Relief* I've been playing with MCCC since 2020. This update still doesn't measure up. I got the base game as a gift back in 2014 but thought it was too boring. Started playing again during lockdown; still thought it was too boring. Got 12GB of mods, okay.
This feature is pretty underbaked compared to TS3 Story Progression. There's no rhyme or reason for anything happening, whereas in TS3 it was decided using complex demographics and stats to determine what the town NEEDED in terms of population. There are also many actions missing, including the ability for Sims to get married on their own. It's sad this is the best they can do 8 years after the game came out.
its a feature that is going to be continously updated, so there will be more things to come. I hope we get atonomous relationships/marriages/divorces soon

I don't have the same problem. I turned off the moving out option and no one move out from their house. Actually my game working better after the patch update
Yeah, but the thing about sims calling you and asking for your opinion on eg making friends with someone doesn't really change anything since when you check it - they have no actual relationship with the sim they asked about
This has to be my favorite update in the whole game, but I've never seen so many babies and dogs in my families 😂 EDIT: Make that babies, dogs, AND cats 😅 Father Winter also moved to Mt. Komorebi
omg this was so helpfulllll i was rlly worried that my sim's boyfriend would die in an accident and i was almost moving him in with my sim, so glad i found out how to turn the story progression off for his household.
I loved the update I did. I loved the new scenarios I do. I loved that they fixed a lot of things I really do. But I find it a bit ironic that they added a new scenario that requires the rocket to be built and travled in yet didn't fix the bug that shows up where you can't build the rocket.......... Seams like a over sight to me.
The team love pretending that their game are working, while adding more broken features that only look good but don't add any gameplay values. All those bugs from years ago are piling up to the point that I doubt they'll ever get fixed. It's sad but I know a mod that fix the rocket building by simvasion.
I'm the type who prefer rotational playstyle in the Sims (like Sims 2). So, I'm quite happy they include option to turn it off for the households that I care enough to play them within rotation / not want them to change. Nonetheless, I'm happy for people who excitedly welcome this story progression update.

I agree lol, I never really enjoyed the TS4 because it just felt so bare. I remember being super pumped about the new sim game coming out when I was little and what we got was beyond disappointing. I had to make so many things happen in my TS4 gameplay just so I wouldn’t get bored of it. Everyone was cheating on everyone, I was trying to kill sims for no reasons, I made new sims and plopped them into the neighborhood just to try to give it some life. It was just sad, especially for my play style which is usually very wholesome and family orientated :c

I tried getting into it many times, but I came to the conclusion that I can't really play it the way I've played the other Sims games, which is similar to the way you said - family oriented, or at the very least, more realistic. I find it to be an "okay" game, but to me, it's more like playing an interactive cartoon. I just can never seem to get attached to any of the Sims I've made like I was able to the past games.

After playing my current saved game for 6 months, I began to notice how messy the entire world has become as if everything is randomly generated. The Langraab family now have 5 to 6 children and somehow manage to live in a tiny lodge in the werewolf valley, and the original werewolf couple, now living in Evergreen Harbour, are somehow occupying two different houses at the same time. Basically 1/3 households are now having SO many children and pets, I dare not play those families fearing social workers are going to take them away in 1 hour.
My Goth family had 8 children and Bella was pregnant again. And another family had 4 babies and they did not have any beds, chairs or anything thats suited for babies. They were basically dying. It's too crazy
It all just feels too random. For example: I had sims having 3 kids at the same time. The Goths decided to move into a one bedroom home. People were dying left and right. It didn't take into account if it would be a logical change for the families. I turned it completely off.
Reminds me, When I played the Sims 3, I played it only in one sav(I played it so long) Untill my neighborhood all become old Sorry for bad English I'm a fellow indonesian

Unfortunately- I already uninstalled the game and don't plan on re-installing. I did save my saves and custom music, etc- if I ever go back. I was pretty much building in the game alot more than playing in live mode. I'm commenting for the algorithm because i love your channel. Wish this was in the game early on.

With My Wedding Stories Game Pack, Sims can marry to more than 1 person. I have sims marry to 2 women, and the husband moved into his new wife. Then several days later I check the stories progression and I got shocked because his first wife which is live in separate house can still pregnant by him! You must try some experiment too. Edit : It's not from call like asking for new baby or something. It's literally from checking neighborhood stories at mailbox. Even my sims didn't know them either
They don't QA anything. Dads will call their adult kids to ask if they should ask out someone, while still being married to the children's mother. "No, Dad, don't cheat on Mom."
@@sobruhkey No, it's not form call. So I play my legacy family in Willow Creek while the family that I told is Bailey-Moon and Ward Family in Del Sol Valey. My Sims didn't know them even as an acquintance. I move Thorne Bailey from his house to be Judith Ward's Fiance (you can edit in CAS, don't forget to type cas.fulleditmode). So I play Ward household just only for marry them immedeatly. After a while Judith being pregnant, and the next day Thorne Bailey's first wife also have the same notification like "Bailey-Moon household is preparing baby to be born" So that's not from call nor my choice

Some problems I been noticing is vampires can die from other stuff other than sun. I had Lilith Vatore die from fire even know she can only die from the sun!
There was a (presumably) townie that appeared as the maid in dormitories and maybe in another venue around town. I didn't expect her to die from embarrassment through this system so soon, and now wish I could have saved a copy of her to my library. Is it possible to bring her back to life, or find her ghost just for the sake of preservation, or has she been culled since I can't find her in the other households tab, or any of the relationships of even student townies? Update: Apparently, she wasn't culled. I actually managed to find her ghost during ghost night that happens at bars on Wednesday nights. So, if a sim you weren't ready to lose dies through neighborhood stories, go to a bar on a Wednesday night and there's a chance that sim's ghost may show up. I couldn't get the summon_sim_to_zone cheat to work with her, though, so I'm guessing it won't work with ghosts killed through neighborhood stories (at least, not on the PS4). Another update: I finally uploaded a resurrected version of her to the gallery (I tried making the ambrosia, but lost patience after the pomegranate sprout disappeared, leaving a brown mound with nothing coming out that I noticed -- not sure if that's supposed to happen, so I used ambrosia from the gallery). If anyone's interested, her name is Mariam Whitten.

I have this feature switched off completely for my sims but have created supporting cast NPCs who will breed and repopulate my empty worlds. Then there's the NPCs I don't care about. Death is enabled for them!

"Have child" and "Adopt child" should have been a single option that simply randomizes between biological or adopted child, othewise what happened with your Bheeda family will be recurring. Both options mean adding a child to the family, and they should be treated accordingly. That's how MCCC does it, it rolls a chance for a family to have a child and if it's positive it decides whether that child should be biological or adopted. Running adoption and birth separately will mean double the children, but disabling adoption will mean lesbian or gay families, or single Sims, won't have the option to have children. They didn't think about this for more that 10 seconds, if they though about it for 30 seconds they'd have thought about this problem.
I think is good to have it as separated options, cause those problems can be solve by configuring that on individual households, because what if you have a story or a character already set up for certain sims that you want to have kids only in the diy form (lmao :v) or just adopting. Maybe they could add a third option that randomize between those 2? That could be the default option, unless you want to customize it… yeah that sounds better
As far as I know they did not update the rocketship yet and this scenario unfortunately cannot be completed as you cant built a rocketship. How were you able? mod?
It would be nice if neighbors could autonomously throw parties and invite you over

In my mum's world, Bella Goth had over 10 children (my mum kept moving them out and aging them up, etc.) but she kept having kids.

I've really enjoyed the neighborhood stories so far :) but I still use the MC command center mod.
This makes the game feel more lively (despite being bareboned most of time), and it kinda reminds me of a visual novel
Also sims get engaged by themselves which is amazing.

"Have child" and "Adopt child" should have been a single option that simply randomizes between biological or adopted child, othewise what happened with your Bheeda family will be recurring. Both options mean adding a child to the family, and they should be treated accordingly. That's how MCCC does it, it rolls a chance for a family to have a child and if it's positive it decides whether that child should be biological or adopted. Running adoption and birth separately will mean double the children, but disabling adoption will mean lesbian or gay families, or single Sims, won't have the option to have children. They didn't think about this for more that 10 seconds, if they though about it for 30 seconds they'd have thought about this problem.
I think is good to have it as separated options, cause those problems can be solve by configuring that on individual households, because what if you have a story or a character already set up for certain sims that you want to have kids only in the diy form (lmao :v) or just adopting. Maybe they could add a third option that randomize between those 2? That could be the default option, unless you want to customize it… yeah that sounds better
