I lived in So Calif for over 40 years and finally got out in 2009. Torrance, Pasadena, Burbank, and Glendale are OK cities. You could't pay me to live in most parts of Long Beach except on the east side. I will not live in any part of Los Angeles except a small part of Brentwood. Diversity is worst part of So Calif.
I lived in coastal Orange County for over 20 years before I moved out.
Brentwood is definitely a beautiful part of town
This vid should be best areas in Los Angeles County. They are cities not “neighborhoods”. You also left Palos Verdes, Manhattan Beach etc to name a few which are probably far better than ones on this list. Just sayin.

Beverly Hills attracts all sorts of crime. There are safer places.
what is a good area near USC or UCLA?
There are several good areas near UCLA. USC is a little trickier unless you’re right in the campus vicinity. Korea town and DTLA are probably easiest access to USC. UCLA you are in Westwood so have lots of nearby options like Santa Monica, West Hollywood, etc.

Long Beach is a separate city. And it’s very beautiful and affordable.

The Los Angeles Metro area grew at a higher rate in 2023 than it has since the year 2000. 2024 is projected to be even higher. I wish people were leaving Los Angeles. They aren't.
Btw, you know 250k people in a state with 39m is a drop in the bucket,right?
Yeah and then they go and make CA cheaper and places like TX more expensive
