Minotaur was just a simple, super solid bot and a genius driver.
Minotaur is mostly being on the Offensive side. I have never seen Minotaur playing as the defensive role on battle, Minotaur is like your typical Attacker. But i believe Beta can defeat minotaur. It has superior durability and its hammer smashes down when it luckily hits, when its hammer is broken it can be used as a wedge instead. And beta has a decent speed which he can chase minotaur around the arena without worrying his bot being damaged due to superior durability
and five times more expensive, due to brazilian coin values.
@@boogeyman3116 Beta was most likely the first ever bot to endure Tombstone so I think that could happen in my opinion.
@@papersparrow899 Luck is also a key for victory, possible Minotaur's weapon is not reached in high speed due to engineering errors, and Beta could possibly use it as a handicap

I think its more the driving. The driver is very good at not only keeping his bot lined up but doesn't overcorrect and is very good at understanding the gyroscopic force of their weapon aswell.
Just life him up with a grappler and saw it from the inside, what sawblaze did.
I cannot express how much I love the fact this is a real thing. It's just one of those ideas that you see in a show or movie and think "Man, I wish we had that" Because it seems so outlandish but fun, so actually seeing these battles happen is absolutely amazing.

The sheer AGGRESSION when the other bot is still moving and then the pure gentleman that comes out when it is clearly over is what I love.
Sportsmanship at its best
It's not actually about gentleman/ spotsmanship behaviour. If the other bot isn't moving and minotaur hits it, there's a chance it can move back again.
As long as the match is ON, there is a risk of minotaur losing. Or getting more damage.
That's not good for them over the competition.
Only do as much as necessary. No need to take unnecessary risks.

Minotaur's driver is so aggressive you can literally see it in his face
The 😬 is real.
All of the robots defeated by the Minotaur had simple attack methods and obvious weaknesses. The Minotaur, on the other hand, was well-designed, and the pilot's fierce and precise charge was an extra-dimensional strength without exposing any weak points to attack.
Shatter was just wackin in with a freaking pointy rod even in pristine condition
What I wouldn't give to be able to see Minotaur v Blacksmith for the first time again, that fight is iconic

A very ingenious design. Minotaur uses the angular momentum of the cylinder to reorient itself, and of course to reorient the enemy.

What is his weapon? I can see that some thing is spinning, but it's not just a cylinder. What is it? Is it some drill for an industrial cutter or something?

@@chertopoloh170 It's about weight. They can't use fortified metal because they'd go over the limit. Also the force involved is insane, the metal they are made of is good.

This randomly popped up and I can't help watching it. These are our gladiators. What is Minotaur's secret? Extra powerful motor? Why is it possible to rip and flip others so easily? I can see the operator has great skill.
From what I can see is minimal design, maneuverability, speed, weight, weapon and redundancy.
It can do quick attacks, grind away heavier opponent's armor away when they are pinned and do quick head on collision attacks that can send them flying.
There is not real counter against his spinner. There is one but it would be against the rules.
It's such a boring bot with very little counters. They do try to "nerf" them but unless a counter weapon can be officially added ( a net ) those types of bots will keep dominating.
@@Farang_Surat Having spinners as main weapons is a double edge sword. Sure, it can deliver powerful attacks when it's in full spinning speed but the recoil of the sudden stop of the spinners destroys the bot as well.
@@amon8977 Seems that vertical spinners have less issues. Most the recoil from Minotaur is redirected into the ground via the metal below the spinner.
@@amon8977 yeah the only times i remember seeing the good spinner bots losing is when they self destruct against the arena walls or obstacles. I noticed Minotaur has the lip at the bottom to stop it ramming into the walls and damaging itself. Although it seems some of the obstacles are actually more flimsy then they look like the hollow hammer.

Whenever Minotaur fights an opponent with a "flipper" weapon it's always a one-sided fight, since Minotaur's self-righting ability and upside-down mobility makes it immune to getting flipped over. The only chance that Minotaur loses in a fight like that is when it gets thrown out of the arena and gets stuck on the screws.
It still has to attend weight constraints, so usually it's less armored in its bottom, compared to the top plate. The team even said that when competing against hammers, they use a thick titanium plate in the top, however, the bot is somewhat unprotected in the bottom, that's why the ability to flip minotaur using its drum's momentum is crucial, and it's driver, Daniel Freitas, has shown how he's capable of driving this bot with only one wheel, using its momentum. That's insane.
Only an idiot would design a turtle bot anyway.

What kind of a drum is it? I can't see what is it spinning there.
@@KulaGGin minotaur's spinning drum weights over 70 pounds, spinning over 11k RPM (250mph). The vehicle (or bot, if you wish) as a whole is waaaaaay over 100 pounds.
I'm a big fan of Minotaur, the father of the rotating drum, pulverizer of the Pulverizer.

Minotaur is an unflappable durable bot, with powerful weapon, great speed/maneuverability. And his pilot is highly skilled. What a deadly combo
You have to give Blacksmith respect... Going head-on relentlessly with a hammer until the end. The differences in weapon damage is like watching a deer chase a wolf.

I love how laser-focused that driver is. You could set FIRE to his pants and he wouldn't flinch until the fight is 100% over.

You can see in the Blacksmith fight he was showing them mercy. He knew he had won and did not want to ruin the other teams bot but they kept coming so he had to put them down.
Unlike pilots of SawBlaze, who seem to me exact opposite - I have won, but let's do as much damage before the countdown ends...
At least we can say that black Smith did Not Go down without a Fight.

my two favourite bots. I would say that it would be a very onesided match
but i am not sure onesided for whom... If minotaur can chew the wheels of huge, its game over since he can also push him around. On the other side If he cant chew the wheels then Huge has the full power even if being pushed, cause that blade from above is unique in its positioning and way of hitting.

@@pasmas3217 due to its max rpm on minos drum (thus higher chance of its teeth hitting first than getting hit) i could actually see minotaur winning this by hitting weapon on weapon and sending that kinetic shock upwards right into the middle section of Huge where it has been proven to be most fragile. but it could go either way as usual with spinning weapons hitting each other.

Minotaur vs Blacksmithis is one of my favorite fights ever. Not only because Minotaur is aggressive, brutal and extremely skilled champ, but also because Blacksmith didn't quit until it was able to move and kept swinging and fighting with all its might even after getting torn apart piece by piece. Defeat by knock out, that's the way to go in these fights! Never back down! Never surrender! Until the bitter end!
And the other fights are great too! Especially Shatter and Bronco

😆 i feel the same when playing crossout and i see people with 4 wheels exposed.
Wheel guards can also be a major risk, as they get damaged they themselves may jam the wheel up. Besides, as bots prove more and more, you don't need wheel guards, you just need to make tougher wheels.
@@EgorKaskader Yes, you can't have sh*tty armor and expect to be safe in every battle. Wheels are not welded like armor, most will just pop right off from a drum/blade spinner hit. And if your design does not consider the risk of armor jaming the wheels, good luck next year.

I liked how Minotaur's pilot was respectful towards robots that clearly lost before the KO was called and just sat there waiting for the victory to be officially declared rather than keep destroying others' creation. He is a man of honor.

Destroying a meticulously crafted machine and shattering the hearts of the opposing team is truly exceptional.
My got so simple yet so powerful. On a last fight there is a clear vision of all the Minotaur power, tanking direct hits, ripping opponent into shreads, ripping the area weapons if they stand in a way.

Riobot's Minotaur is super robust and very agressive. Great bot from Brazil!
The simpler the bot is, the more powerful it is going to be.
On that note, I'd love to see a bot where it's primary weapon is simply being fast while having extremely heavy armor. Due to the weight limit, the bot wouldn't be very big, but with powerful enough drive motors it could do serious damage by simply ramming into other bots. If the armor was something crazy like inch thick steel, then even the most brutal spinning weapons wouldn't be able to damage it and it could probably disable spinning weapons by simply ramming them so hard that the spinning weapon either breaks or damages its own bearings
The Minotaur never attacks downed enemies. It has aesthetics and is very gentlemanly.
The Blacksmith fight reminds me of the pangram “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”.
The Minotaur just runs circles about the slow and clumsy Blacksmith, and seems unaffected by its toy hammer.
