Heard it? Hell, I have Played it! Lol😊
That is one sick old Telecaster. I wish I had an old Tele or Strat from the 50's or early 60's $$$.
They certainly don't make em like that anymore! It must sound AWESOME plugged into an old blackface. Your Dad was an incredible guitar player and musician. Those old jazz cats ruled.
Wow!! Love it!
This is absolutely Awesome
His playing is still Influential today as it was 70 years ago
Thank You Thank You
Met HR. In LA at 12 years old - so in Awe he was such a huge inspiring soul - possibly why I’ve played guitar for a living my entire life as I do today “ On 240 gigs a year cruise ships these days “””” Thankyou thankyou thankyou Howard Roberts “ 100% awesome videos guys -- love & respect for life Kenny Holliday
Multidimensional Genius
If I recall correctly, in the film documentary "The Wrecking Crew" they credit the guitarist Tommy Tedesco as being the guitarist on the theme to "The Twilight Zone".
Yes and Bonanza
I have heard many stories about who played the theme song to Bonanza, The twighlight zone..and many others Tommy Tedesco..Howard Roberts...even Jimmy Page..Goldfinger..vs Tommy Tedesco..I really don't know who to believe...really..!!!
while it’s true that many session have more than one guitar player on the date, the AFM ( musicians union) royalty statements show exactly who played on what and when. The other clue is in the tone and playing. HR has a very recognizable approach and sound, unmistakable, once you’re familiar with it. But ultimately, the AFM logs have the accurate info.
This is beyond GREAT
Unbelievable! Yes I have heard that guitar many times!
Great videos guys ! Mr Roberts was a great influence for lots of aspiring guitar players of my generation ! Thanks
Thank you Blaine!
Antelope Freeway is one of my favorite records ever.
Great! Recognize all of the theme songs from TV's golden age - and HR was a key part of it.
Way cool!
Hey Adrian....wow, its been a minute since the Brian Moore days...I still play those Guitars. Love Them and the family that they come from. Those were some Wonderfull times at NAMM. Thanks man!
Loooove this doc about a grandmaester
Where is Fender custom shop on this? They did Bob Bain's "Son of a Gunn" tele. Now we need HR's carved tele and Tommy Tedesco's cigarette burned tele.
Awesome stuff!
Oh, this is too cool. Was thinking about HR this morning and Bam! Looking forward to exploring your videos.,👍🏼 Cheers from Seattle 🍻 Alex
These session and the documentary is amazing. I'd love to see footage of HR and Joe pass playing together. I saw a photo of them with their guitars so I'm wondering if theres footage.
What year was this Tele? Where did he purchase it? Was it at a request of a composer? Why am I asking all these questions?
52
