  • @lizhe2914
    @lizhe2914 Před 4 lety +38

    the problem here is that the ring finger ALWAYS gets in the way of the 1st string and so what happens is that it completely mutes the sound. i found that if you switch the middle finger and index finger position, it helps to prevent that. it might not be the proper "form" but if it works, then who really cares lol.

      Elorabora it helps a lot to practice the changes without a strum pattern. For example play a G and F over and over again without a strum pattern so when you start the strum pattern it’ll be much easier. Good luck!!!

    Hey! I just got my ukulele yesterday, actually bought two. I have a tenor and soprano. I was having trouble with the G chord, but I figured it out. When I was playing, the strings almost muted, and I was so confused and wasn't sure if I was pressing too hard, or too light. Basically, what I was doing was not pressing hard enough and touching my other fingers on the other string(s).
    What I did was practiced curving my fingers more when I layed them on the strings, and then I pressed very hard on the strings. This way when you press hard it makes the string shorter, which makes the sound different. Because I'm new to playing, I already have some blisters and sore fingers from playing, but after a while of practice you will get used to it and your fingers will be more calloused, so that will help you play.
    Hope this helps! :)

    If it only sounds like one string is playing, try pressing really hard the the strings. It worked for me and now the sound is beautiful!

    Hi! I got my ukulele a few weeks ago and I got most of the beginner chords down but G is so hard for me. Every time I try and play the chord, the C string is always muted no matter what I do. Could you please help? :(

    This came as a great help for my ululele homework: practicing the d7 and g chord. I'm advanced in my class, so my teacher sends me HARD work. I know how to play g7, c, f, c7, and now d7, but g chord, UGHHHHH!

    I know where to put my fingers it’s just that when I play the chord it sounds bad. I’ve been playing the uke for 3 years and I just can’t get it :(
    G and G7 sound alike kinda, do you have to learn them both?

    Awesome! I was struggling with understanding how to grip the cords (bending my fingers!) and you're video has helped me find a good way to find that position! Now I've got a nice clean g cord.
    Thank you!
