Octopath Traveler 2: Galdera (No Damage/Nuts) [Fast Kill]

- Below is a quick strategy for Galdera in Octopath Traveler 2. No damage is taken from the boss and no nuts have been used.
Team Setup: i.imgur.com/x6qclVI.jpg
Party 1:
- Castti (Cleric) - BP battery + Aelfric as needed
- Osvald (Cleric) - Aelfric bot
- Ochette (Warrior) - Kill adds / buff / debuff / damage
- Hikari (Armsmaster) - Targeted Strike (Crit) + Damage via Lionheart's Axe
Party 2:
- Throne (Cleric) - Aelfric bot + Aeber damage
- Partitio (Scholar) - Alephan first turn on Temenos (then support)
- Agnea (Inventor) - Crit Scope on all enemies + Windy Refrain for turn manipulation
- Temenos (Scholar) - 1 HP Alpione damage build
Strategy:
- In Phase 1, with Ochette use Dreadwing monster to kill the minions. Each hit of monster has a 20% chance to kill the minions. If it doesn't kill all souls, use Hikari to clean up any remaining souls.
- Even if you can't kill the Eye in its break period, the first turn the Eye wakes up just revives and eats the Souls, so you will have a full additional turn to kill the Eye.- After Souls are dead, break the Eye with Ochette and debuff/buff team as well.
- Then just Aelfric and deal damage with Hikari and Ochette to complete Phase 1.
- Phase 2 is pretty straight forward. Buff Temenos with other characters and then use Temenos' Sacred Effulgence skill to kill everything.
- Note that I used Windy Refrain with Agnea even though the turn order in video didn't require it, but it was just to show how the strategy will flow even if the turn order was different.
Pretty fun boss and I really enjoyed coming up with these strategies. Hope this helps kill the boss for you even at low levels.

are there any clues for what everyone's support skills should be?
@@chriskoloski32Everyone’s skills are at the end of the video
Dammit I was down to the body, had everything equipped, and was fighting it at night and still didn't do enough damage with the last temenos nuke :(
thank you. THIS helps for sure. I took 4 total attempts, 3 of which I didn't realize the last team needed to have latent gauges full. That full round of first turns definitely sets the tone. Had my @$$ handed to me for not being fully charged and watching this video over and over wondering where I was messing up.
What are you doing for the second phase that gives Partitio a full charge at the beginning of battle? I feel like some details are missing
Thank you! Followed the strat and it worked like a charm. Few notes for peeps attempting this in the future:
* Farmed Forbidden Elixirs in Conning Creek: Guard Outpost (steal from thieves)
* Got Targeted Strike from Veronica in New Delstra Theatre. I did her sidequest so that's where she moves to afterwards.
* Captured Ochette's monsters (Dreadwing in Western Gravell Trail, Vagrant Frogking III in Curious Nest)
* Didn't get multiple copies of Battle-tested weapons and it still worked. Did bump up Temenos' E.Atk stat up as much as I could with equips.
So i can do this even with Just 1 of each Battle tested stuff? And where can i find the elixirs that recover BP and latente Power gauge?
no idea how you are getting those damage numbers with Hikari at lvl 67 still only getting 40k max
@@michael4978 Giant's Club and Battle-tested blade make it very easy to damage cap Hikari on Armsmaster and is pretty common. Otherwise the difference might be you missing the Physical dmg buff. It makes a pretty significant difference.
Cheers for this pal. Gonna start farming those items and do some prep. Wish me luck 😅
Where do you get art of disguise?
Something I want to add so people don’t make the same mistake as me and go through several attempts: MAKE SURE IT’S NIGHT OTHERWISE THIS STRATEGY WON’T WORK!
Why does night matter?
@@Growfingernailsgrow Because Temenos and Throné are in the second party. And Temenos’ passive ability will lower a foe’s defenses for a couple of turns while Throné’s boosts the party’s offensives and speed for some turns. Said passive abilities will only work at night.
@@MrTherandomguy42does this still work? I've been trying this strategy and Temenos' and Throne's passives aren't activating.
@@caelestis6439 Not sure. I have been playing it modded lately. Did you make 100% sure it’s night before the fight starts?
Man... 🤯 That's amazing !!! So perfectly scheduled and organized, great job 👏 I did all the rest of the game by myself but that was too tricky for me and I lack patience for this kind of finish (I didn't make it on the first one). Thank you then! I could finish it doing the same (and I understood all the strategy while setting it up) without glory but less frustration 😅
I never beat Galdera in the first game, and never felt like farming for a setup, however, after watching this video and following the strategy I was able to beat it. Also the first phase was way harder for me. Partially cause I made one mistake and secondly, it felt way more turn order dependent compared to the second phase. Great video, thanks for the help :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I WAS STUCK ON THIS BOSS FOR SO LONG BUT YOU HELPED ME BEAT HIM. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
After two days of struggling, this is the strat that got me through this boss. Thanks.
Thank you! You helped me defeat this monstrosity with these builds. 💯✨
Thank you for the strat!! Took me forever but I managed to get it done!
Thanks for this! Incredible strategy. Took some tries and getting lucky on RNG order but it got the job done!
The number of times I had to realize "oh, I need this one more thing" for this to work was insane. I got very tired of the boat ride back.
Anyway, here's a list!
MUST BE NIGHT AT START OF FIGHT
All characters should be at full HP, SP and LATENT POWER...
...EXCEPT Temenos who should be at or close to 1 HP, but still with full SP and latent power.
Monster Roster: Dreadwing, Woodland Birdking III, Vagrant Frogking III (I also like Ettin Ophidian for targeting weak points)
Learned Skills: Targeted Strike (I also like Thousand Blades for targeting weak points)
General Stats: As close to 999 Physical Attack as you can get for Ochette, Hikari and optionally Agnea. As close to 999 Elemental Attack as you can get for Temenos and optionally Osvald.
Equipment to reach those stats: Champion's Belts (farm repeatedly at Montwise arena until you have enough), Elemental Augmentor (or check end of video for what Spellborne used)
Equipment: Alpione's Amulet for Temenos
Optional Equipment: Fang of Ferocity and Finisher's Claws, wherever it can fit alongside 999 Physical Attack (in my case Ochette had the claws and Throne had the fang)
Skill: Deal More Damage for Hikari, Ochette, Temenos (any maybe Agnea and Osvald)
Skill: A Step Ahead for the whole party
Skill: Boost Start for Castti
Skill: BP Regeneration for Castti (optional, but it procs first round in the video)
Items: At least 2 Forbidden Elixirs, lots of Pomegranate Leaf, Strengthening Serum and Diffusing Serum, 2+ Reinforcing Jam
Items than cannot be farmed: Ancient Cursed Talisman, Rejuvenating Jam (if you don't have one, give Throne a Reinforcing Jam instead of using Partitio's Hired Help)
Knowing how to play: You're going to have to improvise in Phase 1 and actually learn the fight.
Attention to detail: You're going to have to follow the fight almost move for move in Phase 2. If the boss gets a turn, you lose.
Luck: If the Dreadwings don't wipe the souls all at once, you might just want to restart. If Castti doesn't go first, you might just want to restart. And good luck getting these to both line up in the same attempt. I don't know how some people got this first try... between setting everything up and multiple attempts, it took me a good 5 hours. My party was mostly low 60s, expect for my main, which was low 70s. Good luck everyone! And thanks for the guide, Spellborne!
Woo-ee! Took me quite a few tries with this strategy, but I eventually got there! I had to improvise a little since I couldn't quite finish off the eye before its shield came back, and I didn't have enough JP to teach Alephan to Partitio (had to switch jobs with Agnea), but I still pulled through. Thanks so much for sharing this strategy!
This strategy is AMAZING dude, thanks so much 😁
I needed some retries but it worked for me, thanks for your strategy!
Amazing job, thank you for all the details. I did my setup to match yours and kept failing at phase 2, only to realize I forgot to switch to night before the fight. After switching to night, it was clockwork even if the turn order didn’t match exactly.
Thanks for the tips, I finally got it after many many tries, this set up relies on a lot of RNG, but once it clicks it's straightforward
thanks a lot, couldnt beat Galdera without this guide
Thank you!!!! Finally got my platinum at 80 hrs, that another cursed talisman was sooo needed
I'm so impressed, this was so fast!
You are the goat 👏🏼
The first phase is insane, I tried a lot of stuff and I couldn't beat it. Ochette has some cheese beasts at her disposal.
Followed your guide to a TEE (minus a few Battle-Tested weapons in the 2nd party) and ANNIHILATED Galdera on my 2nd try (on my first attempt I forgot to switch to nighttime lol).
Thanks to you, I can finally finish up the remainder of the trophies for this magnificent game 🙌 Cheers!
Which battle tested weapons did you have to farm for? His setup shows 4 battle tested blades. That seems like it'd take forever to farm up.
@@damcrac It was so long ago, I don't quite remember, but I believe I only had two battle-tested blades.
@JesusLives22 appreciate it. 1 wouldn't be to bad to farm.
@@damcracI only had one of each battle tested item, didn’t hurt my damage output at all. Granted my levels are higher than this video but I imagine most people’s will be
@FirionFF2 appreciate the response, but I was able to get it done following a speedrunner's setup. Figured it would have the lowest requirements, lol
It’s done…I finally killed it. Thank you so much.
I beat the boss following your strategy. Thank you very much for posting all the detail information❤.
This works like a charm, I finally was able to defeated it, the first part is the most RNG of the fight, if you don’t have the turns like the video you will need to adapt a lot, I could say it is the most complicated part, the second phase is more consistent even if you are in different order. 10000/10 this guide thanks a lot for the build
You can use the skill the second team uses on your first team as well (the one which allows you to get a "free turn") if you're struggling with turn order. That's what I did and it worked perfectly.
You can avoid almost all bad P1 rng with good abuse of alfreac's blessing and leghold trap. The only move the boss can sometimes get off with bad luck is a turn 2 elemental veil.
Damn, that's genious. Thank you very much for the guide
Damn, this strategy is really good! I didn’t manage to defeat the eye during the first break, but I got lucky and killed all the souls in Ochette’s next turn with the Dreadwing. From there, it was all a matter of hitting as much as I could with her and Hikari. Since my characters are above level 80, and Temenos above 90, the second phase was laughably short, as the first Sacred Effulgence killed all of Galdera’s extremities and the second one completely obliterated him. I couldn’t have done it without you, mate, so thanks!
Thanks, I was able to use this (with a couple modification, due to not having the axe that goes with the Armsmaster) to beat Galdara.
wow, you are a genius!!! thanks for helping me! I was able to easily defeat the first part with Ochette’s glitch, but I got kicked out bye the second part. But with your strat (considering i grinded to level 99), it was a joke!!!
Amazing guide thanks!
thanks a lot pal, just got it with only very minor changes. been trying to get the plat in this great game for over a year, but i was too noob for this fight. respect
Thx for this team organization.
Thanks. I managed to beat it with this strategy. Temenos OP 😘
Thanks for this guide. Got it first try despite Osvald going first and the missing step to use Partitio's latent ability to use Alephan's. I got my turns all messed up but it was still plenty of damage since Temenos is insanely OP. kythlyn's post in the comments is helpful too if you don't feel like farming all the exact gear. It's about the stats in the end anyway.
THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS WORKED FOR ME AND I FINALLY BEAT GALDERA 😭😭😭
I finally beat this boss! Thank you so much!
This video is BEYOND INCREDIBLE .. The guy that uploaded this basically GAME the entire game. SOLID.
Thanks so so much i originally backed out from beating galdera on OT1 but then i thought this is a chance on redemption on OT2 and after 65 hours of gameplay. I finally rid this evil from solistia and osterra
Thank you for this video!
Gonna attempt and set this up tonight, last thing on the list to beat this game for me :D
Thanks for the guide! My levels were much higher than yours, but nuking that thing for max daamge was satisfying!
I finally beat this thanks to this video. It was driving me crazy. I'm still not sure why my Hikari was doing nowhere near the dmg you were with the axe, but I finally got it.
Wow, that was awesome
Thank you, happy to have finally beaten this bastard in at least one of the Octopath series.
Took me a few tries to get the timing right on the turn order, but the strat works!
Thank you so much for this strategy! I tried to come up with mine, but it always failed. Maybe because I used mostly the same party for the whole game, so I had no idea how to arrange stuff with Cassti, Paritito and Agnea.
Btw, I went against him with Temenos being lvl 90. I made him cast Sacred Effulgence only TWICE (2 turns) before Galdera RIP. I am not even joking!
thank you i was finally able to beat it
HFS!!!! Thank you!!! Got my Platinum Trophy at last!!!! Triple pop to complete a 110 hour journey!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for doing these things at such low levels, it means I don’t have to farm every battle tested weapon a quadrillion times
I tried this strategy out because my main profile did not use nuts to max stuff out correctly (mostly given to Throne just because she’s my favorite) and all my levels are in the 80’s-90’s…. Yeah. Absolutely destroyed. Thank you so much!!
Good to know it can be done wjtg such low levels. Really havent felt good with partitio and castti in the group. I have them at or above your level already. Ill start leaving them out unless it is their chapter.
Vlad - Took 8 gods to Seal him
(Laughs in Galdera took his 12 Siblings/Gods to Seal him after killing their mother)
Isn't galdera is daughter of dark god so it's her 💀
I captured that sea gull and man it did not disappoint.. Still can't get past phase 1 with my team though haha
Temenos during battle: *nukes Galdera, a literal god*
Temenos after battle: goodness, what a tantrum that was
To the player who made this, thanks so much. I beat OT1 Galdera in 1 try, just had the info on which part was physical attackers, and which for magic users. For OT2 Galdera, this one hits really hard. I did a couple of attempts because of the turn order mixup, and some mistakes for choosing ochette's beasts. That first phase was really tricky as my team was able to kill the eye but 2 souls were still left, and I had to pump more BP to Hikari and Ochette to finish them off. Second phase went really smooth with Temenos maxing out the damage cap for all 6 hits of his EX Skill. Got lucky on the 2nd phase. Again, thanks for the guide. Great game, really enjoyed it, even if the battle tested axe wasn't coming up from the NPC even after 100+ times I beat him with Hikari.
Runelord tressa using sidestep on the whole party was missed in this fight.. until this Strat haha
„Alright, i may have failed last time, but today I shall get my revenge- wait, a latent what now?“
Perfect strategy
Thank you for this. Got it 6th attempt
Arigatou Gozaimasu
Wow, I never even thought about using temenos like that. Im max level, so that was a big damage one shot, lol.
I've beaten this guy recently after an ENTIRE NIGHT trying it.
But now I see this and other videos as well, on second phase all have the common strat of leaving to 1 hp on someone (normally it's Hikari or Temenos), equipping them Alpione's amulet and casting his correctly buffs and order the same passive skills.
Where do you get the royal guards hatchet? i cant find it in timberain which is the only place i'm seeing when i look up where to get it :(
edit: nvm! you have to bribe the guard in the same room as the shopkeep
In my case it takes a lot of tries to get the right order of the members to follow the guide. Is there an opportunity to get the right order more often? It seems that the speed doesnt effect the order that much.
Best strat, did it first try
Just wanted to comment and say your strategy worked like a charm on a second attempt. First phase is more RNG based, so it requires some basic understanding and flexibility with turns.
Second phase however is the home run and was very doable.
Thanks to you, I finally got my platinum trophy. ❤👊🏼
You should probably specify that this setup REQUIRES Castti to go first on the first turn of phase 1. Despite having the highest speed, she still frequently doesn't go first and thus this strategy is highly RNG dependent.
Yeah it requires multiple restarts if the order isn't right-on
Super late, but I am pretty sure the entire first party has A Step Ahead on since I saw the ability trigger.
@@The_B_Button Yes but that doesn't guarantee that Castti will go first, it just means the party will act before the boss. The strat works quite well, you might need to restart if Castti isn't your first or second go.
@@pasqualebambino1508 not just that, the order is the real bad too, because they act out of turn, there is no way to legit mimic this because of RNG, and there is no quick restart that I am aware of, i dont have the patience to just let it kill me and reload, or close the game out and load it all back in. Its stupid, and pissing me off, and this shit is likely going to sit 1 enemy away from platinum
Been trying more than 10 times for now and on the 2nd phase, I've got the exact same stuff and lvl 85+ on all my team, but everytime I kill the parts and the 99 shield becomes 20, when the boss has next turn, sometimes he just gets 2 more turns out of nowhere.. I don't know what's happening.. -_-
“Oh yeah, but their party is probably level 99”
Then I saw the results
Where you get all thoses reinforcing jam ?
Ohh goodness. What a tantrum that was. 😟 😂
how do you have same secondary jobs? casti and osvald both had cleric
If you go to the places where you got the job licences (guilds), you can get more licences after meeting some requirements.
Anyone know the Blessed Vestments drop rate from the judge, last thing i need
After watching this video, i realized that if i was transferred to a world with magic, i will just be a farmer or only manage to be a a F class adventurer.
I have two questions : How do you unlock sacred effulgence ? My temenos ex skill is called heavenly shine
And what is the equipment hat you should give to temenos, hikari, ochette and throne ? I have pretty good items but my damage is nowhere near in this video
You need to use Scholar's Divine skill on Temenos to get Sacred Effulgence.
The equipment is shown at the end of the video.
@@spellborne Thanks a lot ! Your guide was super helpful
Thought I had a chance to platinum this game made it to this guy an quit the game, shits absolutely ridiculous
This strategy worked on my first try! I was able to beat both Galdera and the final boss, with each fight only lasting 5 minutes.
Farming for extra battle-tested blades was worth it. I was able to get extra ones, for both Throne and Ochette.
In both Galdera's and the final boss's fight, neither even got a single turn to attack.
My only deviation was having Temenos as an Arcanist, as I didn't have the materials for the final Scholar license.
Having the dreadwing kill all of the adds is crucial to taking this boss out fast.
The Woodland Birdking 3 is amazing for manipulating turn order, similar to Agnea's Windy Refrain, allowing you to use her on the second phase.
While this version of Galdera should technically be harder, not having a boss rush before the fight makes it way easier, in my opinion.
Thanks, for the great guide!!!!
You’re not a human 😅 congrats
Where did you learn Targeted Strike? Also, can you share your equipment used? :D
Targeted Strike is from Veronica in New Delsta (Post-Agnea Chapter 5). Equipment used can be seen at the end of the video.
@@spellborne Thank you! :) And sorry, didn't want to spoil myself of what happens after defeating, so I paused the video there, my bad!
@@spellborne done veronica quest and she disappear from New Delsta. Where is she in New Delsta in post game?
@@vitanleearporn1827 She's in the theater during the day, in case you haven't found her yet!
I can’t seem to get moonlight judgement and blessing of darkness to trigger, even though I start the battle at night.
Switch the time to night just before you start the fight. Sometimes if you wait too long, it changes over.
Hi, thanks for posting the video. Where can I find the dreadwing monster?
West of Gravell.
What exactly is the 1 HP Alpione damage build for Temenos?
Nevermind. You showed your equipments in the end and I figured it out
Ok, so, in order, this is the list of things I realized way too late
1. During the first round, Castti needs to have her turn first
2. During the second round, Ochette needs to have her turn before Hikari
3. It needs to be nighttime for Temenos boost to activate
4. Energizing Pomegranate (L) is not a good replacement for the Forbidden Elixir (I found this out on my very last move)
- I used all my Ancient Cursed Talisman. I have none in my inventory and I opened all the chests on the Lost Isle.
-how do I change Heavenly Shine to Sacred Effulgence ?
Don’t know what can be done about the used Ancient Cursed Talisman, but Scholar’s Divine skill is what changes Heavenly Shine to Sacred Effulgence.
What is the support skills on everyone?
For some reason I can never get Castti to go first on the Step Ahead in phase 1. Half the time Osvald goes first and he has the lowest speed stat in the team.
Same, it makes nosense
I only used step ahead on casti, the rest of the team doesnt really need it. Just use osvald to cast alfreac's blessing on either hikari or ochette and you can get into the boss burn really smoothly. Worst comes to worst if you get bad ochette rng just reset.
a step ahead ignores speed, just places everyone in an equally random order
Took me a few tries to get turn orders to work out (not sure if there a fix there) and Ochette to kill all the souls easily... But I got it
I have no idea how you're getting such high numbers. Even when my turns go exactly like yours my Hikari (Lv 75) still only does 20-30k in damage.
Buffs and debuffs and gear are probably making a difference. Double check those.
Can you share your equipment on both parties and abilities?
It's shown at the end of the video.
40000 iq play 👍
I can smash out the first phase every time, but I just can’t get the second phase right. Temenos just doesn’t seem to be doing enough damage despite being levelled into the 80s.
I’ll need to study this video a bit closer.
EDIT: I missed a couple of steps. He’s all done now.
Thanks for the great guide Spellborne.
I’m assuming you have alpione amulet equipped? You might need to gear him for elemental attack more. If you have to choose between SP and elemental attack, do with the latter since it seems to impact the damage multiplier more.
@@harifederer
I missed a couple of buffs/debuffs for Temenos.
Just did multiple 99,999s to finish him off and now I have the Platinum trophy. 😎
Please help, I´m struggeling here :(
How do you get Temeos to do more than 9999 dmg without the "Deal more damage" support skill?
I do have deal more damage on Temenos.
@@spellborne Thank you. I just got confused because it said Themeos (Scholar) in the description :D
Followed this guide to the letter I cannot beat the final stage. RNG just never runs in my favour to be able to get a second Tememos attack so frustrating - and my whole party is level 85 lol
Part of the reason why i threw in the towel. I hate the way the boss is structured and the ridiculous damage turns it takes if you don't get the RNG.
tip: aelfric's blessing turn order is fixed, i believe it's always reverse of party arrangement. dont know if that helps
How did you manage to get this much character to have the Cleric subjob at the same time?
The guilds where you get the licence can provide more licences.
I can get to the second phase and get temenos to do one of those explosions, but after that the boss just kills me everytime. Ive followe this guide exactly and no dice for me. Such is my luck I guess.
How do you have so many champion’s belt? I thought the game only gives you one.
You can farm it by refighting that NPC after in the arena.
@@spellborne awesome! Thank you!! You’re the best!
How do you get so many attacks out of Ochette in one turn? I gotta be missing something.
This is because I'm using Ochette's 2nd Ex ability which lets you summon monsters up to 6 times.
I must be an imbecile, because I cannot get this strategy to work. In Phase 2, he casts a reflective barrier that I can't seem to get rid of, so I can't cast Sacred Effulgence again. I tried swapping the strategy to focus on Aebor's Reckoning for damage, but by then I lose my buffs and it hardly does any damage (~16k). This is with me keeping pretty close to all of the equipment, having all the exact same skills and jobs, and being at level 70-85 with my whole party. I am losing my mind. I've tried probably 20-30 times now. Anyone got a tip?
Well, not long after posting this, I figured it out by rewatching the full video and tinkering with my strategy a bit. Instead of deleting my comment, I'll just add here for anyone struggling. What I was missing was Aelfric's Blessing with Throne, which lets someone act again at the end of the turn for 3 turns. When you couple that with Agnea's Windy Refrain (forces your team to act first next turn) and Throne's ability to abuse her latent power, you can basically ensure the boss doesn't get a chance to cast his Reflect spell before you get another fully-powered Sacred Effulgence in. After the head died, I ended up having to use one Sacred Effulgence, a couple Windy Refrains, and two Aephor's Reckonings before he went down. Everyone was dead except Throne.
Where did Targeted Strike come from? Google brings no results about that skill.
Targeted Strike is from Veronica in New Delsta (Post-Agnea Chapter 5).
@@spellborne TY I ended up beating him without it using your guide. Temenos is a beast.
Sorry, new to the game, how do you make several clerics, the game does not allow me?
You can get more licences from the guilds.
@@spellborne Thankee kindly!
First few times trying and I finally had all my turns in the almost correct order...but the head died before it should have? then I ended up in a bad spot somehow. Dang. I guess I have to keep trying.
Edit: I did it. Thank you!
My lionheart axe is only doing like 18k DMG why is it so low
