    Well they didn't bestow a Knighthood on you for nothing. "Tuning" a saw blade with a tuner: Extra genius! Thank you very much for the advice

    Cool thanks, been thinking about this as a first scroll saw. I used to love using one as a kid and I'm planning to have some projects I could use one for soon.
    This answers a lot of my questions about the carbatec, so thanks!

    Very helpful..I have 50+ blades but I can't use them coz I can't tighten when it's on that "thing" n keep it straight n locked..it's stressful.. also the noise n jumping of my projects because of thar black stopper or whatever the name is...I don't regret watching at all..thanks bro👏...give us more

    I have used that pinless conversion from Axminster for quite a while now. They ALWAYS break from metal fatigue after about 50 uses. They break at the "U" where the right and left side meet. However, for the price, I still used them. I figure its just the price of doing business as there really arent any alternatives.

    I have the 'Record'. I went to a local sewing shop and bought a second hand foot peddle. Blade adapter from Timbecon, and the white 4mm board. Now its 'OK'.

    I've been thinking about getting the pinless adapters as my cheapo saw only takes pinned blades. Now I'm definitely sold!

    • @TheWoodKnight
      @TheWoodKnight  Před 3 lety +1

      It has an *amazing* dollar-and-time-cost-per-value-added-to-the-saw ratio. 5mins, you'll be up and running and wondering why this isn't the stock clamp!

      @@TheWoodKnightJust came across your video. And I also smh. As to why these scroll saws come with the pinless clamps, that are rubbish. Mine fits at such a forward slant. That I can’t even use pinless blades. Thanks for the video ❤

    I have had a proxxon saw ( germany) for a while and the adapters which you showed are not at all reliable due to constant use of inner cuttings the tightening mechanism wears off😊I had to buy it thrice . I am maybe off- topic but seeing those clamps I thought I will share my expereince.

    • @TheWoodKnight
      @TheWoodKnight  Před 3 lety

      Unfortunately it seems like its "just a thing" in the scrollsaw world - seeing reports that even Hegner clamps wear out over time, some batches made from worse pot steel than others. How long has the adapter/clamp lasted per set?
      Olson's "AC49610" conversion kit is a similar type of system, but it seems to be a hybrid between both the old and new system, and at ~3x the cost I'm not sure its any better.
      Pegas have a much better clamp head system again, but it costs about half the price of my saw!
      (keep in mind, I'm very much a novice with the tool so I'm going by what I've read!)

    • @MultiTom1956
      @MultiTom1956 Před 3 lety

      @@TheWoodKnight it lasted about three months and also depends on if the fret work is detailed the threading and tightening becomes too many times plus with an allen key it's cumbersome 😊. Pegas saw is the Rolls Royce of saws and it's beyond our budget like you said . Some day God willing I shall buy😊

    It's a pain on the neck when it comes to straight cuts especially when making angles..is there a way to make a fence for scroll saw,my cuts are awful I gave up on angle cuts..for instance, 45°, my work keeps turning n when am joining them I have to do lots of sanding to be able to come up with a good look on my work😡

    cool do those clamps work on Ryobi too?

    • @dejanveselinovic9562
      @dejanveselinovic9562 Před 3 lety +2

      They are a universal fit, you just use the screw that holds your stock blade hold assembly and it is done.
      I recomend you buying a set from Timbecon, one tip - don't put too much tension on the blade holder with the screw, the blade holder can crack and break easily.
      Mine did but it is still functional

    • @TheWoodKnight
      @TheWoodKnight  Před 3 lety +1

      DJ Partysounds beat me to it - yes, will work on Ryobi/Rikon/Axminster/Timbecon/bunch of others as pretty much guaranteed as they're the same saw, but should even work on other saws that aren't identical, so long as you use the screws from your own saw.
