UPDATE: Another update that seemed to fix the frequent game crashes in previous update has just been released (17th of November). But after this update, some players have reported that their game is stuck on the loading screen so be aware! If that's the case, try using the "repair game" option on Origin to see if it's working again.
For those who can't see the difference of the skin tones that much, try increasing the video resolution. CZcams's video compression kinda makes it even harder to see. Sentiments are AMAZING! Finally more than a happy emote after finding out your partner is pregnant. Sentiments have improved my game so much more & if we get memories next, this game will be so much better. Right now I'm happy just to have sentiments!! They made everything better.
Yea, I'm glad my sims don't randomly befriend each other five seconds after I make them have a fight 💀
Dont. The new patch has made everyone game crash over and over and over again. Its heartbreaking, so heartbreaking.
@@Gamer_Mama_0611 They're planing on releasing a another patch soon to fix it though. So it won't be a problem anymore hopefully. I didn't have to save my game so much until now.😓
Ok. Wouldn't it be easy to be just able to click on sink an select : No washing here and sims would not use that sink for cleaning the dishes or smth like that? It seems like a minor change that would fix a lot of simmers' complaints...
That sounds simple enough, but you'd have to go through and change the setting in every single sink in the house. Might be easier to have a Designate Dish Sink option similar to Set as Front Door.

@@BonaparteBardithion it could be done where Dishwashing allowed only in the sink that way you don’t have to click on like a couple things if you have more than one sink in a certain room or multiple kitchens in the house instead of having to cancel out every other thing from bathrooms and stuff

Right! When I play I set a timer that goes off every 10 minutes as a reminder to save and I save whenever I remember too, so many things have been ruined 😭😭

Omg same- it's so annoying I just keep saving after I did something that would be way too tedious to do again, but I didn't know my game crashed and I went on my old world and fixed up stuff and it crashed right as I got done 😭

Use Mccc and make it auto save every sim hour and it's not a problem
Yeah, I can't really get more than fifteen minutes without a crash, Saving isn't the issue, but the fact that game play is horrible when you have to wait on the game crashing and booting which takes about ten minutes for me anyway
@@matthewloughran73 Can you tell me your specs or platform if you're not on pc? I've played so far without crashes. Also, it'd be nice to know if you have cc installed or If you have an SSD because 10 minutes is outrageous if you're not exaggerating lol.
@@cooldude896095 I not much of a gamer or anything so I am using an old laptop. it would normally take about 2-3 minutes to boot up the game, but when the game crashes, My laptop just freezes and even if I hit "ctrl + alt + del" it doesn't respond it takes about 5-7 minutes to come out of this phase, you get me.
My laptop isn't all that slow because I keep it clean, defragment it at least once a year and don't realy hord that many files

fr yesterday i played for around two hours, i aged up sims, i moved sims in, i didn't save bc i'm an idiot and boom T_T
20 minutes or less for some 😭😭😭😭 all my hard work. I took weeks building 3 different houses just to have my game crash every 5 minutes. My heart is broken and before Sims was the only thing keeping my covid depression at bay...now I have nothing once again.

The sink issue with most people's games is due to a priority setting, if the sink in the bathroom has a higher performance than the one you used in the kitchen your Sim with prioritize the higher performance sink, this also happens with ovens fridges and back garden BBQ's. Many times my sim has decided to cook using the BBQ just because it has a higher performance.
I always upgrade my kitchen sink first, my Sims must really love the bathroom's.
@@steinaf naaa I ment the base stats in the build mode when you're hovering over a sink to select it tells you it's stats in small font below it's description, for fridges or ovens it'll say food quality: 1-9 for sinks it's the same but with efficiency: 1-9

@@Gaxriel I usually use the same style of sink in all rooms. Mostly using the counter top and a sink cause the full sink style usually has higher stats for some reason, EA might need to fix it in some updates, it the same reason I keep selling the BBQ. It's stats are just to high and my Sims be using the thing for breakfast and lunch and tea it's really bazaar. I also hate the issue with the coffee machines oh im a tired sim better just make coffee all night rather than go to sleep on the luxury bed that my overlord went out of his way to buy.

Is anyone else's sims taking excessive naps versus sleeping and absolutely refuse to sit at the damn table at the same time? AND WALKING THROUGH WALLS???
Them walking through walls is really confusing sometimes 🤨 like yeah I made you go watch TV didn't mean you have to go through five walls I put down and the couch to get there 🙄
Definitely. They choose to nap on the cheap couch in the living room instead of the 10 points comfortable bed in the next room. Period. Also, there're left over gourmet foods in the fridge but they go and grab yogurt instead. I can't even.
@@4eee Yeah! Mine keep trying to excessively use the grill despite having a whole gorgeous kitchen even after cooking! Why is this game so broken after what...7 years?
A good way to make them eat at a table (not dine out related, I don't have that pack) is to have a large serving of food at the middle, make every sim sit in a chair at the table, and THEN click "take a serving" if other sims are sitting in diff places like a couch watching tv l, this might not work cause sims want to sit by each other and talk. But if they're already sitting, they'll stay with each other!
i wish they brought back the “accuse of cheating” interaction. it brought some spice to the table

Honestly, I'm just very happy it's breaking the monopoly and giving some good competition.
It’s good for the sims 4 to have competition. I bet we would have never gotten platforms if it wasn’t for Paralives

Wait there is no english word for Schadenfreude? Really? Well as a german I will explain the word:
Schadenfreude means damage-joy if you translate it word by word. I think that explains it very well. For everyone who doesn't really understand, you feel Schadenfreude when someone has a bad time or something bad happens and you are happy about it. Like a person you dislike falls down stairs or something

The only time my Sims use the bathroom sink vs kitchen sink is when the bathroom is too close to the kitchen. Experienced this most of the time in apartment buildings.

Honestly, I really don't see any difference on the skin tones, you have to be zooming in pretty far to actually see the anything wrong in it

Yeah watch the closer paralives gets to release, EA will start releasing fixes and new content for free and announce sims 5. I am sure what ever paralives does EA will do it slightly better and of course have you sell your blood and soul for the content.

Thanks for letting us know in details about the update! I wouldn't have noticed half of them if you hadn't shown them! Now I just need my sims to stop ignoring the kitchen counters to use the ones in the bathroom or the ones on the patio to cook.

It's funny to see how they are veeeerry sloooooowly fixing the problems this 6 year old game had ever since it's rather rough start. It's like Minecraft.
I don't think it's like Minecraft. Minecraft didn't fix their issues before because they had less funding, whereas EA never bothered to make a nice game or listen to the community because it never had any competition. You can see they've heard about Paralives because they downright copied the "remove shoes at home" feature, along with the rounded walls
Sure, you can say it's a pretty common thing and maybe they "came up with it on their own" but... Why now?? If it's so simple, why did they only implement these things RIGHT after Paralives did it?
@@babi6644 Absolutely, its all organized and thought out with money in mind. Paralives is forcing EA to compete where before we had no expectations only wishes. Unfourtantly i do not think paralives will be able to compete atleast not at first, but this is the best thing that could happen for the simulation fans. EA just might be forced into creating new and innovative things again
Sentiments and rental lots actually make me want to start playing the sims 4. I hope we get more family or gameplay related updates with the update in december!
I kinda wished the sims added vitiligo, it would make sims look more realistic/ more fun. You could pick out your own colors instead of selected swatches for you! And it would be cool if they added disabilities, like having an amputated leg or arm, having asthma, being blind, deaf or mute, etc. it would make gameplay more interesting. + It would be cool to also have blind or deaf pets, either they can get it from a attack or from birth, that would also be more realistic and interesting.
Knowing EA, it will just be another expansion pack
The crashes are related to sound. Apparently you have to tell the game to not play sounds. On Windows you can do this by going into Origin, click on settings, select Game Properties, and in the text box type
-nosound ( - is included)
This has stopped my game from crashing so far.
but who wants to play a game without sound.

Would disabling sound effects in-game also achieve the same result?

I really like the addition of sentiments! I like that we can see what the other sim is feeling, even if they aren't in our household. I'm not a builder at all, but after watching this video on platforms, I have tons of new ideas!

My thought of Sims adding platforms.. Paralives had it Sims felt the need to do the same because they realise they'll have major competition when Paralives comes out.
No one have a perfect skin completion... I like that the Sims doesn't have it too

People were complaining about the skin tones because the blotchiness didn't appear in lighter ones but it was present in darker ones.

This update's actually amazing! Platforms work so much better than I thought they would, beats TS2's by a mile. The Sentiments look like they'll help relationships a ton; now a Moodlet Solver won't be enough to make a Sim instantly forget that they're angry at another. I can't believe they're fixing townie weather fashion, too--that's been a source of annoyance (and amusement) for so long I thought it'd simply never change.
Shame that it came with crashes, though. I haven't played much recently so I might as well wait for the hotfix to come in before I update.

Thank you so much for this, the only thing I heard about the new update was the game crashes, so I was really conflicted on playing but all these new features are super interesting and finally gave me the motivation to open the game again
As said in my pinned comment, the crashed should already be fixed in another new update that came out a few days ago.

now i wish they update the base game careers and make all of them available for work from home like any other new careers.. I find it baffling that a careers like writer and tech guru cannot work from home but a military personnel can work from home 💀

im really happy the sentiments are a free update. I think that kind of thing is a good step in the right direction with the gameplay and making the sims feel more unique. I still wish they would overhaul traits and make them impact the way the sims reacted to things around them more instead of just giving them certain emotional buffs.
