I have no delusions of the mistakes Labour has made in the past. I really hope they sort out their ministers this time around and don't pile portfolios on single ministers like last time. But I have no doubt. If it weren't for Jacinda and her government. NZ would have suffered far worse from COVID. There is no way National would have locked the country down as fast as Labour would, they'd care too much about the economy and we'd probably end up like Aussie or worse. Now the question is how well can Labour help us recovered. We're all in this together, we need unity.

The implosion of the national party leading up to the election could itself be a video:
    Simon bridges era
    - Jami LR (national MP) teasing the media about helping Simon Bridges (national leader) hiding donations from a Chinese investor (during the time of HK unrest, camps, etc) resulting in the crazies in the national party changing allegiance to Advance NZ later on.
    - their shared racist comments about Chinese being more valued than an Indian or even one of their MPs Maureen Pugh
    - Simon bridges calling for an early lockdown lift being received poorly
    Todd muller era
    - all things mentioned in video
    - nikki kaye (national deputy leader) mislabeling one of their MPs as Maori (further showing unfamiliarity within the party)
    Judith Collins era
    - attacking the Labour Party response to covid as extreme which was against the general response of nz. Would have been better off endorsing Ashley bloomfield and disassociation the successful covid response to Labour.
    - mentioned things in the video about the patient info leaks.
    - constant internal conflict within the national party of who to lead.
    - gerry Brownlee odd conspiritorial tones about covid and people finally fed up with how he handled the Christchurch rebuild.
    - very loose attacks around the very end saying Labour will introduce a wealth tax ( ardern already said they won't do), some weird comments about obesity being a choice.
This was a display of disunity and distrust within the party, opposing one of their mottos of a "strong team" and no one likes an insecure team. Potential national voters bled off to NC, advanceNZ, act, and apparently some voted Labour so they have 'no reason to form a coalition with the loony left greens' because 'slightly left is better than complete left'.
The financial hole in the national party budget was especially bad because it mirrored the time Steven Joyce (national party minister of finance) was singing bloody Mary about a Labour fiscal hole. For the 'good-for-business' national party to itself have a fiscal hole isn't going to end well.

Where I come from, India, we've got the "First Past The Post" system and its so messed coz you have a majority party who takes like 250ish seats out of 500 with just 30% of the total votes cast. • @Soliloquy084

I could probably make a whole video about New Zealand's switch to MMP. But here is the cliff notes: Prior to 1996 we had FPTP, the same as the UK has today. Under this system third parties found it hard to gain representation. In 1978 the third biggest party (Social Credit) got 16% of the vote but only one seat. The public became disillusioned with the situation, and Labour buckled to pressure and campaigned on promise to establish a Royal Commission into the electoral system. Ultimately, that commission recommended MMP. For years politicians sidelined the issue but National eventually buckled to public pressure too, and ran a series of referendums on the electoral system in 1992 and 1993, in which the public backed changing to the MMP system. The following 1996 election became the first to be run under MMP. A confimational referendum was run in 2011 which retained the system.

Your closing statement “the left becoming the new centre” speaks a lot to the working class/lower income families/voters desires for representation and to hold the rich/powerful to accountable. In NZ, polling of centre right National party voters had showed that 35% of its voters support greater taxation on the rich. Mind, National voters them self tend to be of higher income than other party voters. Within this centre right party itself, it’s interesting that a not-insignificant number of them support this quite liberal policy. This generally follows global trends where there has seen a greater support for taxation on the rich.
I think that in conjunction with Ardern’s prioritisation of a welfare govt., National’s leadership being in shambles right now (interesting, as 2011, 2008 Nat campaign marketing greatly emphasised their “talent” w handling the economy, i’m not exactly sure why they didn’t emphasise this more), Ardern has been able to swing the right-leaning centre voters.
I feel like it’s less swinging the country further left as you said, but rather creating a new normal for the roles of government as a welfare-state in a post-covid world where countries over seas has seen an insurgence of populism.

I see the centrist 'left' as investing in the people who are the general work force, the economy' iand ensuring work for NZers rather than importing seasonal labourers and cheaper workers. Supporting apprenticeship schemes and education and training for real jobs, rather than focusing on qualifications that force people off-shore to be properly remunerated. Housing and infra-structure were always going to take more than 3 years to organise and get going; the national party have criticised this despite a year being lost to covid - at the same time announcing they would sell off any houses built by the state, and consistently denying the homelessness that ballooned under their governance.

The problem with covering the German election is the language. I'd need to find another creator to work with, I can think of a couple like khanubis or Will Fox (who both have lived in Germany) but their channels are larger than mine so they would probably want to make the videos for their own channels.
Basically, those videos would happen if my channel grows. So if people want them, the only things you guys can do is share the content.

Agreed. Despite rhetoric from outsiders that NZ now has a hardline sOciAliSt gOverNmeNt the Lab's under Ardern will likely be even more centrist than where they currently are, with some exceptions and particularly for social issues. Flipping 14 traditionally blue electorates, including some rural ones is a good incentive for them to be incremental (i.e. snails pace) and not rock the boat.

This might get me in a bit of trouble, but here goes.
I hope that Rawiri Waititi holds Waiariki. I'd say there's a 60-40 chance of that happening because the big parties have the resources to chase special votes, and Waititi has an election night majority of just 415.
Here's why I hope he stays:
Parliament needs more than 4 parties. It's supposed to represent NZ. NZers have more than just that. Having a diverse range of views expressed and represented in our parliament is good for a representative democracy, especially if those views are a check on power or a form of criticism of government.
Secondly I'm glad that there is a Maori voice in Parliament that doesn't have to conform to caucus collective responsibility and the whip-system of a major party.
Thirdly, it's a good thing that Labour's monopoly over the Maori seats is challenged. So long as Labour wins the Maori seats every year without having to fight for them there is a major incentive to neglect them and not deliver; for them to say: "who cares? We'll win them anyway".
Labour cannot take the Maori seats for granted anymore, and that's a good thing.
In order to win elections governments must appeal to swing voters, not voters they will always win, and likewise voters who will never vote for them. If Labour actually has to fight for those votes, they might start delivering.
