You’ve motivated me to also become a polyglot and though I’m currently learning Japanese my life goal has always been to learn Spanish and move to Spain (I’m in NYC right now) so seeing you live the life I want to one day live motivates me to work hard 💜
I am so happy to hear that
@belén 白蘭 sameeee
New York seems like such a fun international community to live in 😭
It’s great to see that you’re still motivated to learn more languages and trying to continue living your life. Especially after what you have been going through. When my grandpa passed away last year I didn’t have any passion or motivation the entire year. I wasn’t even working.
I’m sorry to hear you had such a rough time. But what you see online is only a small percentage of the bigger picture. I cry every night.
@@LindieBotes I'm praying for you everyday, Lindie!
We don't know each other, but I'm so happy you're doing well. Really enjoy watching this sort of 'slice of life' content!
Thank you! I’ll try to make more of these!
totally agree! I'm relieved she's been able to go on with her life though the last months have been extremely difficult for her. I also really enjoy slice of life type of videos =)
One of my best friends in the world loves Thai. He said something along the line of "its double adjectives are really cute". And I notice the same phenomenon in Vietnamese, too. We also have "nho nhỏ" (which means "teeny tiny") and "xinh xinh" (which means "pretty cute"). I can't wait to see your journey with these beautiful languages.
And Lindie, even though we viewers look up to you and find you inspiring, please don't pressure yourself to be presentable all the time. I think many others will agree with me that laid-back vlogs like this have their beauty. I wish you all the best and especially, chúc bạn mạnh khỏe và bình an.💜
You saying you’re doing better makes me really happy. So glad to hear that. You’re amazing, really!♡
For writing Thai I would recomend "Read Thai in 10 Days". Of course it will take longer, but the book helped me a lot to get an idea of the language and the writing system.
I’m using it now!
@@LindieBotes thats great. Hope you find it helpful!
Currently learning thai too I'll learn Japanese along the way
Seeing your daily life was calming and inspiring for me Lindie. Thank you so much ❤ send you lots of love ❤
I really appreciate it!
You are so amazing, thank you ❤️
I love this cute type of video 🥰 it’s so casual and cozy. Really glad to see u doing better 💖
True 🥰🥰🥰
非常謝謝你💖
12:02 In the Netherlands we could see Jupiter too! Cool to see that you and your dad, many thousands of kilometers away, could see it too :)
That’s awesome!
Beautiful people, beautiful dad, beautiful Lindie 🥰
WOoo new Lindie Botes vid
Such a good idea for video! I enjoyed spending the day w/ you.
Oh Preply is great, I’m also an English tutor there!
Good luck !
Lindie you are just such a cool person, you bring all that cool energy while you are speaking and the things you speak about. I love seeing this ongoing process on you and how much you love languages is such a big motivation for me to improve the languages I study. I really hope you are doing well and keep motivated. I wish u the best.
Liked seeing your daily life as a UX designer and how language learning fits in. Cool to see your dad.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just a friendly reminder that it's your personal choice to wear it of course, but never feel obligated to put on makeup to look presentable. You are great and presentable either way so it's whatever makes you happy that matters. Otherwise thanks for sharing, it was nice hearing about the mental health chart, I thought it was a great idea.
Thai! So fun!
I love this kind of videos. Glad to see that you're doing ok, and it was absolutely great to see your dad, too. Have a lovely week, my dear.
I’m so excited that you’re learning Thai again because I’ve been wanting to learn it too but have had no idea how to go about it. Thai has a lot less resources than any other language I’ve been learning.
I would love to learn more about ux design from you! :)
So besides learning languages you also superwoman thank you for letting us see a day in the life of you
So glad that you're giving Thai another whirl! I totally understand the tones 😅😰 even after living in Thailand for so long, I still mix up tones, especially since I've also lived in areas where there was dialect 🙊keep going with learning, สู้ๆนะครับ
Oh another day in life video 😀😀
Lindie you are a true motivation 😊 it's always such a pleasure to watch your videos. You have been motivating me for so many years to learn languages and now I want to start doing UI design. I love how you combine the two. You are a precious gem and I'm so thankful that I stumbled upon you🥺♥️
It makes me happy knowing that you're having better days Lindie! 😊✨️ I really hope it continues like that.
Always love your videos. Wish you a good day!
You're awesome! Great video!
I'm really happy to hear that you are feeling better! I hope to see more vlogs like this :)
This is really great video like always. When I see your videos, I feel myself so happy. You always inspire myself
Thanks for letting us tag along on your day, I found it very interesting!
Örülök hogy egyre jobban vagy Lindie! I'm enjoying the new videos, thanks for uploading :)
This was such a fun (and beautiful) vlog! It's interesting to see all these parts of your life and passions collected into a video like this. (And your graphics are always so pretty~)
Thai seems to be going smoothly also! 🤩
Lovely video Lindie, really glad to hear that you are doing better🐳
I love love love these vloggy style videos!! You motivated me to start taking italki lessons for Korean and Spanish and they are so good, so thankyou!!
Your videos are so fun and relaxing. Glad you are doing better. 🙂
My Ouma always used to say "maagies vol, oogies toe". Lots of love Lindie!
It makes me so happy to see how well you are doing! I know it's not like that all the time, but are a really strong person! I wish I had the strenght to deal with grief the way you do! Let's keep studying and enjoying the best days! ♥화이팅!
It's crazy how a simple day of doing mundane tasks can fulfill one. Seeing you going about your day and being so motivated (from what we see online) to learn a new language is really inspiring.
I'm currently trying to learn Korean, it is my first attempt to actually learn a language and I'm still struggling to get into a routine. I've recently began picking up where I left off with my studies and some days I skip, some days I'm really motivated but as they say consistency is key.
Anyway, just wanted to share some of my thoughts. Thank you for making time to post a vid Lindie, hope you have a wonderful week 😊
~ from a fellow South African 🇿🇦
i love your videos. You give me so much motivation. I studied Korean for about four years, but the teachers weren't good enough, so I didn't learn Korean the way I wanted to. And now I'm starting over with a new, amazing teacher. She taught me so many things - grammar, speaking, writing. I always told myself that one day I would be able to speak Korean fluently. Thanks for your videos. Stay safe and healthy♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
That's been such motivated video👌
I’m so glad, thank you!
Glad to hear you are doing better Lindie. It was a nice video -thanks for sharing. Also, I actually wanted to stick my mom for some sushi at Oyama the other day for lunch but they were closed due to the load shedding : ( so instead we went to Shilla Korean restaurant and that was great.
Wow, you look like your dad! That's amazing ❤️
Loved this insight, you're keeping me motivated to keep learning. I'm going to start writing a diary entry in Korean each day starting today 🙂.
I hope you are well and things are getting better 🥰.
Oh that's hilarious, I just started on Preply yesterday for Spanish haha. Missed my opportunity for 50% off. Oh well~ You're really brave for getting a tutor right off the bat. I waited until I couldn't neglect my speaking/listening skills anymore. My tutor was like "uh you know a lot for someone of your speaking level." Glad to see you doing better!
Thanks for the video😊
Thanks for watching!
Lindie! I’m so happy you’re doing better. I just wanted to write that in Spanish we say something similar when we finish a meal. “Güatita llena, corazón contento” (it’s more of a Latin America Spanish saying) It translates in English to “stomach full, happy heart”. I hope you find it somewhat interesting 😅 since you’re learning Spanish too. ❤
Hi, 린디!! It's been quite a long time since I last watched your videos. (About a year....sorry....)
한국어를 공부한지 벌써 12년이나 되었다구요? Wow! Amazing!
Anyway, 한국어와 태국어가 단어나 문장 구조에서 비슷한 점이 많다는 사실을 전혀 몰랐네요...
In that case, I'd rather try learning Thai language sometime.
Thanks for your new information!!
เป็นกำลังใจให้ครับ เชื่อมั่นในความอัจฉริยะของคุณ คุณต้องทำได้ดีเหมือนภาษาอื่นๆ ที่คุณเคยเรียนผ่านมาแน่ๆ 😊
This is a great video! Really enjoyed seeing a day in your life :D So glad you are doing better and feeling good.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a fun day
My inspiration
Hey Lindie, great video! I'd really like to learn more about the everyday life in South Africa. I feel like I don't know anything but you make it seem quite nice. Especially since winter is coming over here :)
I loved this video Lindie. Hugs from California
Lindie, you’re illegally pretty without make-up!
And I really enjoy this type of video, it’s nice and inspiring to see how other people live ❤
I'm pretty jealous of you in terms of weather😅✌️ Autumn is just beginning here in Czechia
It’s so interesting she compared Thai to Korean because I’ve personally always thought it was very similar to Chinese, especially grammatically. For example for different tenses you just use add different words in Thai and Chinese, but in Korean you have to actually change the verbs like in Japanese.
Your videos are motivated to me.I'm also trying to become a polyglot.Btw, supporting from Myanmar ❤
Wow, You did great job and your hand writing is so cute. That's impressive. Btw I'm Thai
Such a wholesome video. And your time management seems awesome. Wish I was like you on that field. BTW how much Sepedi do you speak? I bet it's much more than you think.
Nice to see your design related work. Hope you can make it to Open window on the 22nd. Will make an interesting video.
That's the plan!
İ' really inspired.. Lindie
I can relate to being nervous for the first Thai lesson! I felt very similar :) but now it is all good!
Today I took some time after work to write sentences and practice weekdays in Thai….the spelling is rather insane O_O
Lindie you look tired but well, nice to see your Dad too ,take care
안녕하세요 저는 한국의 uxui 디자이너에요!! 한국어 공부하는 영상으로 린디을 알게 되었는데 직업을 보니 더 반가워요 💕디자이너 선배님으로 생각해도 될까요 🤭
Hello Lindie, I like all of your videos. How can I take a lesson with you on Preply? I couldn't find the link you mentioned in the video.
Lindie, ¿qué editor de videos usas? soy fan de la fluidez de tus videos 💚
Gracias! Uso PremierePro
if i had a note for my mood it was going to be all in black
Thank you so much for this video, it was really inspiring!
August was bad for me too
♥️♥️♥️
Which website would you say is best for Japanese tutors? I think at some point I'd like to book lessons once I'm more comfortable with the language to actually be able to speak it to someone!
Ugh the load shedding has been a nightmare for so many people - I teach ESL and my company has a lot of teachers from South Africa. It's hard to have a remote job when your power gets shut off for hours every day!!
Lindie: I have to get to work right away
Also lindie: *brushes hair
Dear Lindie, thank you for your vlog! I found it interesting as always and I'm glad you're feeling so much better now. 😊 May I ask you something rather personal? At the moment I'm thinking about a career change, or to put it in other words: I'm thinking about becoming a UX designer, because I find the job requirements pretty interesting and I also think that they might fit my personality. The only "problem" is: my background is that of an art historian / historian and I have zero knowledge of graphic design. Do you think that I need at least a basic knowledge of graphic design and what kind of education did you get to become a UX/UI designer? As I mentioned before, I hope that my questions are not too personal. Take care! 🤗
Maybe book a language lesson with her for her time and talk with her about these questions?
@@YogaBlissDance Oh, I think that came across wrong: I'm not asking for a full consultation from Lindie, as I don't want to steal her time (which of course doesn't mean I wouldn't book one of her classes, as I really like her personality 😃). I would only have been interested in what training/education she has. However, if this is too indiscreet (which I understand), I am happy to withdraw my question.
@ Lindie: You are / have always been an inspiration for me! 🙂
Hey! I'm not Lindie but I am a designer and felt like I could help you out! I'm currently doing UI/UX, and have had a lot of different design jobs. You definitely need knowledge of graphic design, otherwise you won't be able to solve a lot of issues or even know what the problems are when designing. Graphic design is different from art where it's more up to your personal taste and interpretation, as it's specifically about solving a problem for a specific audience and requires a lot of analysis, research, etc. I went to school for graphic design, but there are plenty of self-taught designers that have just done online courses, etc that have design jobs. I'd say if you're interested, check out some of the basics of graphic design on CZcams, as there are lots of free courses available. You can get a feel for if it's something you might like!
@Cynthia Thanks for your answer! I was very happy to hear from you. Your answer confirms what I already suspected, namely that UI/UX design requires at least basic knowledge in graphic design. I have therefore discarded the plan of becoming a UI/UX designer for the time being, although I am still very interested in it. I'm also very interested in graphic design in general, and maybe I'll acquire some basic knowledge in this area first. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
I would love to book a class with you! How can I do it? :)
I love the Thai lesson segment. Way cool. Your "Study with Me" videos are my favorites. I find language learner's "Study With Me" videos the perfect inspiration to watch, as I set myself up to begin my own study session for the day.
My favorite one is your Hungarian one, with you talking Hungarian with the Hungarian hamster. lol
czcams.com/video/c4dlWZuqw7Y/video.html
Lindie what is happening in South Africa, is it the government-mismanagement? Also can I request a video on was it difficult to move from Singapore to back home- do you plan to move back there?
I have been noticing she's back in South Africa when she began mentioning it in videos, but I honestly thought she was visiting, I didn't know she went back home. I really hope being back home will in time be comforting to her through the loss.
I'm curious, was there a reason to learn Thai for you except that the writing is beautiful ? It is great that you seem better.
Hello, can you recommend an english tutor?, i have upper intermediate level in english, i am not fluent in it, how can i be?
This is like my struggle with Hindi and it’s language. The romanization is different depending on people/places. I can’t with it.
It’s funny how these tutors have no idea whom they’re dealing with: oh you already tried studying Korean? Yes. For 12 years.
You are living in South Africa now?
I am temporarily here because my mom got sick
@@LindieBotes Mucho ánimo

Congratulations, sorry I don’t have a prize for you
