      @6gears2freedom Před 2 lety

      When buying Borla’s cat back it uses an X pipe. The stock exhaust uses an H-pipe. H-pipes provide a more traditional muscle car sound, while an X-pipe is a lil different, sometimes described as more European sounding. X-pipes also add a couple of horsepower because they flow better. I prioritized sound quality over a dozen more HP which is why I got the axle back.

    So it’s been a while since you did this, can you give an update as to how this bypass mod has worked for you? I have a completely bone stock ST that I want to do this on, but got folks telling me that it’s a boost leak....there can’t be any boost going to the symposer hose can there? Otherwise you’d leak boost when it opened by the electric valve anyways? I absolutely love the sound of the open symposer, but wanted to hear your feedback before I attempt anything.

    Sounds like the bottom plate has flexed up and the drive pulley is scrubbing. This can happen when they are moved with two wheel dollies and the lip of the dolly hits the bottom plate on GE’s and Frigidaire. I advise people to pull the washer back as they pull the dolly back. Do not pull the dolly back then the washer. Have the dolly firm against the washer when you pull it back. That or the suspension rod springs are weak.

    I just had this issue today. After moving my washer. Some how I pushed up the bottom cover up toward the big pulley. I used a rubber mallet to hit the bottom cover back down away from pulley. When washer is empty the tub sits higher. check when it is full of cloths and water. I had to get all the way down on the floor to see it rubbing. Also check and make sure bottom is not being pushed up by the floor. You may need to raise the machine. I did have the front cover off when i did this repair.

    • @rickeykeeton71
      @rickeykeeton71 Před 4 lety

      Terry Doberstein This can happen when the lip of the dolly hits the bottom panel while moving one of these. When moving one of these with a dolly, be sure to pull the machine completely against the dolly frame THEN tilt the dolly and machine back at the same time. This may be especially true if you are using plain standard dolly and not appliance dollies. The appliance dolly has a shorter lip the slides under the appliance. Also, the appliance can be strapped snuggly against the dolly to prevent the appliance from separating from the dolly and tilting back toward the floor and causing the dolly lip to hit the bottom panel and flexing it.

      Matthew Hembree sometimes the thin metal bottom of the cabinet can get flexed upward. When this happens, the big pulls can scrub on the metal bottom. I have just reached in and flex the cabinet bottom back down. Also, if the machine has tension rods in the corners, the springs on the bottom of the rods sometimes get weak and allows the basket to drop a little letting the same pulley the belt goes around to scrub the cabinet bottom. These transmission have to have rivets cut out and disassembled to work on them. That is why I don’t really care to mess with them very much. Whirlpools were easier to work on in regards to transmission. The older ones anyway were, since the transmissions could be serviced by removing from machine and removing a few screws from the transmission cover.

    Nice Dave! I didn't watch this video of yours until now... I was considering adding a dual tip pipe to the end of my cutout... my friend says it will change the sound so it gets me curious. Also I have been getting really FUN pops and bangs when down shifting with a rev match.... (throwing the clutch and finagling the gas just right and it's as if I'm throwing a fireball out the pipe HADOUKEN! ... it gives this awesome sensation I can't cut it out.. yoga flame (i know it's probably bad for the turbo) it's too addicting. Do you get bangs, backfires and pops a lot?? If so what ways do you get them? (for reference i'm stage 3 with JST pro tune e30) I'll definitely make a new video on my cutout soon... dang sounds fun!! Thanks man!

    • @6gears2freedom
      @6gears2freedom Před 4 lety

      I love the cracks and pops too! I get a lot of gurgling on downshifts and when engine braking at slow speeds, especially when the engine is cold and when the outside temperature is below 60F. I'm running an FRPP tune. You may want to look into a 'crackle tune' that will allow you to force the pops and bangs at will. While changing your exhaust tip will technically change the sound because you are causing the sound waves to exit differently, I do not think you'll be able to tell a difference unless you're making a hard turn to the side or down towards the ground. If the dual tips will still point out the back any sound change will be negligible. Exhaust tips are for appearance - mufflers and resonators reshape the sound waves.

    • @6gears2freedom
      @6gears2freedom Před 4 lety

      I used the 2.5" QTP cutout. QTP markets the 2.25" and 2.5" as two different sizes, but if you look at the dimensional drawings on their website you'll see that are the same physical size - I called QTP and they confirmed this. www.quicktimeperformance.com/Support/Docs/QTP_PRODUCT_MEASUREMENT_2013.pdf I've had several people ask about the wiring - I'll put together something on that when I get some time. Thanks!

  • @6gears2freedom
    @6gears2freedom Před 5 lety

    Update: I narrowed down the source of the grinding sound to the base of the transmission near the clutch/spring/bearing assembly that sits inside the big pulley. I believe the issue is related to the brass plate that sits around the brass ball bearings. This part of the transmission is not intended to be serviceable. You have to replace the entire transmission and brake assembly (manufacturer part number WH38X10002) which is about $350-$400 new... time for a new washer :) You can see the brass pieces in this awesome video at czcams.com/video/h4qmztTHkW0/video.html
