Borla C6 Corvette Axle-Back Exhaust S-Type II part # 11815 No highway drone, gets a lot quieter with the roof up, gurgles constantly - Sounds Amazing! Borla's Sounds Amazing on LS motors!
This is probably the best video showcasing the Borla S-Type II exhaust! I've been on the fence meaning tone vrs drivability etc. and what Borla brings, you've helped me make my mind up. Great vid, keep up the good work.
Thanks Norman, I appreciate your complement. I've been very pleased with the S-Type II. It lets the Vette's inner muscle car out :) I think Borla has one of the deeper, smoother sounding exhausts for the C6. If you drive in lower gears it'll rumble and gurgle while engine braking, or it'll be very mild with no gurgling in higher gears.
When buying Borla’s cat back it uses an X pipe. The stock exhaust uses an H-pipe. H-pipes provide a more traditional muscle car sound, while an X-pipe is a lil different, sometimes described as more European sounding. X-pipes also add a couple of horsepower because they flow better. I prioritized sound quality over a dozen more HP which is why I got the axle back.
Yup, no issues at speed. You can carry on a convo without a problem. When at highway speeds the engine is basically just above idle so it’s not loud. Drop a few gears and it gets loud. No drone.
Yes, I kept the stock H-pipe. An X-pipe will always give you a bit more power than an H-pipe, but I was more concerned with the sound than a couple more horses. An X-pipe is a bit smoother, sometimes referred to as "European" sounding; where the H-pipe has a more distinctive pulsing sound, typical with older muscle cars.

This sounds awesome!! Just solidified my decision to get the Borla S-Type II . Thanks
I echo what Norman said. Thanks for making this comprehensive video!
Mine are in the mail and I cannot wait to get them on!
Excellent included down shifts and all!
I love my billy boat bullet exhaust on my Cammed C6
Fkng awesome 😎
I’m sure the close neighbors are happy!
Sounds good. Still need to hollow out that H-pipe.
Sold.
Why chosing axle vs cat back ? I want to buy it for my Z06 but dont know which one to choose ! Thx for the vid 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷

How is the sound in the convertible going down the highway? Can you still play the radio at a decent level without blowing out your eardrums?

Borla sent me two kits and neither one would fit together. I had to buy a pipe expander to open the pipes up. No more Borla crap no quality control.
Is a 100k mile c6 ‘05 worth buying? Might get it for 17k but I think it’s not worth it.
The C6 has proven to be a solid platform that ages well.
Best years for C6 are 2008-2013. Get LS3 engine only and the miles don't matter.
@@brucedelaney9606 ended up with a 2011 Gt mustang. It’s fully paid off now and looking either for a zl1 or gt350
What year is your Vette?
It's a 2007. Thanks for watching.
Is this axle back alone and what year C6
It's a 2007 with just a Borla axle back (part # 11815), stock H-pipe.
@@6gears2freedom sounds really good wanna get that same sound for my 2012 Vert
Did you keep stock H-Pipe? Thanks

Dave L you have cats on vehicle?
@@corvettelife2104 cats are in the headers. Hpipe has a pair of secondary cats
Stock sounds terrible
Attk is better
Who in the fuck does a comparison with the top off???
I have a convertible and need to know how loud it is.
Sounds like a truck nothing special
seriously?
I agree. Low compression motors with out extra cam duration have no special sound. Theyr either loud or not.
