An excellent tutorial! Getting back to the clay again, and it's been a few years since i made tiny flowers, so this was a great refresher...thank you!👍✌️😊
Naw thank you! So glad you found it helpful! ☺️🌸
This was so very helpful! The visual aid of the drawings was wonderful. Thank you so much!
My pleasure! So glad you found it helpful ☺️
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊❤️
You're a great presenter and Teacher!!!! ❤ 👍 Thanks! Some questions: Where do I learn how to roll out clay for flowers and bake the clay? Thanks
That’s so lovely of you to say 🥰 thank you!
Rolling out clay for flowers is the same process you would use for earrings - you can roll out flat with a rolling pin on a tiled surface or you can use a pasta machine. We cover this in our tutorial ‘stop polymer clay sticking in your cutters’. I generally roll out thinner though for flowers to about 1.5mm before cutting out my petal shapes.
Baking instructions are on the clay packet in terms of temperature and timing. If you have a flower that is not able to be flat baked, you can sit it up in a small bowl of uncooked rice. I hope that helps 😊
That's one of the best tutorials I've ever seen on flower making ❤ I'm learning and the diagrams are very helpful. Soo good! Can you make a leaf tutorial by any chance?
Aw thank you! Yes, I will add a leaf tutorial to our list!
Thank you for starting-blocks this tuto Witherspoon us vers helpfull👏🤗
Happy to help! Glad you found it useful 😊
Lovely tutorial. TY. How do you bake the blue flowers? Do you use something to hold them up?
Thank you 😊 You can place your standalone pieces in a small bowl of uncooked rice. It will not mess up your shape and you can keep it to reuse next time you need it 😊 I have also used silicone molds (ensure they are oven safe silicone first) to help prop up my pieces. Hope that helps!
the back of a small teaspoon can replace the proper ball tools.
That’s a great suggestion for an at home solution 😊 Good thinking!
❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much for making this video!! Newbie here 😊 May I ask ~ what is your favorite clay to use?
Our pleasure 😊 It depends on what I’m making. I mainly use sculpey Premo and sculpey Souffle, but also love the colour range and types of clay cernit has. For florals, sculpey Premo and cernit number one are great all rounders but my current favourite is cernit opaline for its ceramic like finish! Hope that helps 😊
@@myclayco yes! Thank you - happy crafting 😌
Ugh I saw this video a few days ago & I FINALLY got all the right tools for it today & I've been at it for hours now & can't seem to get the ball tool to glide smoothly around the clay like yours does. My clay keeps sticking to the tool & just dragging. So I used a bit of cornstarch on the ball which worked PERFECTLY, but then the clay was too dried out to stick inside each petal & when I used the dotting tool, it won't let go of the petal🤦🏻♀️
Hmmm I’m wondering if your clay is too warm or soft. What brand is the clay? Do you live/work in a hot or humid place?
@@myclayco well it's actually just like a regular kind I got off Amazon & it has been very hot & humid outside but when I work with clay, I always have my air conditioner on in my work space
@@myclayco I have been watching ALL of your videos & learning so much...I've recently started a small business & your channel has been incredibly helpful for me🥰
I want to know if we bend the petals do they break ?
Of polymer clay is baked correctly they shouldn’t break, they would be slightly bendy 😊🌸
What can I do to get rid of unwanted texture on the backside of my petals? Get a smoother foam? I just tried with some leftover flooring insulation foam sheets here but nope. Not working. Too much texture on the outside, need to think of something else.
If you’re after a smooth petal, you’ll definitely need your foam mat to be smooth too. You’ve stumbled upon the trick to get texture on to petals (rolling or pressing on textured surfaces) but if that’s not desired, flat is best 😊
Do you carry the sun & moon cutters for the earrings you're wearing & do you ship to the US?
Yep! We ship to the US daily and the cutters are in our Celestial collection 😊
Hello..how much does a clay change its weight after baking?
Hello! We have actually never tested this so I did today and it barely changes - our tester pieces that were about 3.5g were .05g heavier once baked 😊
@@myclayco thank you so much
What setting did you roll your clay before cutting circles?
I rolled them to about 1.5mm. They don’t need to be too thin to start with because you’ll thin them out while using the ball tools 😊
