All bots look the same, though. It's just endless mirror matches
Years ago it was quite different. People now have driving experience, they have a lot of experience knowing what to do to beat other specific bots, and of course they know much better how to build bots that can last and do damage. True though, that does tend to push everyone into making one kind of machine that all look the same. To encourage variety, I think the rules would have to favor multiple styles of bot. They already have some of that by allowing heavier weight for certain kinds of bots. Maybe they need to experiment more with the rules.
It’s like my dad once told me: “If you can’t take Ribbot’s head off, you can’t beat it.”

Might be interesting but hydra is doing really well they would have to make a big mistake to lose to ribbot. That said ribbot has a really low fork config they might use against hydra so you never know.

And just like that Black Dragon's season is done. It went from being KO-less for 20+ fights, to being KOed by the #2 seed Riptide, to being KOed AGAIN by Ribbot.
And as expected Minotaur is the last Brazilian bot standing
Minotaur and Black Dragon. Two very durable teams from Brazil.
Minotaur was also a little lucky that Fusion and Malice had reliability problems. It seem to get serious hits from both, but then Fusion caught fire and Malice weapon died, though at least Minotaur withstood them too
@@Giovansbillywell we can't expect every fight to be like minotaur vs cobalt fight but I'm guessing the rematch against saw blaze should be epic

Thank you for the video. You could see that Ribbot's driver knew it wasn't over until Black Dragon stopped moving, it's just that durable. One wrong move and this could have been a very different fight, but they kept at it and ground Black Dragon into submission. Well played.
I have to wonder if Black Dragon's damage from the previous two fights caught up with it this time. We've seen it survive worse. That's taking nothing away from Ribbot's comeback run, let's see how well it fares up against Hydra in the rematch.
So Riptide managed to KO it properly and then BD endured against Ripperoni until it died, but Ripperoni also gave Ribbot a chance to give BD its second KO loss
Dang! Ribbot is REALLY playing the underdog Season 6 Hydra role this season! Where was THIS from Ribbot this year!? They are hitting really hard now and they actually immobilized Black Dragon! Impressive! 🐸👍

Mini rant, but I do agree with this, tbh! So many fights were FOTW material to me, tbh. They should just post some of the ones that made the most impacts here, ahaha. I thought even Madcatter vs HUGE was neat, and SawBlaze vs Monsoon!
Okay, mini rant time (feel free to ignore).
I'm so glad that the controversy streak ended here! I think the "worse" thing that was said was during some "hype" interviews, once again regarding how controversial the team's been, and then Ethan saying "F the haters", but at the same time, I can almost understand that attitude. I wouldn't had said it on national television, but whatevs. xD
But Ethan and Team Riptide were almost back to their Rookie stage; Humble entrance, not doing anything outrageous, or any of that. I wonder if maybe Will's words took a shot with Ethan (he made a great point that they have multiple targets on their backs and someone is gonna give them a shot of humility), and maybe they're finally sinking in..?
Or we'll come back with RT vs Copperhead and something's gonna happen, like they're purposely destroy the minibot that's probably just being piloted by that little boy. :/
We'll see what happens when it happens. But if Ethan and the team can get their act back on track to the humble humans they should be, I may go back to my "neutral/not bad" state of mind about them. It's never about the Bot for me, it's the people, and while I've seen Ray and Jake show their humility at times, I just don't see it with Ethan right now. But even this win against Hypershock wasn't one of those "IN YOUR FACE HAHAHAHAHA!" moments, it was just more swearing than usual - but i expect that from Ethan anyway. :P
Be hard pressed to find a better way to get young people interested in mechanical and electrical engineering. These machines are a grab-bag of numerous engineering skills and disciplines. AND they get to have a great time seeing the results of their work. Brilliant idea! 💡

Oh My Gosh! It's The Battle Of The Giants Again! With Giant Black Dragon Vs Giant Green Red Eye Frog!
That fight was awesome. Both teams held their own. The frog really came out swinging hard and dominant which seems to have made the difference.
This’ll definitely go down in battle bots history along side the very few others to come

This was a nasty fight. I didn’t expect black dragon to be KOed by ribbot after it survived massive hits from ripperoni. Really shows the power of ribbot

The first thing I saw on Ribbot having that spinning thing, I knew it would win. It looks like Riptide. Seems these designs are more common because of their efficiency.

I think that when Black Dragon is on fire, that actually shows it’s scorching rage!
I have an idea for a robot in battlebots, not a design, but idea for a weapon (or moreso trick)
What if there was a robot that had a fog maker on it, or something that produced some sort of smokescreen. Due to how it would not only cover plausibility both robots, it could work as either an escape tool or one to cover up a charged attack.
IIRC, weapons that deliberately obscure visibility are not allowed.

Why do bots with horizontal spinners always attack in the upwards direction? are downward spinning elements allowed? I understand that inertia favors throwing the enemy, but I could see a few choice weapons that would prefer going downwards
You mean vertical spinners? Hitting up is almost always better because hitting down you're just launching yourself. I think huge has the ability to reverse its spinner and it's pretty much the only bot where that is a valid strategy.
This reminds me of the comics of the tiny dragon and his frogs...

I know its reduntant, but Ribbot should run the vertical spinner more often. It hits way harder than the undercutter.

I don’t think that would work considering that hydra can easily flip horizontals. I think the vert would actually be a better option tbh
