The first three minutes you can feel Zayn has his guard up, but the conversation after the first 3 questions made the situation much better. Sean is hands down the best host on CZcams.
Its really sad seeing how many people didn't realise how polite and nice of a guy he was from the very beginning. Media framed him and people got on with it. I hope more people will see his true self from now on. It warms my heart how open he is now. Bless him.

@@Lee_lee_27_7_27 yes, you can. As is the case with many of Sean's interviews. He allows his guests to be their most authentic selves. They don't have to entertain the way they do for every single other interview.
I think the biggest reason celebrities agree to do this show is they know Sean is not trying to dig up dirt on their personal lives, he genuinely wants to hear about their careers and creative life. It didn't surprise me Sean didn't ask any direct questions about 1D.

I know. Im so glad he's able to speak about the past so positively and laugh about it now even when it was one of his hardest times. I really hope we one day we do get a reunion with all five boys even if it just means them sitting in a room talking I wouldn't even care if they don't do a performance I would just love to see them interact with each other like they do even if they do a little skit of just singing fresh prince of bell air for jokes that would be fine by me. Also if they did this I feel like not only would it give closer for fans but for the boys knowing that it ended on a good note and not holding grudges against each other. I feel like One Direction ended in such heartbreak even though it wasn't Zayn's fault for leaving. There was so much resentment and maybe even a sense of betrayal from some fans and also from the boys as well even though it was never Zayn's fault and just having that conversation between all of them would give everyone that slight more sense of closer

I was never a Directioner, so I didn't grow up obsessed with the guys - however, I can totally see why millions of teenagers were: what a sweetheart this man is. I was NOT expecting him to be this soft-spoken, caring and thoughtful. Just wow. Charmed the pants off of me LOL

One of my favorite things about Hot Ones is the relief you see in the guests when they aren't asked the same 10 questions about the same 10 things they're always asked about. You can visibly see their walls lower after a couple questions, even before the spice starts to hit. It's nice to see them go from PR trained celebrities to real people in a matter of minutes.

Never been a fan of One Direction and any of the guys. Don’t dislike them but just never really got into their music. This interview made me a Zayn stan though. He’s so grounded and relatable. Seems like a simple genuine soul. It’s just so comfortable listening to him speak without any pretense.

He was in the boy band One Direction where he was incredibly overwork and quite whitewashed. He eventually developed an eating disorder and left the band and he received lots of hate for it
How was he mistreated? He threw his former bandmates under the bus and said he really never had a friendship with any of them and spoke bad about the music they sang. Wasn't there for Louis when his family members passed away, meanwhile all the other bandmates attended the funeral and supported Louis.

You could tell at the beginning zayn was nervous I loved watching him slowly relax as he realized the question weren’t super hard and personal
Love how Sean didn’t really ask the conventional questions about 1D or even stress about anything related to the 1D split etc etc. I’m sure Zayn must be tired of such questions anyway. This felt more like a general flowing conversation rather than an interview. Exactly what someone like zayn needs.
Zayn's eyes show how much he went through in the last few years but his smile just got even more beautiful. This man ages like fine wine or to be more specific, fine wine ages like Zayn. He always has been gorgeous but it just keeps getting better. I loved how great the questions were. They focused on the things Zayn keeps the closest to his heart. They focused on his safest places. Gardening, cooking, music and great memories. Thank you for this interview. It was a great comeback

Huge respect and props to Sean for another outstanding interview with a celebrity that is timid about the process. I wasn't going to watch this one but again was presently surprised by a guest I didn't expect to like. Zayn was a great guest! This was so good. The way Sean respects the energy and boundaries of the guest in front of him, never pushes and is always attentive. The research to have GOOD and actually interesting questions is so refreshing as well and to have Zayn say it's one of the best interviews he's ever done truly is a testament to the quality of this show. It was a lovely conversation, I liked it a lot.
