The amount of people who leave their car in reverse or neutral as they are getting out of it... is absolutely mind boggling.
Man, I saw an older lady drop her change out of the window attempting to pay at a toll booth. She missed the machine, got out of the car to pick up the change and off went her car right through the gate into traffic.
Happened to me once back in my 20's. Been meticulous about checking what gear the car is in before getting out, releasing parking brake, etc. since that time lol.
thats why new cars automatically put the car into park when you open the door.
It's amazing isn't it? It's not like a manual car where you have to leave it in neutral and engage the separate handbrake should you want to leave the engine on.

3:14 - The chaos in this clip was great. The obvious panic when the fireworks were lit WAY too close to the people, then the calm, and finally all hell breaks loose because those fireworks are NOT done exploding the crap out of your front yard.

@@chocolatefrenzieya We were heading to work and we saw the front wheel of the car in the opposite lane simply detach itself and continued rolling along while the now 3-wheeled car lurched precariously to a stop. Thankfully, everyone behind the guy brought themselves to a stop. And the wheel lost momentum and fell over before it reached the nearby intersection.

I legit have sympathy and empathy for the slips and falls and sliding downwards because on several if not many occasions have had that happen more than once. And let me tell you it's not the best feeling in the world and downright scary. At any given moment you could loose your life in the process or get a traumatic brain injury.

Buddy actually thought he could stop the vehicle with his own super strength.... it really surprises me how many people forget to put the vehicle in park.
It really surprises me how many people think they're strong enough to stop a moving vehicle.
Well, it's not like they forget to put in on park everyday. Things like that become muscle memory that we do automatically and when something happens to distract the usual routine, things like the video clips happen. Unfortunately it gets worse with age. Same thing for trying to stop it physically. You and I thought about it and know that we should GET IN or get out of the way but anybody who hasn't thought about it is going to be desperate when it happens. Maybe you guys already knew all this and was just making light comments about it and I'm responding way too seriously....

Grown able bodied people stealing from porches is absolutely crazy to me.
what's even worse is that they steal random sht they dont really know what it is.....
if someone breaks into your house and steals a computer, or gaming console, you know they probably sold it to make money.
that doesnt justify it, but it's more rational than just taking some random shit that might have no resale value.......it might be some medical results.......or a bag of spices that cost you 3usd but you couldnt find in a local store......or anything else.
Physically, they're grown up mentally, not so much.

I set the clip to replay 1:18-1:21, and noticed his right flip-flop flies left, while the left one flies right, quite an amazing feat. Also, he spills his drink on the retaining wall, and narrowly avoids hitting it with his head. He appears to _almost_ steady himself on the wall, but his hand slips off. I'm sure it must've hurt, but holy shit that was hilarious. Crazy that he had the mental capacity to hold his cup right way up as he slid down, I don't think there can have been a whole lot left in it, but hey, he gave it a shot.
If only there was a brake that you could use when you park the car. Maybe some kind of "parking brake".

When it comes to snow, I actually had a fail. In the early morning hours of MLK Day last year, I was impacted by a snowstorm that dumped 23.4 inches of snow here (22.8 inches from the main event and 0.6 inches from the lake effect snow afterwards). I was helping my neighbor across the street with shoveling her driveway. The snow was so heavy/packed that when I went to go lift it up to shovel, the shovel snapped in two pieces.
