    Thanks for the detailed tutorial! I had kind of given up on trying to make polymer clay pieces because most of my attempts were not coming out very well! After watching this, I may try again! Oh and the alcohol ink called baja blue is pronounced baha blue with an h sound! ☺Thanks again! ❤

      Hehe yes, I’ve had a few people let me know about the cheeky “h” 🙈 haha thank you! Def give it a go again, textures are such an easy way to make your pieces look fancy without too much effort! 😊

    Thanks for the video! I’m just starting my clay journey and am learning so much from your channel. Happy to return a tiny bit of the favour - the j in Baja is more of an English h.

      Oh, you are amazing! I knew there was a trick to the pronunciation, I just didn’t know what it was! 😅 Thank you! And happy claying! ❤️

      It’s a wonder anybody could ever learn English lol thank goodness it was my first language. And right now my only language lol I do know very very little Spanish even though I took it in high school. I keep telling my kids who have children that they need to start drilling it into their head now because being bilingual, or any amount of languages, is incredibly helpful. Especially Spanish and Vietnamese in America. Particularly where I live.

      Jacquard named the alcohol inks with Spanish words, places, etc. So Baja is pronounced "Ba-ha". I agree that multilingualism is a very good thing. I was raised by Germans, went through schooling in English, living in a French province. But sadly, no Spanish!

    Love the video and thank you for all the techniques on your channel. And absolutely no hate in this because we’re all playing a game of luck on what unusual words we’ve heard spoken versus only seen on labels, but as someone who grew up near Baja Mexico, every time you said Baja I cracked up all over again. Hilarity.

      Hahaha glad I gave you a little giggle! I knew there was a trick to pronouncing it when I said it but couldn’t remember what it was 😂 Sorry I butchered it! 😅 But thank you for being so kind about it ❤️

    Thank you for all the good advice! I have a question about the thickness gages- when you move from the initial rolling the clay to the tile do you choose a thicker or thinner Guage when rolling over the texture mat on top of the clay and by how much? TY

    • @myclayco
      @myclayco  Před měsícem +1

      Glad you’ve found it helpful! I normally start with 2mm ones, then put the texture on and go to 3mm. So thicker gauge second. Most texture mats I have are about 1mm-2mmish so I find this is enough to get a good imprint depth 😊

    is claro extender the same as blending solution?

    • @myclayco
      @myclayco  Před 19 dny +1

      I think they are similar, but may be slightly different 🤔 I use isopropyl alcohol as a blending solution and it dilutes it a bit more than claro extender seems to.

      @@myclayco I have read making DIY blending solution of 91% rubbing alcohol with a few drops of glycerin.
      Have u tried this method?
      I tried it but I think I had the amounts wrong so I’m going to try again.
      Thank you for your response 🤗

    The blue alcohol that you were having a problem, saying, was it spelled Baja?? If so it pronounced ba-ha

    • @myclayco
      @myclayco  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes! Hehe silly me 🙈 I’ve had a couple of people let me know the correct pronunciation now - knew there was a trick, I just couldn’t remember what it was. Thank you! 🥰

      @@myclayco I noticed that somebody had said it already. But that was after I had already put the comment up. And I thought there would be no harm in leaving it in case somebody else was curious. I often say things wrong too lol they do say the English language is the hardest one to learn. I’m often left. Scratching my head wondering how some of this stuff even makes sense. Like I said, it’s no wonder people struggle and it’s a wonder that anybody ever learns it. Lol especially one who didn’t grow up learning English. By the way, I can’t remember if I already did this or not to very pretty technique for you. I’ve been using some alcohol inks. The other day I was at my sisters house and she has a pool and she had her different testing things out. They were little bottles that looked exactly like alcohol inks. I asked her if that’s what they were and then I immediately realized what they actually were. Then I laughed and said you know you’re an artist, when you see that and automatically assume they are alcohol inks lol I took a picture because it was amazing at how much they did look like alcohol ink bottles. 😂

    Texture mats are another thing I need to get. Once again very little available at the craft stores. So frustrating.

      Yes, texture mats are such great tools! We have a range of mats, but there are also lots of other online small businesses that have cool ones if you can’t get them locally 😊
