Thanks for the shoutout, it was indeed me who suggested we pull the goalie to let Nils Lundkvist score every time he’s on the ice to get that 4th to turn into a 3rd rounder 😂
I feel like Schultz might have gone for a 4th without the Dunn injury. Chances of a 4th becoming much is not that great, so with Dunn out for even a game or two, keeping him makes more sense.
I understand the lack of being opportunistic with Francis, but also, wasn’t he involved in the Kevin Fiala sweepstakes until the last minute? I also heard that prior to the Penguins being the only real competitor for Erik Karlsson, he was also very much in those talks as well. I do think he does have the capability of being opportunistic and has displayed it, though I agree that this offseason is put up or shut up time.
If Ryker is ready and it comes down to playing one of either Ryker or Schultz, put Schultz in the press box imo. You're not losing anything from playing Ryker over Schultz and it really sounds like Schultz was just kept around as an insurance policy. This assumes that the team is conceding that it's not making the playoffs ofc.
Lundqvist is benched after the Tanev acquisition in favor of Jani Hakanpää, so unfortunately I do not think, even with the goalie pulled, that the Kraken will get that conditional upgrade to 3rd :(

In Ron Francis we trust 🙌
We did it, survived with Wennberg loss. But it’s ok, we expect that
Coach Dave loves loves loves him some Justin Schultz. Our only defenseman with a minus rating.
