Hey guys, in a remote village called Modhera, there is a very strange temple built with incredible geometric perfection. This is the main structure, and I am putting a compass here in the entrance, exactly on this middle line between the rocks, look at this alignment. This is insane, it is perfectly aligned to the East - West direction, without even a decimal error. I don’t understand how such perfection was possible in ancient times, this temple is said to be at least 1000 years old. In this temple, there are 3 main structures, I have already shown you the alignment of the main shrine, now let us check the second structure. It is interesting, because the ancient builders have marked specific notches in the entrances. And when we put the phone on top of them, the alignment is just perfect, there is no error. This is 0 degrees north, perfect north. I have checked the entire temple’s structure everywhere, and it is flawless, with no errors. This kind of precision can be achieved only with advanced technology. This may seem easy if you don’t understand the history of the compass.
Today, we are able to see the alignment with perfection to a decimal digit because we use electronic devices. But let’s go back a thousand years old, archeologists and historians say that we used primitive compasses, using loadstones or crude magnetized needles floating in liquid. How could the ancient builders achieve this level of precision, without even a 0.01% of error?
But there is an even bigger question. It is not how they did, it is why? Why was such a precise alignment necessary? Why should the main chamber point exactly due east? Look at this picture taken on 21st March last year. This was taken early morning during sunrise, the very first rays of the sun pass through the center of these entrances, and will shine into the main chamber. This phenomenon happens only twice a year, on March 21st and September 23rd. Why? What is special about those 2 days? Those are called the equinoxes, those are the only 2 days where days and nights are exactly equal, and those are the days where the sun rises exactly due east. This may be news to you, because you may have previously thought that the Sun always rises in the east, but that is not true, it keeps rising left and right, but only on these 2 days, it will rise at zero degree east. This is why perfect alignment to east is also called Equinoctial east. Now, what was originally inside the main chamber? An idol of the Sun God Surya, a giant statue made of pure gold, and studded with diamonds once stood inside the main chamber. So, when the first rays of the Sun fell on the idol of Surya, the entire chamber would have dazzled like a light show.

The Sun Temple at Modhera is currently located about 16.5 kilometers south of the Tropic of Cancer. The Tropic of Cancer moves northward at a rate of approximately 0.15 degrees per year, which means it takes 60 years for it to move one degree. Based on this, it takes around 9 years for the Tropic of Cancer to move 0.15 degrees, which is the current distance between the temple and the Tropic of Cancer.
Assuming that the Sun Temple was aligned with the Tropic of Cancer, it means the temple was located where the Tropic of Cancer was 9 years ago. Therefore, the time when the Sun Temple was aligned with the Tropic of Cancer would be approximately 3959 years ago.
I saw this calculation from another comment, I thought I would share to compare:
Earth's axial tilt varies over a 41,000-year period from 22.1 to 24.5 degrees back and forth.
So for 2.4 change it should take 20,500 yrs.
Current Tropic of cancer is 23.4394
Latitude of Temple is 23.5835
Difference is 0.1441
So how old is the temple?
(0.1441*20500)/2.4 = 1231 yrs old.
Archeological estimate: 997 yrs old
Archeologists dated this temple 1026AD based on an inscription found in the temple in Devanagari script with Vikrama Samvat year written upside down. But they believe that this is the year of destruction of the temple by Mohammed Ghazni and not the date when the temple was constructed.
So going by these facts the temple could have been constructed 234 years before their estimate.
I just watched this episode, and I was wondering just that .
And, I agree that these temples are way older than a thousand, or a few thousand years.
But, I must wonder if it was not when the tropic of cancer was above the temple the time before 3959, or the time before that, or there time before that, and so on.
Just like they have found out that the water erosion on the Sphinx dates it back at least 10,000 years.
And, according to Thoth in "The Emerald Tablets,"
The pyramids are at least 36,000 years old.

As per ASI carbon dating techniques and also as per Historical references like inscriptions and scriptures, they have confirmed that the temple has been built between 1026-1027 CE and it was built at 23.6° N Lattitude, approximately near Tropic of Cancer.

Ancient civilizations were very very sophisticated and highly precise. It was built by super intellegent beings who did their job with sheer dedication and took the significance of maths science physics and human nature/science very seriously. Our ancestors were divine. They were directly in connection with the source. This connection has severed along the years. They aren't just for celebration, the equinoxes are very important for farming and agriculture to know when to plant and harvest.
if it's that simple there was no need of that temple or those advanced knowledge but agriculture is one of those important subjects which can be addressed by the temple knowledge.
Makes sense. They didn't have means to track each day of the year and know where they were in the year.
It's convenient to visit a giant monument(clock) in the village time to time and know the status. And scholars living in the temple will guide you about planning the activities.

I'm from Gujarat and I've visited this temple too and I've observed that the underground passage below the idol is directly in the line of the water pond called waav. I felt that the pond has a gate which is filled with water and that is directly connected to the temple's Idol area.
Some really good ponderables. I thought the temple looked also like an earthquake may have affected one side just a little bit. Other temples seem like the pillars are more in alignment as seen from any angle. Makes me wonder where this temple fits in to the general time line. India is so incredible. 1) If you travel from Hastinapur to dwarka in a straight line. Then distance between two cities is 1100kms. And at exactly 100kms on the same line we have Purana Qila,Delhi near Yamuna Bank (inderprastha, capital of Pandavas) , also khatu shyam ji falls on same line.
2) if you go from Hastinapur to Kabul (towards gandhar) , it's also 1100kms and at 100kms distance on same line we have kurukshetra..

I live in Mehsana which is near Modhera. I have visited this Sun Temple many times. It is a historical temple. Modhera Village is INDIA's first solar Village where every house has Rooftop Solar system. It is said that ancient people used the wheels of the chariot for accurate time calculations and some Yogis still use it. Moreover, it also had seven horses painted in seven different colors originally which depicted seven colors constituting white light
According to Vedas, the 7 horses are depicts of the 7 chandas and not colours.

Very interesting. the number 12 occurs in many things in nature and the Universe. So does 7 and 7 x 7. India always amazes me with it's ancient advanced designs in architecture, carvings, and literature.
but in this case its exactly related to 12 months (12 cycles of moons in one year), 7 colors, 53 weeks and so on pls read Surya Siddhanta which explains traditional luni-solar calendar and methods to recalibrate it whenever we want. it explains more complex phenomenons unike these basic general knowledge based temples. these were common basic knowledge back then.
The only funny thing people of these days do is question everything and if they may find it impossible they call it bluff. They fail to realise the wisdom and the intellect people of yester years had. They did not limit themselves to anything hence the wisdom may be via meditation or by sheer perseverance and they loved to do everything perfectly. Tantra, mantras, yantras and yagyas are about manifesting and summoning gods in our experience and consciousness who give us advanced knowledge. and they don't even need to be physically present. only one among billions may succeed like RamaKrishna Paramhamsa the guru of Swami Vivekananda. who have said to summon Mother Kali with his intense unimaginable level of emotional devotion. and Srinivasa Ramanujan who summoned Devi Namagiri in his dreams who gave him extremely complex formulas which seems magical even to exist but is practically scientific how they calculate precise values in subject of infinite series and so on. westerns never understood his teachings and philosophies. it seems they don't understand it yet they stole most of his works, poisoned him and left to die slowly when he was send home (India) in vacation and died within a year. the ancient scriptures like Ramayan and Mahabharat, etc are full of enlightened kings, gurus, people and enlightened sages who had mastered that art to summon them regularly. individually as a seeker we don't believe nor disbelieve anything but this is general knowledge or data which are testimonies of subjects who individually experienced them which cannot be confirmed by us unless we reach their level of devotion and spiritual advancements.
