I would not recommend applying CanCoat that way. Spray it on the MF cloth or applicator block and coat the car like you would with coating. Much better results, no overspary and no wastig of product.

Jimothy, appreciate the vid as always. May I maybe a suggestion? Get the panel at a slight angle to emulate a hood, use a light misting nozel to allow the water to accumulate slowly so we can see the beads forming then rolling, rather than the waterfall. Also when starting the product stripping tests you could use the strippers in the bottom half each test panel so you have the up half to compare it to. The mist on a half treated half stripped panel should be very revealing. Bless you my son.

Thanks doing the demo, and yes the products are for different purposes. Your test is function over price not based upon the chemistry of the product. Can they do the job of shedding water, answer is Yes! The rest of the testing cannot be done on a video, time on the surface cannot be duplicated. If I was doing detailing as a business then price the use to meet customer’s expectations.
As suggested dump the hose and use a spray nozzle to imitate rain drops or a mister. That will makes imitate the impact of effects of rain or the morning dew. You will then be able to see how tight the water beads and make the use of the IPA or APC wipe downs more relevant.
Keep this up even when products are not the same, go beyond the hype and stress results.

    2 things about can coat:
    - As with all ceramic coatings, they recommend putting a sacrificial sio2 top coat like Carpro Reload. Gyeon Cure I think is theirs. Any silica based sealant. These ensure the coating has time to fully cure while protecting from water exposure.
    - if you look at the clogged up sprayer you see there is a white crystalline resin that hardened up. All ceramic coatings lose their hydrophobic properties over time but they are still there. That’s why you need to rejuvenate the coating with a top coat one or two times a year or a sio2 sealant spray once a month.
I’m no expert just my 2 cents. What do you guys think?

How do I get past clients on the subscription . 3. How do I get clients that messaged me but never went through .4 clients that responded to a post I made but never really inquired about a service. • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing Před 5 lety

Cruz's Car Wash totally agree. This is an apples to oranges comparison. Sonax PNS would have definitely been a better comparison to this Stoners product. CanCoat is in a category of its own and the only thing I can think of at the moment is Sonax CC36 Ceramic Coating as these both last about a year.
Not to mention the incorrect application for CanCoat. One would run out in a couple panels using it this way.

This high priced shield and this low priced shield both didnt stop the nuclear bomb! The shields need to be tested with swords not bombs. What I am struggling with right now is getting the $200 Gyeon kit that has the various ceraminc bases and then the skin for a topper, vs. something like Adams 9h which claims to be a replacement for the longer cured ceramics. You wouldnt want to spend $200 on the whole kit and nuke it with stripper, but surely there are some more innocuous tests that could be run to see if the $200 is justified over a $50 spray bottle?

Either apply different products to each panel of your car or leave the test panels outside and wash every couple of weeks to check durability. For all the STUPID PEOPLE!!! that bash jimbo doing this video, by saying that jimbo is not comparing apple to apple..........
Note that the title of this video is about comparing LSP with similar application method, with a twist "cheap vs xpensive."
The hell with comparing SIO2 vs Polymer shit.
The hell with comparing carnauba wax vs montan wax.
The hell with water based vs solvent based vs petroleum based.
For me as car owner im not sweating over does my LSP consist of SIO2 or polymer or sth else.
    Price always affects decision making.
And if beadmax or Meg fast finish or any other spray LSP that is cheaper than gyeon performs on par with gyeon cancoat...it doesnt matter whether gyeon has SIO2 or not...doesnt matter if beadmax has polymer has ceramic has carnauba or not...as long as the stuff protects the clearcoat, beads sheets well, looks good, feels slick, WHAT ELSE TO FUSS ABOUT!!!???
We can talk about comparing apple to apple all day long...but that is from a chemist point of view.
And from a chemist point of view, comparing two products that has SIO2 content, that according to us are fair comparison..this maybe not the same for them, maybe a chemist will put another factors such as what solvent the lsp has, etc etc as comparison factors...not just merely comparing 2 Products that each has SIO2 content and say that it is a fair comparison.
We as car owner no need to enter those endless chemistry shit debate.
    Im not bashing gyeon here.
For me gyeon cancoat performs better than beadmax all day long.
