HR will ask your curr salary and they can go 30% to 40% above that. This type of trick will work 5% of the cases.

Bhai, the company have some budget to hire a candidates so they don't give if their budget is low still they have power to give you what your real worth on same or little 5% increment or 4% increment not more than, 95% engineers get salary package is 3-4 LPA , only 5% or 1 % engineers get 50LPA+ package or 2crores+ package 1 in a million other than that all are mass hiried or say as it is that 95% engineers are underpaid in their job role, because if they ask more than manager will fire him or find some replacement on behalf of him due to layoffs happens and many other things so be smart , dont be emotional fool, many engineers or IT professionals are emotional fool also, I see many of them that for 2 years experience earning package is 12LPA after switching jobs from 4 LPA to 12 lpa in a one switch from TCS to startup and one of the engineer is after 4 years of experience in Cognizant salary is 9LPA only , this is the biggest difference and that employee is underpaid as per their market worth value in that particular years of experience in that technology in IT, and unfortunately 95% engineers are working underpaid.
I've tried switching and switching is not as easy as you're saying. There are no startups hiring in India right now. I can't even understand how people are getting hired right now. it's a full grim situation right now.
What about all fields? Except nepokids all are underpaid in India 😂😂

Agree I am not HR but switched 2 companies in 10 years . I go wherever opportunities call me.
Always give percent not amount range
I often say to HR when they ask our salary expectation that it should promising and market standard.

Probably, the mindset now might be that enough BS, let's get straight to the point.
There may be chances HR want to know how much CTC is going on market and how much employees expecting?
It's all about what we getting in market for that particular technology. I got 110% hike for second company bcz I was under paid in my first company. And I negotiated that salary with my revoke offer from first company whey I had put letter. So it's all depends on how you talk with HR. If they have budget they give otherwise they don't.
Uncertainty in every step 🪜 in corporate will make people restless, even some people who earn in lakhs will not be happy surely.
Actually I asked for a perticular amount and I got it in 2008

I took more than 50+ interviews for our project in my previous company so I guess I can explain my perspective here...
1. HR asks for expected salary in first call only just because it should not waste time of anyone of us because most of time if we don't ask the candidate expectation then after all 4 round we were in situation were candidate were very good but his expectations were double of our budget. Hence it is beneficial for both to speak what do you have in mind and ofcourse don't underestimate yourself ask for the number what's on your mind because you are the one who knows how much you worth its hr's decision is he ok or not ok so that they both can move on
PS: always ask for 40% more than the actual expectated compensation 😄

@@akashbharadwaj1you are right hr generally nahi batate but if you want you can ask them I did the same while switching when hr was not ok with the number i was expecting and then she told me the range.. but there budget was lower than my holding offer so rejected straight forward 😅

If you have long career breaks, you can simply tell them the real reason if there asks. It's not gonna effect anything if you are telling the reason.

Plz don't mislead it doesn't happen like this . It just happened as per your old salary and mainly technical interview. Candidate must have higher expectations with confidence on the basis of knowledge.

@@SkSk-vj3qr nah inspite of whatever your current compensation they try for projects and completing all the process offer you something which is even less then your current. happened 5 times to me. If you don't reveal a figure you should not waste your time on the process.
@@ManoharBatra the recruiters dont even see the current compensation and offer even less seeing this for 2023-2024 cracked 5 companies for senior level but result was same, HRs can't even bargain even a lakh to the projects.

Same thing happened to me cleared technical round rejected in manager round as I have 90 days notice and I asked 8 lpa ctc current ctc 4.04

It means even after becoming the expert in SQL, PL/SQL
Salary unfortunately doesn't increase exponentially. My dream was to become Senior Database Developer but it got totally shattered after completing MBA & also I got PL/SQL job opportunity very late during 2nd year of MBA when my University exams were going on & I had totally lost touch with database development at that time as well.

Telling around 40% hike on Current CTC which may be negotiable. If asked about how much it may be negotiated then around 35 % on current CTC may be told. As standard hike is around 30%.
