- In this scene Elizabeth Hartman delivers a passionate performance as the wife of sheriff Buford Pusser. Although her acting scenes were very limited in this movie she always managed to bring a certain realness to any role she played & her role as Pauline Pusser is no exception.Often underrated Elizabeth Hartman is truly one of the many forgotten Hollywood stars whose work we still love & appreciate today.

Remember Secret of NIMH? She was the perfect voice for Ms. Brisby!
Wow, I'd know the voice of Mrs. Brisby anywhere but I never knew that Elizabeth was such a good actress. I'm so sad about her death, her illness. I wish that she had lived in a time when depression was better understood and more treatable.
You should see her in A Patch Of Blue. That was her first film and what put her and Sidney in the spotlight.
I agree, life was more rough for women when she was alive, definitely. Always makes me sad when I read/watch that part of history. You'll watch old movies and the women will have a happy ending, they're mentally well. But in real life, it simply wasn't like that..
Elizabeth Hartman was too good for this film. She towered above the other actors in her talent and brilliance.
A little woman acting her big heart out. Love and peace to Elizabeth. You are missed more than you may ever know.
What a beautiful woman and incredible actress she was!
I agree. What made her attractive was how plain and normal she was, like the girl next door. Plus, she's a red head.
Elizabeth was so charming. Looking younger than her actual age. Sad that she died tragically :(
It saddens me so much that Hartman killed herself. Even though she wasn't the most well known actress ever, she was a legend in A Patch Of Blue and Secret Of Nimh. She really knew how to act.
Or was she for real?💜💔
Elizabeth had a lot of great performances ahead of her. Very sad indeed.
I finally get to see the face behind Mrs. Brisby (The character's first name was never revealed in both the book and film, but there are those that claim Mrs. Brisby's first name is Elizabeth). She loved her character and in her final interview she described how she has identical traits like the field mouse.
Thanks to Don Bluth, even at 1:08 and every time I look at her I can't help but see mouse ears on her head with a mouse tail trailing behind her.
Why didn’t he want to make walking tall 2 ??
He put a lot of passion in this movie
Elizabeth Hartman was great. Have you ever seen "A Cinderella Named Elizabeth"?
Loved her in A Patch of Blue. Likely her definitive film.
You’re a good girl Elizabeth; we unfold our love for you💖✝️
Never thought I'd see Mitchell and Mrs. Brisby get into an argument.
Awesome performance 😍
I heard Mrs Brisby's voice
Tom Armstrong because she's is her voice actress
She was great in the movie A Patch of Blue with Sidney Poitier
I'm watching that right now!!!
I haven't seen all of it, but yes, she perfect.
Great actress. I live right near the apartment building she committed suicide from, always think of her when I walk by.
I love those movies
R.I.P
Damn good movie.
Yes sir love you sir
Mitchell Vs. Mrs. Brisby
Now there's a fine example of a mouse that roared.
I think that it is Avery good movie too from Cassandra lavern williams
So Mitchell was married to Mrs. Brisby?
Sadly, this is a true story. Wife dies in a car accident and Buford dies a separate one, age 36. Foul play was suspected. I hate their children lost them so early.
A room full of people getting an acting lesson from Elizabeth Hartman.
I'm in love. (Faints down)
Mrs. Brisby.
