    Holy Schmoly!! Super fantastic, awesome, fabulous, incredible, beautiful, unique, ultra special canes! I'm not sure if you can tell how much I LOVE these.. and so thrilled that there's a part 1 as well. I can't WAIT to try these. They're so different from all the other cane tutorials I've seen. Thank you so much for sharing and showing. YAY.

    I'm not a very good cane maker but I seem to do best on leaf canes. They are one of my favorite things to make for making fairy houses and such. Just saw this on Instagram. Thank you for this video. I'm going to check and see if I am subbed it to you and if I am not I will be.

    These are beautiful. You’re a very good instructor. I don’t understand though why so much work is done and then they’re reduced so significantly that you can’t see the details you put in, like the translucent. It was just a tiny, tiny bit. You’ll never be able to see the result. Everybody reduces too much, IMO.

    I must really stink at this because my leaves look nothing like yours. Yours are stunning and sharp, while mine do not have the fine detail as yours. I'm using Premo. How do you make it so clean looking? Your work is so beautiful. 😪

    • @TheARKreations
      @TheARKreations  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! Definitely don't be discouraged, I've been doing canes for years and even now sometimes they don't turn out the way I want. It's hard to say why yours come out the way they do without seeing it, but here's a few things to think about - is your clay really soft? I do use Premo as well, but I'm very used to its softness so in the years I've been working with it I definitely adjusted. If yours is too soft for you try leaching it a little. Are your hands always warm? Warm hands can be a contributing factor as well, especially if your clay is very soft, try resting the elements/canes between stages. Are you rushing? When we rush, we tend to "overdo it" so to speak, and that's where mistakes can happen - take your time, tutorials are not a good indicator of realistic timing, I think this video had about 4hrs of raw footage, not counting all the behind the scenes things, and we edited it down to 20 min! If you have trouble with reduction try practicing on some scrap clay - make a very basic cane and reduce it in the shape you want, as many times as necessary, until you start feeling how the clay moves under your fingers. It's one of those instances where it would differ from artist to artist, finding the perfect pressure and balance. Hope this was helpful, and please feel free to reach out if you have more questions! Good luck! (if it's easier for communication, I have a facebook and an insta page, instagram.com/thearkreations/ , facebook.com/thearkreations )

    I give up. I appreciate you speeding things up so the video isn't too long, but you speed up too soon. I have watched over and over (yes, pausing and rewinding sections at a time) and I cannot follow you.

    • @TheARKreations
      @TheARKreations  Před rokem +1

      I'm sorry for the trouble, it's definitely hard to time it all just right. There is a function you can select to slow down the video - while watching the video find the little gear icon on the bottom - settings, select "playback speed", the default is on "normal" but to slow down the video hit on the speeds above it, like 0.75, 0.5. I hope that helps

      @@TheARKreations thank you for taking the time to answer me. in the meantime, the green fanfold cane made perfect grass for another project, and the teal/green cane that I completely ruined as far as leaves go, make really pretty designs when sliced and rolled again. but I will keep trying!

    • @TheARKreations
      @TheARKreations  Před rokem

      I've been doing clay for about 10 years now, and I'll tell you, even now not all my canes come out the way I want them to. It's all a learning curve and tutorials definitely make it look easier than it is! Lots of editing happening behind the scenes. Feel free to reach out with any questions, I don't want you to feel discouraged because canes are awesome :)

    Another pointless tutorial. Why make a movie when you skip certain steps. Suddenly these colors rolled out and combined.

    • @TheARKreations
      @TheARKreations  Před rokem

      I mostly skip basic steps, like making a gradient - there are many good tutorials on that already. Do you have trouble with a specific step?
