame about the picture qaulity. Hope these get refurbished and re posted.x
Best goal to watch.
2 Gk can’t save it inevitable.
Boom shack a lacka

Yeboah was awesome. Would've definitely scored over a 100 Premier league goals if he stayed in the division for longer.
