Yes! It sounds bad but I wish there was more negativity and toxic lifestyles my mean sims aren’t even mean and when they are they get upset.
Sims 4 is too friendly and too easy. It doesn't feel like a life sim, it feels like a sandbox :(.

Okay, YES! This seems like it finally adds depth to the game and actually makes sims a little more unique. I really hope they do even more stuff like this to really build up gameplay and sims personalities. You did such a good job of breaking it down thoroughly but concisely!

Yessss!!! This is something that feels like a throwback to the sims 2. I have always felt that the relationships in sims 4 were so flat and you have to work so hard to make it seem like they have flavor

I felt like the lifestyles should’ve been a free update rather than part of the Snowy Escape pack. Since this type of game feature should be part of base game pack in the first place.

My toddler refuses to be around her mother because she has a hurt sentiment towards said mother all because she tried to comfort her during a storm.

Knowing Sims can now react to cheating spouses is perfect because one of my legacy Sims ended up a single dad after his girlfriend married someone else because of mcc
I just realize that fixing relationships with sentiments in my save files...is gonna be a lot.
The sentiments are created so when you start up those files, the sims won’t initially have any sentiments or lifestyles. They’ll build as you play.

this is such a good step and something that has been desperately needed for sims 4, hopefully they start adding whims or wants and fears like in sims 2 and 3!
Really wish they would’ve added more traits and the ability to have more traits. But this is better than nothing I guess 🙄
I’ll have to see for myself how upset a sim will get if there partner cheats on them with a friend, having to people you trust betray you at once, can destroy you, I wanna know if it can destroy a sim.
Loving this! 😃 I think it's great that Sentiments will come to the Base Game with extra Sentiments for those who also purchase Snowy Escape. I wish it would have been the same with Lifestyles though. Both look look very interesting to me. Really curious to find out all of the effects (benefits and downsides). Thanks for the overview. 👍
This is so exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially sentiments and the new profile view. LIfestyles has a good start too, but seems like there's potential to add more lifestyle types with future packs. I have such a good feeling about this! It's like not only have they given us a lot with this pack and update, but they've set themselves up for more good things to come. Like, platforms allows for creating stages in case they do a Showtime pack. The sentiments and school uniforms sets them up for a Generations pack or a pack about schools. The snowboarding sets them up for adding skateboarding if they want to add that.
Lifestyles are like memories and sentiments are just like the regular ones we already have. It adds nothing to the game play 😅😅
@@RoyalUK2023 Lifestyles are not memories. Lifestyles are built by the way your sim lives. For example, if your sim eats healthy over a period of time they may unlock the Health Food Nut lifestyle - therefore unlocking the ability to make healthier food option like “Whole wheat grilled cheese” vs regular grilled cheese. And they’ll have new interactions, benefits and incentives with that particular lifestyle. Sentiments are an expression of your sims feelings towards each other’s. They are more like memories, some last longer than others. Each sim will respond to an event the same or differently (depending on what they’re gaining the sentiment for). Sentiments between sims can make them feel happy, sad, etc around each other.
Yes! These two features work cohesively with the new pack and base game. I am looking forward to updated sentiments and lifestyles based on future packs and the ones we have already. I agree with you - I didn’t get to fully explore but I’m very hopeful with these two features ! It was fun seeing my sims feel something real for once haha

I guess it is nothing but marketing to make the new pack`s sales more profitable. I mean, all players urge the sentiments in the game, so instead of buying only the base one now for the deeper gameplay, you should buy the new pack too. Tricky, hah?

I really liked your review of sentiments and lifestyles felt more in-depth than the other videos I've watched. It was showcased really well, thank you. It will be interesting to see if they've made the premade sims have sentiments already to one another when starting a new game.

This is great progression and I’m so glad they’re adding sentiments to the base game, now we just need to modify Whims but in due time

I see a lot of people in sims FB groups claiming this is a lazy way to improve traits. I feel like this is different than traits. Even if we had traits like ts3.
It feels different to me, especially with the new interactions and gameplay each lifestyle unlocks - however I would LOVE more new traits.
Hmm, I think it is understandable that people are sceptical. For me, when I first saw it, I also thought about traits, but I must admit, that it actually looks good.
I use to find myself struggling to stay interested in the sims the past two years but now with sentiments I'm addicted once again. I'm glad EA is headed in the right direction so they can keep taking my money lol

Thank you! This was such a good walk through of these features - probably the things I am most excited for in this expansion. I feel so much better after hearing your explanation - I was concerned that the negative emotions still had such short cool down times (+1) but from what I saw they should keep increasing if they are exposed to the sim that angered/hurt them. I really hope that is how it works, I hate that positive emotion seem to wipe out negative ones no matter how bad the event that caused them was. This could be the best addition to the game in years! Thank you again ❤
These features seem really interesting. Sentiments, I feel will lead to more satisfying gameplay. I hope they expand lifestyles to base game as I don't know that I'll be getting the Snowy Expansion pack.

The update is most likely the same week of the release of Snowy Escape. We normally get a patch update before new pack releases :)

I’ve been slacking on videos lately meawhile Oshin has beeb spoiling us 😭 time to binge ✨ Anyways- I immediately bought the pack when it came out which is so rare for me and I took my own eco family to the new world and they got a sentiment cause I had them play in the snow and it was the cutest thing. It honestly makes the sims so much more real. Also this video was super informational thank you wavy mama 🌊 also like I had my sim sit down and read and she got a mindful moodlet. Plus whenever my sim is around her son she gets a moodlet saying she’s happy to be around him. It’s great.
I was already excited seeing this on the livestream, but watching you go more into it makes me now even more excited for this. Makes our sims lives more meaningful😊

this is such a good review! Thank you for talking in depth about the Sentiments! I agree that cheating on a spouse was brushed off badly in this game. The depth and the very real lasting consequences sentiments add to the game will make going back through and replaying existing sim relationships a lot of fun. Also, you have an awesome voice!

One thing I think could be even better is that your sim's reactions to certain events change depending on their traits. A sim with the hotheaded trait would react with anger to cheating, for example.
